Just see no realistic way Hahn and Boyer can sell fans on competing when they are going into a series of payroll cutbacks while simultaneously adding post-peak veterans who are completely unexciting, like Pollock Benintendi and Clevinger. At least the Guardians have almost all young players except for Josh Bell... much more fun to watch, like the Reds.

Teams aren't willing to pay for potential anymore with limited control. That said, he AND Cease consistently struggle to get to the 6the in the majority of their starts.

Perez might get through 8 innings at this rate. Actually has been pretty terrible on the road too. At home...2022 form.

86 pitches for Kopech, 40 for Perez. Almost to the point of cheering for the Twins and Guardians, because you just know whatever Hahn does at the deadline will absolutely be the worst possible decision.

Not sure Kopech makes it to the 4th...Taveras notorious fastball hitter. And Kopech has already given up 15 stolen bases this year... sigh. Clevinger also has 15. Tied for second in majors. Injured Thor with LAD the worst.

Robert couldn't believe that one went out. Right down the middle...slider at 84.

If he was a dominant run prevention defender at that position, like an Austin Hedges or Martin Maldonado...sure.

Julio Rodriguez?

You can't have your catcher below .150 unless he's Pudge Rodriguez or Johnny Bench.

Even then, he was way too non chalant... drifting back on the ball instead of hustling back to the fence. $75 million was supposed to guarantee those plays got made vs. Jimenez flubbing them or getting hurt.

Now all those added pitches are going to lead to an extra inning for the bullpen. No way they get another lucky break like last night.

Bench him.

Not to mention they're even more wary of giving pitchers with previous TJS histories extensions...

Nobody would ever have predicted the DBacks and Giants both being right there in the thick of it. The only reliable factor out West is the Rockies being abysmal...yet Denver fans continuing to support that tram year in and year out with strong attendance numbers.
