  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 12:21 AM) Kason Gabbard, Guadin, Runnynose Herhandez, Bernaro, and a few others say that this happens a bit when we face a bad righty with a > 7 ERA. I think the problem is that we dont respect these pitchers and figure that we can go yard on them at any point. Then get ourselves out. Let's be entirely fair to Kason, he shut us down with his left hand.
  2. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Not if some guy traveling at the speed of light keeps running them over. winnar
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Which online site? The two I know initially off the top of my head that still allow it are Ultimate Bet and Bodog.
  4. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) You're absolutely right. He's a former 1st round pick who is cheap and under Sox control for years. It may be that he'll never hit, but sticking him in AAA should at least allow him to recoup some trade value. There's no cost to sticking him in AAA and seeing what happens. Ozzie loses his waterboy...that may be cost enough.
  5. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) Massive overreactions last night. Now, that was a horrible game to say the least, but what do you expect? It was a game thread; what do you expect?
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) All of them, obviously. no, MLB is an entity, and they are not members of any organization at all. That's what the rule suggests. You are flat out misinterpreting their words. Besides that, the Cy Young, MVP, and World Series awards merely signify that they've won; they are not gifts, but rather rewards. It's not a gift if MLB has to give it to them by rule.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) So, that Jake Peavy guy is pretty good, huh? not as good as ARod, but my fantasy team is thanking the hell out of him
  8. Eric Young would vote for Ian Kinsler for AL Player of the Month. I find that funny for some reason
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:24 PM) Floyd's just watching the Sox, and has determined that having a bad first inning is key to be an integral part of the Sox staff. lol
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:23 PM) Aardsma's married to one mannish woman. with a killer body
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) The MLB should get in trouble for handing out the World Series trophy, the Cy Young, and the MVP if Torii gets suspended for sending champagne. Kalapse you can not be serious, stop messing around. What specific MLB club is MLB connected with? Look at the specific rule itself Again I ask, what MLB club is MLB connected with?
  12. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) How do you know he never has taken performance enhancing drugs? If I was a gambling man, I'd say that about over half the players in the league have taken or currently take some type of performnce enhancing drugs. and how do you know he is? That's the easiest argument in the world to make. There's no evidence at all throughout the duration of his career that he's taken any kind of performance enhancing drugs at all.
  13. but what would Reds fans do without Farney?
  14. I saw Robin Ventura last night. And then I just randomly beat the s*** out of him.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:33 AM) Just watching Anderson play CF last night made me wish Erstad was out there. Why Won't Erstad put up a .700 OPS? When he has healthy full seasons has always posted that or came very very close to doing so. Anderson has never done that. really? realllllllllllllllllly? He hasn't had a .700 OPS after 1 season? realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly?
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:25 AM) I didn't realize how badly most of our AAA team was hitting. Yuck. just taking after the major league team, that's all
  17. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) Im aware of this but Ill cross my fingers, I hear the Bills are looking at a DB. Not with Perry Thomas's zone coverage, a CB will be taken in the 2nd or 3rd if they can help it. If AD doesn't fall to Buffalo, they'll go with Patrick Willis. If neither fall, I imagine they'll take best available which probably be Revis.
  18. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:15 AM) not at all. I think he wil do it. I'm rooting for him. Hopefully he opts out of his contract. That would be awesome if he shuts out those whining Yankee fans after they booed him non stop the last few years. It's alright New York, you have Jeter. his comment today just secured the thought in my mind that he will undoubtedly opt out after this season. I'm sure he does want to resign with the Yankees, because they'll be able to throw the most money, but he'll test the waters and see what he can get.
  19. QUOTE(Dan @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) Yeah that threads ghey we dont talk about it here. how about $20? That'll buy us a case of beer
  20. Would it be completely assinine to say I think he's going to break Bonds' record?
  21. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:38 AM) As far as I'm concerned it's about repeating last year's success offensively and people b****ed about all the HRs last year too. I could care less if they hit 300 homers this year or 100, so long as they score runs. My problem with the home run philosophy was that they were being impatient at the plate and thus not putting themselves in position to score runs at all. Recently it's been better, so I have no right to complain.
  22. I haven't complained about any of this last 3 games. It doesn't change his .222 average on the season thus far, and I'm still not happy with that. If he can be adequate in CF - .270/.330/.400 - I'll be happy enough, just so long as he doesn't get enough PA's to be brought back at $6 million next year, which would be a ridiculous price to pay for a mediocre CFer at his best.
  23. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) My post count is taking forever... get drunk and post more, that's how Jimbo does it
  24. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:03 PM) The Marlins also wanted him to be the starter in CF. You have seen who the Marlins options for CF have been, right? Alex Sanchez, Eric Reed, and Alejandro De Aza. Now that De Aza's on the DL, Cody Ross and Alfredo Amezaga are playing CF for them. Every one of those mentioned is a worse option than both Erstad and Anderson.
