    Who is dieting?

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 01:22 AM) I would love to help anyone who needs guidance/counseling. I am in tip top shape......work my ass off to stay fit, and I eat really healthy. Motivation and commitment is necessary. I also have some awesome workout routines. Do you have anything for trimming weight while still adding muscle? I workout routinely but I need to do both, so I usually run about a mile, and do 10 sprints everyday( or try too, but usually atleast 5 times a week). And I also rotate area workouts such as arms, legs, core. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have conditioning for my team, which includes warm up laps, stretching, sprints, core time, lift time, and then I run about a mile afterwards. Any suggestions?

    Who is dieting?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) That reminds me... I've been tempted to do what Mr. Eye did, and put a goal, regimen and updated results in my sig, as a motivator. Anyone else willing to do that? Count me in.

    Who is dieting?

Started around 245, dropped to 235, but I have been working out alot and added a few pounds to that. Trying to slim down to 225 by the March/April time for my season, as I am carrying around way too much weight, and I really dont want to waste my senior year and possibly last real time of baseball for me. Ive always been a big kid, family history of diabetes/horrid metabolism but really just staying away from the sweets is the biggest thing for me. Plus my knees have already started to really hurt somedays, right in the joints, and I hope that losing wight plus adding muscle to the leg areas (even though I am fairly strong now) will improve that condition and hopefully atleast prevent more pain from occuring in the future. Does anybody know if diet pop is bad for you? I know it doesnt have any calories but I think I heard that it gets ya in another way.
  4. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) Busted selling counterfeit Superbowl tickets I like this part the best: Well the marijuana explains it all, they just had the munchies.
  5. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 09:22 PM) I will always hate Chris Berman. Back back back back back back back...stop the f***ing people from moving. jesus christ, were here for 2 hours and the fans cant stop moving around? Its like weve never been to a home run derby before! I wish he did that, then we wouldnt have to ever hear his crap announcing again. I remember the 2005 ALDS and all he talked about in the last game was how the Red Sox wouldnt be able to repeat championships, instead of how great the White Sox were playing. I could understand talking about that a little bit, but thats all he said.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) The roster spot Crisp would take would be Owens if it was up to me. There's a very good chance Owens is leading off for this team in 2008 if KW doesn't get anyone else. Would you rather have Owens or Crisp? Owens + Money saved + Prospects saved > Crisp
  7. QUOTE(max power @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) Doesn't the scale go up to 80? I think 76 is right. No, that game goes up to the usual 100, its not the scouting scale that they use, so really they say he should be a fringe starter/ backup in the future.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) What the Baseball Mogul game says about the trade: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v673/MW1...antanatrade.jpg I really do enjoy that game, but the prospects are all rated very poorly, so the trade would be very lopsided there (atleast current players put in as prospects). You can also notice that Santana is making about 12 mill for the next 3 years there, dont know where that came from. And as an example of the prospects, just look at F. Martinez, hes rated as 52/76, when his ceiling should be somewhere in the 90s. Still I got a good laugh out of it.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 06:30 PM) Cabrera - Swisher - Thome - Konerko - Dye - Fields - Pierzynski - Quentin - Richar This way you minimize the number of weak-ass punchless low OBP hitters at the top before you get the real baseball players. As much as I want Cabrera in the 2 hole, Im liking that lineup, and I think that Quentin could develop into a leadoff hitter with his OBP and good speed (not a huge threat to steal, but runs well) but maybe he has too much power for that spot.
  10. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) Yeah...with thousand dollar bills. Not a bad situation to be in.... Id rather have the money Pods made and the ring/memories/chance to be part of history than the dough that C-Lee is eating right now, but thats just me.
  11. So I was sorely depressed that Scrubs wasnt on last Thursday, as for some reason I thought that it was reairing then (thought I heard it somewhere). Needless to say Im really lost on when its coming back on, as I thought that they had some episodes already filmed that they would air. So whats up fellow addicts?
  12. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) Crede would probably be the worst third baseman in the NL East. Even Pedro Feliz? Or would he take over Feliz's spot? I like to believe that Crede is better, but then again Feliz atleast has been healthy, yet he sucks at the plate
  13. So this idea was brought up in a discussion with my dad recently in a talk over the leadoff spot: When Pods was a real threat to steal, in that first half of 2005, the next guys up to bat saw a lot more fastballs when he was on base. Atleast it seemed that way, and this was the cause from the threat of Pods to steal a base and the pitcher/catcher trying to catch him by throwing more fastballs so they would have a chance. I dont know if this is completely true, that a good-great basestealer gets in the head of pitchers and actually forces him to throw more fastballs is true, but if so I think that should be taken into account.
  14. Hmmm...I liked it for the sense that he actually makes, compared to Rogers and CO. Plus that quote intrigues me, does that mean we will draft differently? Or does it mean he'll stake his job on Jordan Danks becoming a better player than anyother guy available?
  15. I could see JD being shopped to the Mariners with this deal going down, wouldnt they need a right fielder? Plus he could really help out that offense. Maybe one of their young pitchers would work. Just throwing it out there. JD for Ichiro + cash!!
  16. Im liking McCain more than Romney because of what they said here in Michigan. Romney seemed kinda sleezy by saying that he would keep the automakers jobs here, and do everything he could to prevent the loss of those jobs. Not a bad message, just that its a bunch of false promises, the industry is going down bigtime, and there is little to do about it. I like McCain's honesty in coming out and saying that those jobs are going away, whether we liked it or not, and Michigan has a good oppurtunity to retrain itself and expand its economic possibilities. Of course the voters went with the guy that said tehy wouldnt have to retrain themselves.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) I'd say the Giants are more likely to deal Linecum than Cain at this point. Would anyone do Danks / Crede for Linecum for example? But I think with Schueler pushing for Crede, something is likely to happen here. I'd imagine Rowand would be pushing pretty hard for Joe as well. The Giants could be the White Sox of the NL soon. If you wanted Cain, I'd say we'd have to deal Paul Konerko possibly (can't remember who started for the Giants at 1B this season). Has Lincecum had injury issues in the past? I know he is small for a pitcher, and that may lead to injuries but I dont know of any that he actually has had. I believe Rich Auriellia was their first basemen, pretty sad if so.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 10:16 PM) I grew up in DG and always thought I was a more spread out suburbanite, or maybe even the country, until I moved down here. Now I dont think I could move farther away than Oak Park. One of the greatest places ever, man I hate that I had to move from there. Great place to raise a kid if anybody is interested, I know that I had a blast growing up there compared to Ann Arbor.
  19. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Everyone complained when Kerry didn't fight back in 2004 so what is he to do? I wish it never had to even come to fighting back. But we all know that will never be the case again.

    Heath Ledger Dies

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) If that doesn't whet your appetite for offensive actions and remarks regarding this man's death, here's Fox News host John Gibson spending the show mocking Mr. Ledger. Some of his comments are absolutely disgusting. I dont mind his idea of thinking that there was possibly something mentally wrong with Ledger as he was seriously thinking about death at such a young age( but whats wrong with a little philosophy on morality, isnt a good thing that people still have the ability to think?), but the way he said it was just completely wrong and degrading towards someone hes probably never met and definitely didnt know who he was personally. This guy, from the minute I listened to, is just a complete jackass and should be fired for his comments, and if not for that, just his overall rancid show/performance.
  21. 1) Chicago-- Be back there soon!! Cant wait!! I miss it sooo much 2) San Diego--- been in Carlsbad many times since my Grandma lives there, jsut lvoe the feeling of the air and the beaches. 3) Italy--- Im just gonna name the whole country because every city I went to I loved there, especially Rome and Venice. Capri/Naples was very cool to though, very similar I thought to California
  22. Maybe its because I am naive, which I openly admit as I only recently turned 18 and have not truly understood/followed politics until 3 or 4 years ago. but I liked Bill, for he seemed to be a very smart man who was able to bring many foreign leaders together, while also improving the economy. Please give me insight onto the situation if I am wrong on those matters. However, I feel that Bill has a right to endorse Hillary, for they still are husband and wife, but the way he is doing it is really hurting my perception of him. I wasnt goin to vote for Hillary, mainly because I have a feeling that she is very coldhearted and will only push people away (crying be damned, what a tool), and have been an Obama supporter in the past but its still just a freakin toss up for me.
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 11:53 PM) Come on YAS. Bush is a dick, but he's not THAT stupid. Atleast we hope. Gulp.
  24. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 11:37 PM) If Linebrink and Dotel step it up next year and Thorton-Macdougal rebound and Wasserman and Logan continue to get better than we could have one of the best pens in the league... good signing!! Which really could help the rotation this year too. If Vaz goes back to his old ways of 5 and done, then our depth will help out. Not to mention with Danks/Floyd still being questionmarks with Contreras right there with them, we may need to depend on the bullpen alot more this year. That may be fine if these guys can go into the 6th inning without imploding too much, for we seem to have a lot of depth now.
