Wait a second....base running mistake? You mean Jose getting thrown out at 3rd? That play was pure luck. Kennedy barely got his foot on the base, he threw the ball from his knees, and Amezaga had to make a hell of a play to get Jose. There was nothing wrong with that play. On any given night, we could have a runner on the corner with one out or runners on the corners with no outs. It just so happened that the Angels kind of lucked out and got Jose at 3rd.

Didn't Harden come up from AAA?
-
Hey, maybe the Royals will sign him again. Afterall, they do have a fancy with signing washed-up old pitchers who got released by their current teams for a reason.
-
Exactly

I second that I will go as far as to say a lot of credit for our resurgent offense can go to Carl. The fact that we had a dangerous LH bat that was actually dangerous(Daubach? Liefer in 01? I don't think so). Best trade of the 3 made at the deadline.

If Koch does have surgery and is out all next year, wouldn't insurance cover his salary?

We are a social group. Topics do get off the original topic quite often. So what? If we talked about just White Sox baseball, and nothing else, it would get lame. If the topics never wandered away from the original topic, it would get lame. The unpreictability of this board is what makes it so fun and so much different from other boards. And the fact that you can use nearly any word you want, unless it is used in a way to offend a person or a group of people, also makes this board one of a kind. There aren't many boards around where they allow you to say "f*** you you cocksucker." Here, we are allowed to say it to players who are in the organization.

The solution to all of our 5th starter woes!

No, that's who KC is going to sign next. I mean, if you sign Lima and Appier, Navarro has got to be right behind, no? -
Pink Floyd! How the hell did I forget him? Just another brick in the wall is great. Also...did anyone mention Alice Cooper? I think HSC, but I can't remember. That school's out song is a must after school has been dismissed for the last time and summer vacation starts.

Agreed. I took out the fact that he is a member here(although he is and we love him), because if Jon Adkins makes his ML debut and goes 2 1/3 innings while walking 6, no one here should say "f*** you Jon, you f***ing suck you cocksucking piece of s***". I created a "f*** you Billy Koch" thread. Why? Because he has continually sucked throughout the year and there were very high expectations for this guy coming into the year. He was supposed to be the piece that turned the bullpen from being good to great. Then him and his 92 MPH fastball showed up, and his 6.00 ERA showed up, and he started serving up GW homer after GW homer, and it finally gets to you. We won. Why should we care about how Neal did? He knows as well as we know that he did not pitch well, but I'm sure he is just fine with the outcome of the game. He just needs to forget about that outing and go out and beat the Rangers his next time out.

Agreed.

When I saw on the bottom line on ESPNews "White Sox put Billy Koch on 15-day DL(soreness in elbow)" I said two things: It's about f***ing time and I bet he needs surgery. You will f*** up your elbow big time if you continually throw 98 MPH heaters for 95 innings. It finally caught up to him in the postseason, and then here too.

My guess would be is that that is not enough work. Starters are used to pitching with 4 days rest, and if you only have 3 real good starters, and you use a 6-man rotation, you then get into the postseason and you have you 1-2-3 punch switching from a rotation where they get 5-days rest to one where they get 3-days. That just doesn't work that way. Your body needs to know what it does and it needs to prepare for it. If a team has a good 4-man rotation, I figure they probably could go with a 6-man rotation. Maybe they try a guy and he emerges as a good starter.

They make that 34 million miles seem close. Come to think of it, it is close, as far as space is concerned. Damn, space is big

I've played Doom....and I've played a Duke Nukem game before too.

Deep Purple....that is classic rock. Smoke on the Water had got to be my favorite classic rock song. You gotta like the guitar in that. f***ing awesome. Can't go wrong with a little Lynyrd Skynyrd(I think I spelled that right). Free Bird, Sweet Home Alabama, and That Smell are all good tunes. Aerosmith is pretty damn good too. Several good ones from him(Ragdoll, Janie's got a gun, Crying, Dream On(which is my favorite Aerosmith song), and several other Aerosmith songs too). Queen is good too....Fat Bottomed Girls, Another one bites the dust, Bohemian Rhapsody, We will rock you, We are the champions(those two should be back-to-back), Crazy Little Thing called love Boston, who's already been mentioned Led Zeppelin, who has also already been mentioned. Hendrix is stellar....Purple Haze and Foxy Lady are my personal favorites from him. Kiss is great too (that tongue is supposed to be longer though) ACDC is good....several good ones from them Santana will undoubtedly have some killer guitar, if you're into that The Who is always good The Doors are great(just don't get peed on! ) Bob Dylan has a few good ones The Rolling Stones have several good songs(though some of them say some not so nice things) Tom Petty is a good one There are a ton. If I can think of some more artists, I'll let ya know One more thing.... :begood

Ha, over the past two days, we have gained NO ground and lost NO ground I'd much rather tread water then lose ground. Then again, I'd much rather gain ground then tread water.
-
LOL Poor Paulie. He gets so much s*** from us. I think the better question is....who is faster(or slower, whichever your liking)....Konerko or Karros?
-
spelling our own players' names right is kind of important, I certainly agree baseball is a game of stats and spelling is one of them otherwise Berry/Barry trades happen! That is exactly right. I laugh every time I think of that. KW

That is being nervous and jittery. There is no pressure involved. You think he cares what thousands of people think about him? He apparently didn't in AA. He was just doing the best he could to win, and he just didn't have his control tonight....due to him being nervous. ...on the front 4. Esteban, Colon, Buehrle, and Garland are supposed to give us a quality start every time, no questions asked. If they don't, this late in the year with the race as close as it is, it is not a good start. As I said before, the #5 spot in the rotation will be used like 3 more times this year. Worst case scenario, we lose 3 or 4 games because of it. Those games most likely will not make or break the season. If we lose the division by a game, you can say it is, but I wouldn't. We have missed what seems like hundreds of opportunities to gain good ground. We have lost to the Tigers 1-0 twice, we lost to them I believe 2-1, we lost to them 4-2, we lost to the DRays 3-2, we lost to them 4-3, we lost to the Orioles 1-0, we lost to the Royals 13-9 in a game we should have won....I could go on and on. Once again, how Neal pitches will not make or break this season. If he pitches well, that's a bonus. If he wins a game or two, that's incredibly good. If not, no big deal. Like I said, there is no pressure on him, though I should clarify that. The only pressure there is is the pressure he puts on himself. What will make or break this year is how the front 4 pitch and how the bullpen pitches. The offense will be there. We are starting to hit the ball much, much better.

It is Neal, not Neil. Kind of like calling Jose Valentin, Jose Valentine. It is a pet peeve of many people, including myself.

though i wouldn't mind a grand slam one of these times when we have the bases loaded and no outs... Or at the very least, a base clearing double? Or a 2-run single? It doesn't kill me when we ground into a 4-6-3 with the bases loaded, because it brings in a run.....but goddamn it gets old really fast.
-
Yeah, make it say "It ain't Comiskey f***IN Park anymore"
-
Good, I'm glad we didn't homer. Just goes to show that you can win and put up crooked numbers without hitting the ball out of the ballpark. I like that style of play.
