  4. QUOTE(Calderon @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) On a scale of one to ten, with seven being the highest, I'm about a green. ur so goofy
  5. QUOTE(buckweaver @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 07:09 AM) I think you're wrong, here. This is the equivalent of the Sox giving Toby Hall and Jerry Owens. Schneider is the 2000s Jamie Quirk--a good backup catcher that finds a new team every year or two that needs a backup catcher. And as the Mets are offering every available catcher a contract these days, he certainly was expendable. Church is the second coming of Rob Mackowiak with, possibly, a little more upside. I'm thinking the Mets really just thought Church could occupy left field/fourth OFer spot serviceably while being a lot less of a headache. Schneider's twice the player Hall is defensively, so you can forget that thought all together. The fact that he's also better offensively kills that. And the fact that you are comparing Church to Owens is sad as hell. Church is like twice the player Owens is; he has been a very good player throughout his career and just hasn't seen regular playing time for whatever reason.
  6. QUOTE(Lemon_44 @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 04:49 AM) I'm not so sure now. The Mets didn't exactly break the bank for Milledge. Church is solid but nothing great and a defensive catcher who hit .235 last year is less than what i thought they could get for Milledge. Find me two equal players in the White Sox sytem for Milledge; you can't without naming DLS. The Mets got a good deal, and they can counter until everything works
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) From Rotoworld via The Tampa Tribune: Hilarious What a f***in psycho
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) No flatout denial means he is still being looked at in some respect. I'm sure every CF option is being looked at in some respect; even Jerry Owens, Ryan Sweeney, and Brian Anderson.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) where can the original 2 girls 1 cup video be found?? www.2girls1cup.com
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) Wilson or Uribe would have been good fits for that team. Still could be; I don't think you can quite count on Izturis starting yet. Still, the Cards are in a really rough position right now, and it's probably going to get uglier before it gets prettier.

  13. QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 07:56 AM) Look at the injury history. Age is the only advantage Rowand has over Hunter. I would give Rowand a 5 year deal. Rowand has injured himself using an ATV and by running face first into a fence. Hunter has had ankle injuries and played on artificial turf; doesn't it seem fair to think that Rowand is also a better to stay healthy?
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) I didn't say anything about 2005 or 2007 just 2006. How did he do in high pressure situations during the stretch run of '06 and just '06? First batter - .185/.214/.185 Leadoff - .120/.154/.160 RISP - .207/.303/.241 Men on - .244/.326/.268 0 out - .103/.133/.138 (1 HBP) 1 out - .231/.231/.256 2 out - .265/.375/.382 (all 6 of his walks) he sucked throughout
  15. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:49 AM) Of course we are better offensively with Cabrera rather than Uribe, but it's entirely possible Floyd has negative value next year. We've seen the effects of a hole in the rotation far too much as Sox fans. If hypothetically, all 3 produce the same numbers other than Floyd, he'd have to have a way worse overall season than he did last year; that's how god-awful bad he has to be. And then he would have to throw 150 innings of way worse than last year. I'm really not worried in the least.
  16. The Sox were willing to go 5 years for Hunter, but not for Rowand? That's absolutely ridiculous; Rowand's the better bet to age well and stay healthy over the duration of a 5 year deal, not Hunter. If that extra year keeps Rowand from signing, I'll be a bit upset.
  17. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) Are we really a better team with Cabrera rather than Garland? I think the downgrade from Garland to Floyd is a bigger issue than the downgrade from Cabrera to Uribe personally. We've seen 5th SP problems over the past 10 years. Get ready to experience those again. Uribe had negative value last year offensively; the team is much, much better with Cabrera at SS than Uribe.
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) lol, I had no idea what I was thinking... I meant the Astros... just forget that whole post. lol
  19. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) Plus defense, ok. 2 good years...ok. But, still, not for more than $10 mil/year. Rowand was one of the most valuable players in the NL last year, probably in the top 10. He's worth well more than $10 million and will likely end up getting around $13-15 mill a year; so long as you understand what you are getting, that should be a pretty fair contract.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Go for it. I saved this thread before i even posted. Thought it was hilarious. Macdougal? His first ''full'' season in the league he had a 4.08 era with 27 saves and blew 8 of them. He walked 32 out of 64 innings pitched and gave up 64 hits... all of which contributed to him being an all-star i am sure. In 2005 he slightly improved but nothing worth noting. He has always been the type of pitcher that you don't know what you are gonna get... each and every single outing. Has the ability to be lights out for a short time span... but overall he has always been too erratic. He has a whip of nearly 1.5 for his career... nearly walking one per every two innings... more hits than innings pitched... but ya he was superb before he got here. What pressure did he have in 2007? What is your excuse for him pitching as well as he did ''in'' pressure in 2006 while the sox were fighting for a playoff spot? Oops. Masset... sisco? They are not even worth discussing because i don't even know what you were trying getat by mentioning them. Alright, that's about enough out of you...with your, your logical thinking and sound reasoning. That's heresy around here.
