  1. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Agreed, though we are in the huge minority. I honestly hope Konerko gets all the money he can (and years) before he retires. And if thats with someone else, no-one should hold it against him. Konerko is going to get 3 years, and I sincerely hope it's NOT the Sox that give it to him, despite him being a great player for us. We will be moaning about that contract in 2012 and 2013.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) How many of those points are skewed by your only seeing the situation when it goes wrong? The resurgence of Jon Garland was attributed to Ozzie keeping him in longer in outings giving him confidence. I would like to know how many times he has made the correct decision with pitchers vs the incorrect decision. Perception in this case is skewed by a negative outcome and the emotions attached to it. Ozzie has consistently made poor decisions with our pitching staff, even in 2005 he did, but things worked out that year all the way around. How about leaving in Scott Linebrink at Wrigley Field after giving up a 3 run homer to Derrick Lee to make it a 5-4 ballgame? And the next guy hits it out to tie the game off him??? THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY A NO BRAINER TO PULL LINEY there. And he didn't. He made the same mistake this year a million times, I am sure you don't want to go through each instance, but he's flat out an awful decision maker and it's sickening to see him get out managed consistently and watch us get our brains beat in by the Twins year in year out.
  3. I recall when we signed Guillen, sometime in 2004, I told a friend from out of town that we had hired a star- mostly because he commanded respect, was likeable and wasn't a p**sy like Manuel was. The next year we won the World Series and I really believed it to be true....however, I don't feel that way anymore. Ozzie's consistent: * Leaving the starting pitcher in 2 outs too long * Sacrifice bunting in a HR ballpark * Overplaying of matchups in late innings (you have to go lefty on lefty right?!?!?!) * Horrible lineups way too often * Insistent love of horrible players like Mark Kotsay, Andy Gonzalez, et al * Seemingly never making the right decision with Pitchers, at ANY time I'm also interested in what the board hates about Ozzie in terms of management/tactical decisions?!??!!?
  4. I am open to having a new GM in place and I am torn about Ozzie. One thing I wish is if we had Ozzie running the club but someone else making the decisions on when to pull pitchers, what lineups to put out there, and what players he'd have on his roster :-) Is it just BS that the players enjoy playing for him? I like the fact that he seems as if he's the boss (and not a pu*sy like Jerry Manuel) and players say they like him but his decision making sucks....
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) I know there was probably 95% (if not more) of the people on this board who would NO WAY in hell trade Beckham. "He's the face of the franchise for the next 10 years, #3 hitter, etc..." What is your thought now? To me...if the right player is involved and it takes Beckham to get him I really don't think I have a problem with it. Again..."the right player...whoever that may be". I know he's been hurt lately and all...but I'm just not sure he's really going to be all that much better. Obviously he has to be better than this season...but I think the question now might be popping into people's minds a little more. Are people still in the "no way in hell" camp... I would think we'd be selling low right now. After his rookie campaign it was a different story....anyways, his numbers this year are disappointing but given the fact we'd be selling low I don't see him getting dealt nor would I deal him personally because I am still hopeful he's going to turn into the player we all want him to be at 2B for the next 10 yrs...
  6. Is our honeymoon period over with Jackson now? Seems that way the last two starts
  7. We have the next inning to tie the game otherwise its over with Soria in the 9th
  8. The last 4 games this offense is right up there with the worst in the league
  9. I wish Paciorek would quit kissing the Tigers ass- it's annoying
  10. With the offense packing it in, this lead is pretty much insurmountable, and almost a guarantee this season is over unless we can sweep the Twins at home...
  11. Morel appears to have a face only a mother can love, and his game looks horrible with the small sample size
  12. This offense has been horrid the last 3 games, they look completely uninterested, looking to just pack it in. Why not just crown the Twins AL Central champs again, unbelievable....
  13. f*** YOU WHITE SOX!!!! Well if we are able to get our heads out of our ass and win tomorrow, we will go 8-2 on this road trip, which I think ALL of us would have taken going into it....
  14. Would it be an exaggeration to say this is the worst performance of the year? This is pathetic, the unwillingness of the team to go to right field on that batting practice slider
  15. How about a 9th inning completely different than the last 17 they played??? One time???
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) nada Lifeless performance, horrible swings at that garbage slider, and really poor inning from Danks after the error, he lost it after that for an inning and it cost us. Once again shows us we don't have the mental capacity of a winner
  17. And why don't our righties just stand on top of the plate and make this clown pitch inside???? We're just pulling off everything, this is a complete joke, WTF
  18. What a bulls*** lifeless performance by this ballclub who is supposedly fighting for a playoff spot- what a joke, really
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) Ramirez is playing, he's just hitting 5th instead of 3rd, where he's getting about as much protection from Mark Teahen as the A-Team gives to...forget it. Basically zero. Gotcha thanks. Just got home and the first pitch I saw was Teahen striking out and then the next inning he costs us 4 runs, what a joke, he better NOT see 3rd base again the rest of the f***ing year
  20. Why is Manny not playing today? Sore hand after being hit yesterday????
  21. Jones can careless about getting hits. All he cares about is being able to pull the ball to left field, I don't know why these guys don't just come out and tell the f***ing truth
