  1. Alcides Escobar 4/9 with a 1.000 ops for the Nationals. Crazy season. Everyone gets a shot.
  2. Maybe, a healthy Hamilton/Buxton/Robert/Engel get to it. Maybe.
  3. They could put Story at second, but that won’t happen, either.
  4. We can’t count on the Indians going 1-9 every ten games…they better have Jimenez and Robert back for that really tough stretch in August. Right now, the Tigers are playing like the best team in the division. Hinch turned out to be a good choice for another rebuilding team with a boatload of young talent.
  5. Why would you trade Madrigal at a big discount?
  6. White Sox +17 Indians +6 (34-28) Sunday, June 13 High point for CLE, 40-30/41-31 (2 games back) Indians have how lost 7 in a row and 9 of their last 10. White Sox went 6-7 after being 18 games over .500, but have now lost three in a row again. Tonight=White Sox +14, Indians +2. Essentially, we have gained 1/2 game in the standings despite a 6-10 mark during that time. Both Sox and Indians swept by the Astros in four game sets.
  7. Stoney hoping for the rainout and the 7 inning DH.
  8. Rays just bailed out the White Sox. Nice home rally by them against Clase. Arozarena and Franco with big hits.
  9. Managed to put four on the board and it still feels like a disappointment. Well, it’s all up to the bullpens now.
  10. Yeah, Abreu has been the worst Sox hitter recently.
  11. Better get to that Indians’ pen before the 8th and 9th.
  12. It’s all up to Jimenez, Robert, and whatever checkbook Hahn is allowed to use. Pitching was due to come back to reality at some point…but normally another aspect of the team would bounce back. Feels more like 2006 second half approaching, or 2008 without Quentin…except there are no teams of the quality of Minnesota and Detroit those years.
  13. Stearns >>> Rays front office Wander Franco hasn’t been doing much…and Franmil’s back jacking homers. Not often TB blows 4-0 and 5-1 leads behind Rich Hill.
  14. Watch out, Ron is going to report you to mods.
  15. Glasnow would have been the choice before injury…so Grandal can blame Manfred.
  16. LHP or batters against RHP? Let’s hope the last four games of Vaughn continues a trend in this regard…
  17. Or they’re showcasing Burger and Sheets for potential trade partners…
  18. “In addition to staying within the Tatis family, the White Sox also inked 22-year-old Cuban shortstop Yolbert Sanchez, a former teammate of Luis Robert's on the Cuban national team; 16-year-old Dominican third baseman Wilfred Veras, who according to Sanchez has been compared to Edwin Encarnacion; and two 16-year-old Dominican pitchers, Cristian Mena and Erick Bello.” https://www.milb.com/player/elijah-tatis-691528 0/8 so far “Among them is another Dominican third base prospect, who just so happens to be the son of a former major leaguer: Wilfred Veras, son of former Boston Red Sox third baseman Wilton Veras. Veras signed for $200,000, and not only is Veras the son of a major leaguer, he also happens to be a nephew of Fernando Tatis himself. Gotta love those family connections! Francys Romero of MLB believes Veras has 55-grade power, which is quite impressive for someone who’s yet to turn 17.” https://www.southsidesox.com/2019/7/3/18716439/white-sox-yolbert-sanchez-elijah-tatis-international-class-of-2019-wilfred-veras-cristian-mena-bello
  19. Not for a slump lasting in the months and not weeks…if he gets really serious about getting back up, working on his catching and physical conditioning, he’ll be back in the majors, somewhere.
  20. https://whitesoxdaily.com/2020/11/20/white-sox-conversation-with-prospect-jake-burger/
  21. I see where you also worked pest into this…the midseason quote that is only rivaled by TLR’s drunken HoFer, bro recording.
  22. Herschel Walker was the name coming to mind…obviously no football competition, though. But an amazing athlete.
  23. Do we have SoxTalk awards for best idle speculation? Without any inside information, all one can do is guess. In the end, it was just the White Sox being careful or conservative with a valued outfield throwing arm if he has even 75% of the same tools as his cousin.
