Manny annoys the hell out of me, he can be funny in small doses but to me he's the Lisa Simpson of the group, necessary in a way but annyoing 90% of the time.

From everything that I have heard from people higher up the chain and those in MBA programs/have gone through them, I would highly suggest getting work experience before you get an MBA.

I am incredibly jealous, I really want a Great Dane one day. Good luck and hope he's a good one!

About half my floor my freshmen year was Indian, including my roommate. Basically what they told me was that Indians who grew up in America use deodorant, those who immigrated don't. It's just not used in India, it's not part of their social customs there. You would be surprised by how many roommate conflicts surrounded bad smells from foreign students, whether it be different foods (mostly Korean students) or body odor (Indian students), or not doing laundry (lazy ass white kids who didnt know how to do it because their mom always did it). I was an RA for a year and a half, this was by far the most common problem.

The Chicago Code was definitely enjoyable, I wouldn't say great but it had a good start. I do appreciate that someone is finally straying away from LA and NYC to base a show on. It seems like the Midwest gets forgotten quite a bit.

I really miss the Y in Ann Arbor, it got busy during certain times but if you knew when to go it was the best gym Ive been to. The gyms on campus at U of I are great for sports, but to actually lift and workout not so much. Their benches are always full and nobody puts their weights back. Plus, you have all the frat guys grunting around you, and I have no problem with the under the breath type grunts, but the all out "Yea Im lifting this s***" type grunts piss me off.

This guy that worked near me in the summer drank Caffeine free Coke in the morning, so he was just drinking the sugar. Never understood that.

I do believe they are stretching their resources and margin of error thin this year, they probably will lose some money if attendance doesn't pick up. That said, I do believe they made money almost every year recently, how much is in debate. But that is a cushion that they have decided to get rid of this year in hopes of spiking attendance with a winner instead of cutting payroll in favor of rebuilding. And for the team to say that they can't afford certain players is just basic PR/business tactics. Of course they aren't going to come out to fans and say all their plans, those types of statements are a distraction from topics of talent evaluation, negotiations, etc, while also telling fans that if they show up the team can spend more (which is obvious but I guarantee some fans don't understand that). And the game costs so much to go to because of economics, there are enough people still willing to pay that much to see a game. The less serious fans will be coming out to more games if they win more.

According to you Dick, the Sox had a few options present: 1) Stay at the payroll of about $100 million and makes lots of money. 2) Spend all the money to make more money, as in a $120ish million payroll. The upside is that with option 1 if they believe their team is good enough to win then they saved that much money while increasing attendance (obviously that didnt happen) while in option 2 they run a huge risk in losing money if they don't win.

And JR put it bluntly, if the fans support the team in attendance they can afford to put a $115-120 million team out there every year, but it's a big risk for the team to do so with no guarantee that the team is going to contend and thus having a big risk of losing money. Just like last year was Ozzie's gamble on the team he wanted, this year will be JR/KW's gamble that the team presently built will draw loads of fans to the stadium.

When people make a larger mistake like "except" for "accept." I could care less about smaller mistakes that are obviously just minor typos or brain farts, but when people use a completely different word just because it sounds similar frustrates me.
