  1. Going to put a bit more pressure on Dayton Moore and KC...probably not Rick Hahn.
  2. Luis Gonzalez can really play some defense. No idea why he didn't get more run when that's the biggest weakness of Sox outfielders...Engel has been just above average but not great.
  3. Look how many at bats he actually had in Jpn. Only around 100. Fastball Velocity and use of slower breaking pitches so different. Remember Takatsu’s frisbee?
  4. The question is whether Burger’s defense would ever allow him to even sniff a 3 fWAR, let alone an overall 4.5 like Moncada last year. His OPS at Charlotte this year is only .771, when we should expect 900ish roughly.
  5. Very high, top ten first rounder…8th overall.
  6. Oops. Last year and this year we had Tim Beckham 1-1 at Charlotte. Cornelius Randolph/Phillies another.
  7. Anderson, Burger, Crochet, Vaughn Giolito, Pollock, Lance Lynn (39th pick), Kopech But none before Chris Sale’s draft year still playing. 2014-16, 2018…nothing to show for those four years, and the 2017 pick was Burger
  8. Guess this might come into play with Gregorious. KW/TLR/Hahn just love their NL vets.
  9. Can’t afford 4-3 this week with the much more challenging upcoming schedule. With Guardians and Twins both ahead in the standings, odds are one of those two will have more fortuitous matchups on a daily basis.
  10. Wil Myers sounds perfect for next year. Extremely Diminished power from RH side. Piss Poor defense. Terrible in CF. Was a big name a decade or so ago. Will point to decent numbers in 2019 and 2021. Not THAT old by Sox standards.
  11. And I can hardly believe KW agrees with the Menechino loyalty program, either. Exact opposite of how the best Sox teams in last 25 years or so were constructed.
  12. And you expect the White Sox to take on how much additional salary when they will already be maxxed out signing Abreu? Where are you going to cut to fit that money in? Hendriks and/or Graveman? Who else?
  13. The Padres have a bonus pool of $10,088,900, 11th-highest in the Majors. That should help as they try to lure Lesko away from Vanderbilt University and Snelling away from LSU. Though the Saturday night lights of Death Valley are not in play for Snelling, he has longstanding ties to Tigers baseball coach Jay Johnson, who got to know Snelling and his family while serving as the University of Nevada baseball coach from 2014-15. Dylan Lesko, 18, signed for $3.9 million, was among the top Draft prospects this year before dropping because he underwent Tommy John surgery in April. With the best changeup in the Draft class, per MLB Pipeline, and a fastball that already touches 97 mph, he has a strong foundation for development after his rehab. Snelling, 18, signed for $3 million, was a Division I prospect as a football linebacker and he pondered playing both sports in college before committing to LSU as a baseball player only. He, too, boasts a 97 mph fastball and he has plenty of room to grow after concentrating on baseball development full time. Adam Mazur, 21, signed for $1.25 million, is a late bloomer. He didn’t pitch at all until his junior year at Woodbury High School in Minnesota. He started his college career at South Dakota State University, which didn’t have a pitching coach on staff for part of his time there. With a five-pitch mix, Mazur blossomed in the Cape Cod League over the summer of 2021, before he transferred to Iowa and became the Big Ten pitcher of the year in ’22. https://www.mlb.com/news/robby-snelling-adam-mazur-round-out-padres-picks-on-day-1-of-2022-mlb-draft

  15. Well, Drury has lost two homers over the fence and another controversial replay reversal in less than a week…called out at home in what became a 1-0 loss the night before that must have required 12-15 different angles. And Josh Hader blew a 4-1 lead and could easily have replicated his six run/three homer disaster against that same Giants team a month ago in SF. Next twenty games after today @ Washington, @Miami, Washington, CLE (2), KC, at SF

  17. Yeah. Sosa deserves an extended look. Just dont think they have the guts to bench Leury Harrison Moncada but who knows...
  18. The problem is do you really pull Giolito or Lynn for him? VV Foster Ruiz Banks/Sousa could all go. But they must want him to start in regular rotation and maybe returns to give Kopech another breather.
  19. Bautista is awesome. Another comeback for Balt against Jays. Only two GB. Nice for that city to have pennant race beisbol. Scary matchup for Sox in upcoming days.
  20. Guess McGuire jokes about sprained body parts are out since he's no longer on the team...
  21. Might need to adjust Sosa war. Almost had three hits including the homer.
  22. Tatis JR. 2/2 with a double and triple for San Antonio...first hit in any game in 10 1/2 months.
