QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) All I am saying is that if it is indeed a high school drama, just let it play out. high school kids are high school kids, they are gonna do what they want because they need to figure it out. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Has your girlfriend thought about the possibility that her sister maybe wants this guy to get in her pants and run off? Maybe that's all she's looking for. I'm sure she knows this Johnny Fratboy's reputation. If it's a pattern, there's a reason for it. She probably would rather have a great guy available as a boyfriend and a jerkass to fool around with. My advice? Do nothing. Nothing you can do, to be honest. Let her learn. Maybe it's the fact people don't want the two together that she finds appealing. Almost a challenge. Your girlfriend will have to let her live her life. Thanks guys, thats all im looking for, just trying to reinforce my feeling that I should stay out of it(which I prefer anyway ). Alright resume your nonhighschool normal lives

You guys suck I didnt ask or want to be in this situation, but whateve I am now. Since I usually avoid this type of stuff I wondered if anybody else here had some advice, guess not, oh well

High School Drama Time!! Okay so it isnt really drama, but its starting to become that. My girlfriend is really worried over her sister, who is repeatedly flirting with this asshole of a guy who blatantly wants to get in her pants and then runoff. I dont know the guy personally, but have seen him talk to the sister and he just seems like that prototypical jock with a head full of air and that douche personality, who only thinks of himself, and right now he wants that ass. The sister already has a boyfriend, who lives about an hour or so away, so they see each other only every couple of weeks if that, and they seem to like each other, and from what Ive heard he is a really awesome guy. But this girl just keeps on flirting with dumbass of guys. I really want to help her, but part of me thinks a bad experience would help her learn whats best (she's only a sophomore) but Im afraid taht she could get in BIG trouble with this guy and I want to prevent that too. Any suggestions?

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) Aaron Rowand isn't that much better of a hitter. First, he looks like he is beating snakes up there with that god awful stance (but if your comfortable like that I guess I shouldn't criticize it then). Second off, he has had only 2 actually good seasons. And after both of those seasons he received a nice payday. I'm willing to bet he will return to his normal numbers of about a low .700 OPS, 270 average, and just not being that great of a hitter. Sure those are fine numbers, but for not the amount of $$$ he is making. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) I'm predicting Anderson to be his usual bad self. Does everything have to be based on stats? God, I hate stats. And if Anderson is his usual self no amount of defense can make up for his (again, projected by me) weak stick. If Anderson somehow proves that he is better then my Dog with the bat, then yeah, perhaps he can be worth the spot on the team. But I'll believe it when he actually consistently puts up half-way decent numbers vs. actual pitching in something bigger then a spring training game. You know, to be honest, I don't really give a s***. I think the Sox are going to have a HORRIBLE year this year. I just find it comical that even if the worst of players has a good couple of weeks the automatically become Torri Hunter. I especially find it funny now that everyone has been life long Anderson fans as well. Im confused, care to explain this? You can use stats to shoot down one player, then when asked about another you say that you dont like stats? Seems odd that you just contradicted your argument, as you basically said that Rowand's stats arent worth the money and then said stats suck.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) And BMAC's havent been either, 1 bad year out of the pen and 1 injury filled year. Danks comes up a year before expected and performs well until he hits a giant wall. Danks over BMAC in a heartbeat. Plus you wouldnt have that sweet sig

QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) And they let Ventura go for the same reasons everyone wants Crede gone, health concerns and possible declining ability. Ventura had some great years after he left the Sox and Crede still has some ahead of him. Just don't want to see them do it again. Ventura's Great Years >>>>>>>> Crede's Good Year

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) Couldnt even do that there, unless you turned fair trades off. Even then a Crede for Cain swap would fry the 360.

QUOTE(Pale Hose Jon @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) I just ate my first Fontanos sub and it was amazing. Who knew that a sub sandwich could taste so good. Just head out to a Dibellas (not in Chicago I believe) or Alpine and you'll wish you could live off of those sammiches.

See what Richar can do this year, and if Ellis is that missing piece for us next year sign him in FA. Or trade for him at the break.

So my goal time is coming in like 9 days, yikes!! Still have a little more than 10 punds to go, going to need to really push it this week. I wouldve been down to 230 if not for the traveling I did this past week, lets just say visiting colleges isnt the best thing to do when dieting. I tried to keep the portions small though and went swimming at the hotel pool or worked out at my dad's apartment, doesnt help though when I get a chance to eat Chicago pizza again

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 09:16 AM) http://www.buddytv.com/articles/scrubs/nbc...-scr-16837.aspx NBC's leaning towards giving Scrubs a proper send-off. Dynamite. Great!! Its really about time that NBC treated Scrubs with the respect that it deserves. By the way, just visited Bradley University yesterday, Neil Flynn went there! I was inches away from a janitor uniform that he donated to the school, woot!!

QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) Putnam was recruited hard by Vandy...he took a long time in making his decision between vandy and michigan...We had the #1 ranked recruiting class that year without him (featuring preseason player of the year in Alvarez, 3rd team all american ryan flaherty, second to third round picks in bret jacobson and nick christiani, not to mention diallo fon now starting as a transfer for arizona, and josh zeid at tulane)....that would have been sick to land him in that list too....i think hes actually hurt himself a bit by playing both ways, i think he would be better at either craft had he just stuck with one, but that said it has worked out for micah owings...he really shouldnt have to pitch more than once a week at this point, as hes michigan's bona fide Friday night starter...come tourney time he may have to make a few relief appearances, but he shouldnt be pitching more than just fridays anyways THing is is that his dad is a major Michigan fan and really pushed him to them, Vandy had a shot but I really believe it was Michigan or the draft for him, with him demanding a huge amount to be signed, plus he really wanted to hit still and Michigan garunteed that he would get the oppurtunity to. I think he was looking towards the future too, since hes still pretty raw as a hitter and could develop into a really good one, where as his arm might not last as long as he might need, plus he'll have a degree or some college to fall back on. I think its really cool to be playing on the same field that he did, on the same team. He was like a god here, I remember that we had so many scouts that they brought up the benches from the JV/Freshman field up to the Varsity field just so taht they could sit down, of course that meant we were left with no place to sit during games. I really appreciate though what he did for the school's program, took us to two straight State championships, winning the first. That put the spotlight somewhat on the crappy state of the fields and the dire need to upgrade them. (which they are finally starting to do, the mound wasnt even alligned right with home plate, as the school with the most students in the state, I think we deserve more).

QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 09:11 AM) probably a bit of both....zach putnam is one of the best players in the country, and he pitches and plays the field....from what ive read they return their entire team basically....when i saw em last year during that entire regional weekend, they could really hit He is fantastic, I play for the same high school now that he did 3 years ago, and I still remember watching those games he played in, just nasty stuff. Now he has that splitter, geesh. The only concern I have for him is that he is injury prone with an arm that isnt the most durable. Apparently its hard for him to pitch more than once a week.

I'll take any of those over the crap that is here in ann arbor. Seriously, who thinks that Pizza Hut is quality pizza??? Only Michiganders can make a great food horrible. Anybody ever have Nancy's stuffed over in Elmhurst? Whenever I go back I always get some of that, mmmhmmm!!

Edmonds was on his way to the Sox

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) It sure did work with Dye and you never can tell it might have worked with Edmonds, if we had gotten him. Whatever the issues/concerns are with Edmonds you can't deny that he hustles all the time and gives the game 100%. We need hard nosed ball players like that. We don't have him, but it wouldn't be all bad if we did. Hmm, sounds like Erstad. I think you can agree that Erstad was awful and we dont need another player like that. Now if we were talking about a GOOD player not breaking down due to age or whatver then fine, I would like him to hustle and give 100%, but if his poor/declining skills arent going to help the team, and may even hurt it, then I want no part of that player especially when he costs talent and money in return. -

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) Pretty solid defensive CF'er though that gives it his all every game. And still sucks, even in the NL -
1) Relatively new, but have followed for awhile, played a couple seasons so far. 2) Head to Head 3) Didnt play here last year 4) Rather not be a commish I am fairly active, as I usually check everyday sometime, but only request be a reasonable time to draft.

Noah Lowry/Matt Cain (for some reason?)

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Floyd for Roberts would be a pretty terrible deal for us also. Giving up a back - end starter with 5 more years of service team for basically an aging 4th OF (unless he started for Quentin), is not exactly an ideal trade scenario on our part. I think he meant Brian Roberts, but I could be wrong. -
Comiskey/US Cellular has some of the best food at a stadium, atleast in my opinion. Wrigley is decent, Comerica SUCKS, and all other venues Ive been to just dont match it.

I actually like Hawk, childhood thing. Better than Joe Buck atleast, wait, ANYONE could be better than him.
