I will be leaving him some feedback. If you guys wanna read it, here it is I would just like to leave Joe Posnanski a little advice. Joe, if you are going to write, take the rose-colored glasses off. Look at things objectively. And realize that the Royals can do wrong, unlike what you think. You are calling the White Sox cocky? Wasn't it you just a week or two ago that GUARANTEED that the Royals would win the division? How about how the White Sox are "buying their way to the top of the division" when in reality, they are just making moves to strengthen their ballclub, like any other team would do at the trade deadline(like for instance, the Kansas City Royals). If I recall correctly, you said that the White Sox essentially bought Everett and Alomar(and I assume you think they bought Schoeneweis too), yet, in each of those deals, they gave up something of good value. In the Alomar deal, they gave up a first-round draft pick and a pitcher that is already in the Mets bullpen. In the Everett deal, they gave up a pitcher who has a fastball that is one of the best in the White Sox organization, a player who has 5-tool talent, and a pitcher who could end up being a very good reliever for the Rangers(though all are at A-ball), and in the Schoeneweis deal, they gave up Gary Glover, who is a veteran in the majors. Meanwhile, the Royals are the ones doing the buying. Afterall, they did buy Al Levine from the Devil Rays, didn't they? That's what it looked like to me. Tampa traded Al Levine to Kansas City for cash? They didn't even give up a player, they BOUGHT him. You may be appealing to the fans of the Royals, but to many others, you are a laughing-stock. If you would like to change your outlook, please look at baseball, and specifically the Royals, objectively. The White Sox have a much better lineup and a much better starting rotation, and at the very least, the bullpens are very close, talent wise. Maybe the only thing the Royals have working in their favor is a great manager, and Tony Pena IS a great manager(see, that's your first lesson....that's called being objective). If you have the courage to defend yourself, email me back at [email protected]. Yes, I'm a White Sox fan, and I find your columns funny as hell. Signed, Blake Simon We'll see what happens in the next week or so

Just this past weekend something quite embarassing happened to me. First off, let me start my story by letting everyone know that I hate to dance. You'd probably have to get 4 or 5 beers in me to get me doing more then slow dancing. And I also hate country music, with the exception of a few songs. Anyways, we went to a wedding this weekend, and that was all fun and what not, and then we went to the party afterwards, had supper, had dessert, listened to the bride and groom speak, and just kind of mingled a little after that. Then they started playing music. So, I just kind of thought, I'll hang in the restaurant area of this place, maybe watch some kids play pool, and watch the Sox a little(because they were on WGN). Well, the Sox got down big time, and some kids that had no idea how to play pool at all were playing, and it was just boring as hell. So I decided to go out and watch people dance. So, after watching like 2 or 3 songs of people dancing, some cousins of mine started trying to drag me in. I figured if they want me in so much, I'll do it. So I did, for like 2 dances(and it was this real twangy ass country s***). Then I did the dollar dance and everything that followed, and then they started dancing again. I just said I'll just watch again. So that's exactly what I did(though that was hard enough as there was more twangy ass country s***). And they tried dragging me in again....and I got stubborn, and I wouldn't go in. I ran to a chair, grabbed on for dear life, and they couldn't get me out. So my sister, who is drunk as hell, decides to try and drag me out by my shirt. That was a real nice move. Within 10 seconds of pulling on it, it tears, and half of my back is showing. So I kind of play it cool, walk out, go to the hotel, change, and come back. Let's just say many people realized that my shirt ripped, and it wasn't fun the rest of the night. If anything else comes to me, I'll post that too.

f*** Steinbrenner. I've been waiting for karma to get that piece of s*** for quite some time now. It hasn't happened yet.

To your chevy? I thought you were 13. And all I gotta say is that is one mean ass chevy. I mean, they are like a rock, but I mean come on. They don't have that much juice.

I'm kind of split. I see both sides of the argument. It does draw interest from non-basketball fans, but I would venture to bet that some fair-weather fans of the NBA just said "screw the NBA....one of the marquee players in the game is out raping girls, forget it." I was going to bring up how the attendance after the ump was attacked was 8,000, but that was a totally different case in itself.

:fyou Choice you piece of s***!

Hey, it could be worse. It could be like Wright and Halama(who I know was in their rotation earlier in the year) or something like that. Or we could be playing Detroit and it could be Wright against any Tiger starter.
-
You will, don't worry

I agree , I know I had fun today Until Flash came in, right?

Marte and Gordon have more blown saves because they have been used as setup men as well as in the closer-by-committee role. If you blow the lead as a setup man, you are credited with a blown save, and not a blown hold. That does NOT tell of how they have pitched this year. Koch has been tried as closer, and tried as closer, and tried as closer. He is obviously not suited for closer....or atleast he isn't this year. If you can't save a game where you have a 2-run lead against the DRays, you are not a good closer.

His line is exactly what I'd expect from a #5 pitcher. He ate up some innings, and he gave his team a chance to win. It's too bad we'll only use the #5 starter like 4 more times. I don't want to give up even a fringe prospect for that kind of guy. I still like my idea more then anything else(I wonder why?... )
-
Flash Gordon, and when he is tired(like when he only got one day's rest after throwing 44 pitches), then it is Marte.
-
Wasn't it a great crowd though? I mean, you consider the fact that it is an afternoon game in the middle of the week...that's a hell of a crowd. That to me shows one thing....people are excited about the White Sox once again. Doesn't it feel great?
-
We wanted to, at the very least, keep it interesting Now that I look back on it though, I wouldn't have minded Koch coming in. He would have done as well, if not better, then Flash did today.
-
Those aren't quite the numbers he was putting up a few years ago....but I'll admit, they are better then I thought he had. However, I was just saying I didn't know why the Twins would get him, when they need pitching. And now that you mention it, I don't see why he'd go to the Cubs. The last older 1Bman that went there via trade that waived his no-trade clause helped them lose the division....that guy being Fred McGriff.
-
Oh, but BMR, it's so EASY! If Koch gets hurt, guess what....blame Manuel! If we get no-hit....blame Manuel! If Garland gets lit up...blame Manuel! If the stock market falls....blame Manuel! If the Packers win the Superbowl(God forbid they ever do that again).....blame Manuel! OK, on a more serious note, I agree 100%.

Hsc is a good person, and she knows her baseball, but she lets her emotions get in the way. Colon is a very good pitcher with the potential to be dominant. I assume when you said "He has the potential to be dominant" you mean he can dominate any given night he pitches, correct? True, but what i really meant is he has the potential to become one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball, and soon. You mean like what he did last year, correct? The same guy who went 20-8 with like a 2.93 ERA. If that Bartolo Colon shows up this year, we are in first place, and Loz and Colon both probably have something like 30 combined wins already. That's the pitcher I want to see 90% of the time if we resign him.
-
I guess we can agree on that part. But if Koch gets the last 2 outs or whatever, I don't think we crucify him as much.
-
He's not the hitter he once was. He's still going to hit 30-40 homers a year, but that's about all he can do. Regardless, they do NOT need a bat. If they want to get back into the race, they need a stud starter. Odds are, they won't get on via trade. They'll have to hope Lohse steps up(like he did tonight) to get back into the race. If they traded for Kelvim Escobar and he dominated as a starter, I'd say they have a good shot and I'd be more worried about them then I am now.

The Royals are bush. :fyou them

If we give up s*** for Thomson, I'd be willing to do the deal. I'm just not sold that we need to make a trade for another starter. It's like I said in another thread....just bring up Diaz, Adkins, Stewart, and West and use each of them in the remaining 4 or 5 starts we have left from the #5 spot.
-
He should have gone out and gotten him after about 25-30. Nothing wrong with bringing Botch into a game when the game is already out of hand.

44 hits and 24 walks in 52.1 innings? That's a WHIP of 1.30. No thanks.
