  1. A triple short of the cycle. Could you imagine if Frank got a triple? Holy s***...that'd be killer. BTW....Frank Thomas average watch...he's up to .269....still in 3rd, but is now only 2 points behind Maggs, who is at .271. DJ lazy-ass is at .305. He's gonna be a helluva hitter. I just hate his attitude. If he had any work ethic at all, he'd be the next Robby Alomar, no question. Because he does not know what work ethic is, he is never going to be noticed. Hell, you could have a good work ethic and you might not get noticed....ala Magglio Ordonez.
  2. That's just a great example of what kind of player Jose Valentin is. One of those players that seems like he hits about .050 in innings 1-6 and seems like he hits .800 in the late innings. He is the best late inning hitter in the game. If we are down by 1 with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs in game 7 of the World Series....I want Jose Valentin up there.
  3. One name. Gary Ward :fyou FIRE GARY WARD!
  4. He's been struggling, yet still getting on base. As sad and pathetic as this next thing I'm about to say is....it's true Frank Thomas, with an average of .263, has the third highest average out of any of our starting players....though I'm not sure about Olivo. Very, very, very sad. It makes me want to :puke
  5. I am apparently not the only one on the "Fire Gary Ward" bandwagon.
  6. f***....now their OF will probably be Mohr, Hunter, Kielty from left to right. They still all kill us. Losing Jones isn't that big of a deal. Wait a second....who on the Twins DOESN'T kill us?
  7. To cwsox and Jas....saying Jose is overrated....that bugs me. That's because I'm a Jose fan. However...I do agree that all you have to do is feed him curve balls and he'd hit s***. What you have to do is put a very fast leadoff guy in front of him....in this case, I'd even take Harris. If he has a .330 OBP....that'd be good enough. Then he is fast enough that he can steal and be safe on any curve ball....and because you don't want to get to the #3 hitter, whoever it may be, because they are a good enough hitter to bring in the runner from second....you feed Jose fastballs and sliders with the runner on first. He'd still hit for power....and he has incredible range. Nomar Garciaparra makes 20-25 errors a year. I don't see you guys complaining about what a s***ty defensive SS he is. If I have to have a weak spot on my defense....it's that our gloves are not good....but, along with those s***ty gloves, we have great range. With great range, you get game saving plays...should be doubles become singles, should be triples become doubles, should be homers become outs(or in Eric Byrnes's case, they become triples ). They'll boot a few....but they'll get the hard ones, and it will all even out in the end. Errors are overrated. This is why, IMO, we do not need a guy like DJ. I hate to bring this up again....but people don't realize how much Ray Durham really meant to this team. Which is why I am in favor of getting Castillo....and I'd give up DJ if that's what they wanted. It's do or die this year, right? If we win....we resign Colon first, then Castillo, then get Maggs locked up long term....etc, etc, etc. If we don't....we don't resign these guys....and we go back to rebuilding.....again. Simple as that. It's hard....but that's what we'd have to do
  8. Atleast he has some other pitches working for him. That alone makes me a little happier.
  9. For someone who watched...how did Koch look? Was he bringing heat, or what? cdub45.....you ain't the only one concerned about the offense. Get Ward out ASAP.
  10. I guess that was a big enough lead for Manuel.
  11. Exactly how I felt. And most people here don't think Manuel has balls. He proved those nay-sayers wrong tonight. Even I considered grabbing the Pepto tonight....but didn't need it. It just proves one more thing....this organization IS getting a little smarter regarding coaches. Last year, had we had Koch, he'd be on the DL right now with a torn labrum or a torn rotator cuff. This year, with Cooper, he gets his fourth (or however many it is) save of the year. The bullpen is now going to be headed in the right direction, IMO. The two pitchers struggling the most - Gordon and Koch - both came through and helped us get a win. Pretty good game, especially if you like pitcher's duels. And we beat Daal's ass....serves that son of a b**** right for turning down the contract we offered him and signing with a s***ty-ass team in Baltimore.
  12. How in the hell did he just do that?
  13. Once KW is out of here....we will win more games than we have. Once Gary Ward is out of here....we will be a very good team. Not so sure about Manuel anymore.
  14. If this team remembers how to win a series....that would be huge right about now. I think the last series we won was against Minnesota. That was like 2 weeks ago.
  15. I lost count of how long it has been. All I know is that it has been too long. This is some crazy s***.
  16. AS A COMPLETE JOKE, let's hope that in the next two games, the Metrodome takes off and just flies away to Africa. That way, it would only be the Tigers, Indians, and White Sox in our division....and we'd have it easy. We'd still find a way to lose.
  17. I may be beating a dead horse here....but HSC, what do you mean by that? Is Koch going to be traded or put on the DL or what?
  18. OK....thanks. Actually, he's probably just going to say something like the Cubs have played better than the White Sox up to this point. I can only do one thing....acknowledge the fact that he's right. And then I'll remind him that it is still May, and that the better record means more in September than it does in mid-May.
  19. The sun would rise in the west and set in the east.
  20. How about "we suck right now, but in the past, we've been better then you, though still mediocre." :fyou the White Sox
  21. Right now...Thomas is worth more than Konerko...that's for damn sure. They're all playing s***ty. What can you do?
  22. Atleast someone in the organization has a clue.
