  1. Bud Selig's Brewers are going to suck-ass....so why would they schedule good teams to play them on weekends? That would take away from those teams. However, I wish we did have more home games against the Twins....it'd be better for the team....and why couldn't we get Boston or New York on a weekend or more than just Oakland from the AL West? I guess whoever makes the schedules isn't a White Sox fan Hopefully Detroit busts out and contends....that doesn't sound right at all. Detroit contending?
  2. I guess I figured Manuel and stats had a voice in whether Borchard is up or down....but I guess not. KW acts like God sometimes....saying this and that WILL happen....how the hell does he know that Harris won't get hurt or he hits about .230 in ST or that Rowand will be ready....if Harris and Rowand obviously aren't ready, then who are we going to put in CF, Josh Paul? Armando Rios? Please....I'd be looking for Borchard to take CF if either of the above occurred.
  3. Jim....I think you can make it. Hell, if you look at most of the lefties in the league, they don't throw much harder than 93 or 94.....and that's at the most. Kirk Reuter rarely gets above 90 for the Giants and our own Mark Buehrle touches 92 every once in a while, right? It's all about how you pitch, and not necessarily how hard you throw it....I look for results and to see how the guy pitches....not how fast his fastball is(unless you're a bullpen guy). Stick with it...I am crossing my fingers for you to get up to the big leagues.
  4. If they vote on DH's, I got one name for you... Manny Ramirez - east coast fan bias....he's already a lock if they do
  5. He's just huge....I guess it's kind of hard to tell if a guy that big is in shape or not
  6. I'm thinking Koch as well...and maybe if lucky, Olivo could make it there. We'd have to be damn lucky to get Olivo there.
  7. Found it.... Site I guess 60 games wasn't on there
  8. I think there is like 60 games played or 45 days on the 25-man roster as well(meaning if 25 of your 45 days came in September, it wouldn't count) I think I have it somewhere...I'll go look for it.
  9. I will be very excited about this year if one thing happens....we get Carlos Beltran. We missed out on getting Cruz....but getting Beltran would increase the production of our lineup by an extraordinary amount. And in all reality, I would give up one of our finer young arms in our system to get him....maybe a Malone, Ginter, and Stewart package...because we'd get excellent production from many of our guys, and this would be a year to remember. Assuming we got Beltran, our lineup would be this... Jimenez - 2B Valentin - SS Thomas - DH Maggs - RF Beltran - CF Konerko - 1B Lee - LF Crede - 3B Olivo - C In that lineup, the only guys you can pitch around or Crede and Olivo....because if you pitch around Jimenez, you face Valentin, who is very good with runenrs on base....you pitch around Valentin, and you face Thomas....pitch around Thomas, you get Maggs...pitch around Maggs, you got Beltran....and it keeps going on until you get to Crede. You can then pitch around Crede to get to Olivo, and if Crede has a little speed at all, Olivo could see some fastballs to keep Crede from stealing. If Olivo hits .260, he could get quite a few RBIs....anyways, assuming one, just one of Jimenez and Olivo produces up to their potential, this lineup could be the best lineup in White Sox history....hell, one of the best in the history of the major leagues. You could be up on this lineup 7-0 in the 3rd inning and be down 10-7 by the 6th...and then the game would be over with our deep and talented bullpen. Hand the ball to Glover/White, hand it to Marte, hand it to Gordon, hand it to Koch....game over. Say Beltran leads off an inning....and he signles. Konerko will then see a hell of a lot of fastballs to keep Beltran from stealing 2nd....and as we all know Konerko is a very good fastball hitter....for oppising pitchers, that is not a good mix....meaning Konerko could drive a double to the gap or even go deep. That is a big reason Konerko could bust out for the year and hit maybe 40 homers. If Thomas produces like he can, Valentin will have a big year, Thomas will have a big year, Maggs will have a big year, Beltran will, Konerko, Lee.....it is like a chain reaction. We could bat through the lineup twice and it wouldn't surprise me. Anyways, that's wishful thinking on my part and a lot of things would have to go our way for something like that to happen....but it's possible.

    KW

LDF, you realize that getting high is bad for your health, right?
  11. Jon Rauch - ROY As for rookies we will have....Rauch is one, Olivo, Harris is, Crede is close, and that's about it(unless Almonte breaks with the team at ST).
  12. How about... Lee, Andy Gonzalez, and David Sanders for Tejada....we move Jose to 2B(Manuel the tinkerer) and have Jimenez refine his skills in AAA(though I think his skills are fine for now)....we have good range up the middle and resign Tejada in the offseason....use Jimenez at 2B from then on out. If only....I'd actually prefer to get Beltran though....we are very weak in CF, and not as weak at SS...and it would cost less, and he's worth more. I'd like either....but Beltran more than Tejada.
  13. If JR figures out that high priced tickets won't sell unless you are in Boston or New York, then we'll be fine....problem is, I don't see him figuring that out.
  14. Hey, it's not like he said he likes Chip and Joe...you have to be a Cub fan AND drunk to like them.
  15. Oh jeezus that would suck ass....I guess, for that reason alone, I'm glad I don't live in Canada.
  16. mooch....I'd put Jimenez at the top and put Beltran at the #5 spot...break up all our righties, and with Beltran's speed, he could leg out more doubles and triples for us....giving Konerko and Lee more RBI opportunities. I don't like the idea of having a 30 homer guy at the top of the lineup....never have.
  17. Supernuke...I take it you dont like the Blue Jays
  18. One thing bugs me, and it is about one of Manuel's decisions...why in the hell is he going to throw Colon on opening day? I want Buehrle to pitch then...not Colon. Buehrle's earned it over the last 3 years. Does Manuel not understand that without Buehrle, we wouldn't be where we are?

    KW

Kevin Towers is up with Billy Beane....but I don't put Gillick in that boat. He's in the upper eschelon of GMs....unlike KW....but he's not as good as Billy Beane or Kevin Towers. If we could get Kevin Towers, that'd be f***in cool
  20. Good...atleast we won't see someone like David Eckstein or JT Snow or someone like that make it now. I could see them picking towards having a bias towards the hometown team(say maybe take Joe Crede over Robin Ventura even if Ventura's numbers are slightly better). Another thing I think they should get rid of is having every team represented. I don't like the fact that we have to see a guy like Robert Fick or Randy Winn be in the All-Star game as a representative of his team while a guy like Jim Thome or Magglio Ordonez has to sit on his ass and watch the All-Star game. And then if they could take away fan voting as a whole....I wouldn't mind that either....though that's probably a little out of the question.
  21. I wish two things when it comes to the Cubs... I hope they suck I hope we beat the s*** out of them in the crosstown series If those two things happen, I'm happy with the performance of the Cubs...and usually, those two things happen. The team I am worried about how we stack up against is Minnesota
  22. Click here It is an article on Froemming I believe...but that's not the point....check the very last line in the entire article....it says something to the extent of "US Cellar Corp will yadda yadda yadda." US Cellar Field? That wouldn't be too good....good thing it is just a typo!
  23. If someone in the rotation has a Ritchie like year, I'll be surprised....I think we have one of the better staffs as a whole in baseball. I believe our key to success is not on the pitching side of the ball....it is up the middle. If Jose puts up respectable numbers, like he has the past two years, than we won't have to worry about him...I'm more worried about Jimenez at 2B, Olivo at C, and whoever the hell plays CF(whether it be Rowand, Harris or Borchard, or maybe Rios, if he can play there)....I am mostly worried about CF....I don't want Harris to start there. That is a disaster waiting to happen almost. We need more team speed, but I want it to come in the form of atleast a .265 average, and I'm not sure Harris could put up even that. If he can produce like he did when he came up the first time, I won't mind it as much....but he has to realize that he'll be hitting from the #9 spot in the order if he did make the team as the starting CFer. And then we'd have to have a backup CFer in case Rowand isn't ready for that.
