  1. manor, lol? He’ll be heading to the Shady Hills Retirement Manor if Kopech decides to go head hunting. Don’t think he will do much more than throw behind him and get warned or thrown out. But at least we have so many off days to rest the pen if Kopech does get tossed.
  2. No. They are unlikely to cause an open rift in the clubhouse when they are running away with the division.
  3. If they joked about it, why the dramatic "overreaction" then to a misunderstanding between good friends?
  4. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-yankees-benches-clear-in-bronx MLB not mentioning specific allegations in their game story.
  5. Especially since the last game/s between them in the regular season. But then some will read that action as a tacit admission of guilt on the part of the Yankees. They might double down in defending him. It's going to be interesting to see how they try to wiggle out of it.
  6. If they play him in the DH it's practically inviting a retaliation from the Sox/LaRussa and a bench clearing brawl. The game would also start with both starting pitchers warned in all likelihood.
  7. Buxton is definitely going to be one of the first players they ask to comment since they were teammates...if he wants to weigh in to defuse or further fan the flames.
  8. LaRussa calling Donaldson a racist means this is the MLB headline for a week. The trick is how the Yankees attempt to defuse it. Remember the accusations against Schildt in the Cards' clubhouse and then with one of the Giants' coaching staff, 1st base coach I think?
  9. John Rocker parallel comes to mind, but Donaldson plays for the hallowed Yankees and not a "southern" team so expect this one to be brushed away as quietly as possible. I looked up his university. Auburn. Let's go to Frank Thomas or Bo Jackson to see if they defend Donaldson lol. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10036510-tony-la-russa-says-yankees-josh-donaldson-made-racist-comment-to-tim-anderson
  10. Thread title hould be changed to just "Jackie" to be more accurate...REFERRING to Jackie Robinson and Tim's inheriting that legacy in the modern game as one of the shrinking number of African Americans in the majors.
  11. Anderson isn't going to be quiet on this one for long on social media. At all. Crazy week. As if Saban/Fisher wasn't enough of a soap opera, we get another one.
  12. The strange thing is that other than Freddy Garcia, we didn't capitalize in any way in terms of creating a Venezuelan connection on the Sox...while Ozzie was manager. That might have changed had we brought over Miguel Cabrera. Will never know.
  13. Balta is not going to accept that rationalization, like, at all...
  14. "Both sides." What does Timmy call him back then, Ty Cobb? One of the racist members of the '47 Dodgers who got put in their place by Pee Wee Reese?
  15. https://theathletic.com/3323043/2022/05/20/are-the-white-sox-in-trouble-who-should-get-the-cubs-next-statue-chicago-baseball-authority/?source=spotrac&pc=spotrac40off2 Really interesting article by Jon Greenberg. Called LaRussa a lake duck manager, among other things...eventually questioned the quality of the entertainment value of the current product on the field.
  16. And then a club option year for $25 million.
  17. This guy throws about the same velocity as Danks or Parque (before injury) but man is there a lot of variety and movement....and the cutter is such a Yankee tradition.
  18. Cutter is killing the Sox. Basically can't hit anything under 90 mph.
  19. He had that opportunity last year and fizzled. And even if he's healthy for the rest of this season...not sure by definition that's extended or not.
  20. Cortes leading baseball in ERA. Anderson over 350 now. Cueto/Taillon then Kopech/Severino on Sunday night. Presumably Cease on Tuesday at home against Boston.
  21. Out for the season with TJ. Severino and Taillon tmrw.
  22. We will see...if the division lead gets in the 6-7 range they might have no choice. Even then I believe LaRussa's preference is going to be a major leaguer via trade, someone of course from the NL like Brandon Drury on the Reds.
  23. There are $5.5 million reasons plus the small buyout. This is just not the type of move the Sox typically make unless it's for a legit top prospect.
  24. Shockingly the Twins have already scored three in the first and and still hitting against Lynch.
  25. Sirotka lol?
