Just wondering.....when was the last time the White Sox were in a race as close as this one is this late in the season?
-
I won't be happy we lose. I probably will be saying f*** the Twins and f*** the Yanks along with you too. Doesn't mean I won't be proud of being a White Sox fan.
-
Frank is as streaky as you get too. His streaks are much shorter though. He normally doesn't get into huge funks like PK does. Like for instance, in the past week, I would venture to guess that Frank's struck out atleast 10 times, and probably more like 15 times or so. Carlos is the same way. Remember last year? He hit like 10 homers in the first half and ended up with, what, 25 or so? He hit like .240 in the first half and hit like .280 in the second half. He drew no walks in the first half, drew a very, very good amount in the second half. Everett is as bad as Frank in the streakiness category, if not worse. He'll get into 0-11 streaks and 0-20 streaks, and then have streaks where he'll go 7-10 and 15-20, etc. Point is, there is no player on this team who is really consistent and never gets in a funk. They'll all usually have the same numbers by the end of the year(except this year, Paully's numbers will be a little lower then his career average....stress the words 'a little lower')

That is a very good post, and very well thought out. I see both perspectives here, but this one is probably the best reply on here.
-
But points don't go out for a team that has played .650 ball the second half of the season? If we lose the division by 1 game, then you pat the Twins/Royals on the back, and congratulate them. We will have played a hell of a season, regardless.
-
Someone ought to e-mail him and let him know how much of an idiot he is. CWSOX45 Won't do any good. He already knows it. Now if someone would email ESPN and notify them of it....
-
Oh, speaking of that, Agassi....it is a thing of beauty watching him play sometimes. Those drop shots and lob shots.....in-frickin-credible. I can only wonder how good their(speaking of Steffi and Andre's kid here) is going to be.
-
Well then you need to pull your head out of your ass and realize that only ONE team wins it all every year.....odds are, it will not be the White Sox.
-
WHO THE f*** CARES? Jesus f***ing Christ, get a clue. That is over with, and we have played like .650 ball since the ASB. You wonder why several of us would be proud of this team.
-
Holy s***, I've seen just a little of ARodd.....that's not fair. How do you beat that guy? He only serves it 140-150 MPH.....if he's getting that in, just retire. It's better then getting hit in the face by it(which one guy did earlier this week). He's a cock-ass, but he's in that Jeremy Shockey group as far as I'm concerned. If you can back it up, you can talk. If not, don't open you're mouth.
-
Why? Because they pulled through that horrid first half and have made it a hell of a race. Proved that douchebag Joe Posnanski wrong too. "No team has ever won a division after being down 7 or more at the ASB." Mr. Douchebag also doesn't realize that not only do the Royals blow major ass, but that no team has ever won a division after losing 100 games the previous season(which has been brought up numerous times on here). I just wanna say "Hey Joe, I thought you guaranteed us that the Royals were gonna win the division. What happened to that fuctard?"

As did I. I just look at everything, and post on the threads that aren't garbage.

Yes you are But your sig makes up for it

Two good reasons NOT to be a Dolphins fan

Yeah, I know, I know. :finger
-
Ah yes. The Music City Miracle. That play ROCKED!!!!!! :finger I think, as far as football is concerned, that was the worst day of my life. Had I been old enough to remember "The Kick", that could have been....but I was like 4 then. Those 4 Super Bowl losses..... But that was no backward pass. I remember watching that in live TV, and that was so a forward pass it wasn't funny. You can show me all the diagrams and angles you want to.....you won't prove it to me. Worst.call.ever in the entire sports world(even worse then Willie Wilson(I think that's who that was, right?) in 1985)

Just curious(this is me being ignorant and lazy, so sorry about that), but what is Notre Dame's schedule this year?
-
Don't let a few people ruin something for you. It's tough, but atleast try to sort through stuff you don't like. That's what I do.
-
No I didn't. I figured that earlier tonight. But I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.
-
No, I'm loving the updates. Keep em coming.

The starting rotation. Aside from the #5 starter, we have a rotation of big game pitchers. It seems like every time we are down and losing momentum, one of them is stepping up somehow and getting a big W for us. Like for instance, the other day, we had lost 3 in a row, including 2 of those being very, very tough losses to a good Boston team(2 games we could have and possibly should have won), and what's Jon, our #4 starter, do but go out and give us a near shutout(and then the pen tried to make it interesting). You wonder why I love our chances not only getting to the postseason, but then going deep in the postseason.
-
They won't lose a series, maybe. I even have my doubts about that though. Detroit has seemingly become a much tougher team over the past few weeks, and they took Halladay to extra innings. This may not seem like a lot, but the Tigers could realistically get 45-50 wins. For them, that would be great at this point. Them and Cleveland are tougher then people think. Sounds strange, but the DRays have done it for 2 straight years now, and are once again doing it(they beat Oakland today 7-4). If the Sox sweep the last 7 games against Minny, the season is over. KC is fading quickly. It seemingly is becoming a 2-team race once again.
-
As do I. That's great baseball to watch. A few hit and runs would be nice too. We tried it against Boston the other night and backfired a little. Could have should have worked out better, but what can you do. Like I've said before....I love agressive baseball. You just can't be overagressive(ie Rowand trying to score against Boston)
-
The Sox should go back to those unis for next year. That would be f***ing awesome.

If JR is willing to dish the dough, Buehrle will probably get a Zito-type deal, only a little more favorable to Buehrle money wise(maybe 4-years, $16-20 mill or something with Buehrle getting around $2 mill this year with him getting around $7-$8 mill his last year). Colon's as good as gone....it would take a miracle to resign him. Loaiza has an option for $3.5 mill next year....he's gonna be a member of the White Sox next year, guaranteed. Garland would be lucky to get $2 mill, let alone $3. He'll most likely end up around $1 mill. Wright will get as close to the league minimum as possible. We have an option for Gordon next year at around I believe $1.5 mill....that will be picked up. Marte probably will end up at around $2 mill, Sullivan will either get $1 mill tops or he is gone, Schoenweis will probably get around $1.5 mill, Wunsch will get $750,000(I'd rather bring in Stanton instead...atleast Stanton can throw more then an inning at a time) or he is gone, and Koch will get the $6 mill(worst move ever....as Killa has said, let's give a guy a guaranteed contract when he hasn't even thrown a pitch in a White Sox uniform....f***ing idiots). That's the bullpen. Robby will make $3 mill tops next year....his skills have diminished offensively, and that's enough for that big of a pay cut. His defense is still superb though. A great reason to keep him is his defense. Carlos will make $7 mill tops....for all I care, if he wants more then that, we can trade his ass. He hasn't walked enough this year or played smart enough to deserve more then that(if he were a great player, he would have a .300 average, 30-35 homers and 110 RBI now....the problem is is that he keeps trying to kill the ball EVERY time.....he takes a shorter hack at it from time to time and he'll get more hits and the pitcher will try to get too perfect, he'll make a mistake, and then you hit that pitch 900 miles....Carlos is too stupid to do that). Frank will get his option picked up one way or the other, and he seems happy here, so I don't think he'll exercise his right to become a FA. Count him in at $6 or $8 mill. Maggs is here for $14 mill....a hefty price, but he does have a good stick. He won't get that kind of money in the future though. Everett, as far as I'm concerned, is as good as gone. If we could get him back for $5 mill, I'd be fine with trading Carlos away for some prospects or make him part of a blockbuster deal(maybe include Koch and get a good arm or two for the bullpen or getting a good arm for the rotation) and using Everett in LF, but odds are, that won't happen. Konerko will be here at $8 mill. Valentin will be here at $5 mill, or maybe we could work it out and get him here at $3 mill as well. Crede will get maybe $500,000. I believe he is technically a 3rd year player, so $500,000 is decent cash. And Miguel will most likely get very close to the league minimum. Graffy will probably be kept at around $750,000-$1 mill....something around there. Michael Rivera will probably be brought up as the backup catcher, making near the league minimum, Rowand and Harris will make around the league minimum, and a cheap LH bat will probably be brought in for the bench(possibly Daubach being brought back). Add those numbers up, and you'll figure out our payroll for next year. I'm a lazy ass, and I don't wanna add them up.
