Astros have seven that are still alive...?
-
Bringing back memories of Joe Crede. Have had them once or twice a year (severe spasms, pain shooting down legs, problems standing up straight after sitting for prolonged periods of time) from age 32-51. Started off with sports with lots of torque like racquetball and badminton, now it could be triggered just by leaning over the wrong way to pick up something or put on/tie shoes. Have heard things like not enough pre stretching or “not enough water in discs” from Chinese doctors, but it has never quite gotten severe enough to consider surgery, although had six weeks this past spring where it took almost six weeks to feel 100% (was always 3-7 days previously.) i just attribute it to a lifetime of racquet/bat and trunk swinging sports catching up to me, or bad genetics.

If we're that desperate to save on salary when we're basically running out a 2011-12 payroll we are going to lose out, because that's more than a fair contract. It's going to require at least a couple of middling prospects to comsumate a deal. With Naylor out, the Indians are going to be looking at the same players and they have a much better system now, though perhaps not the willingness to trade if Bieber is going to be out long term.

We need the Old Comiskey. With our current outfield defense, though, we would be even more exposed... just defense in general would be challenging in a much bigger park. -

Thought Long was going to walk for sure. If this was a showcase for Lambert, he now pretty much has negative value. Next prospect up? Stiever? Certainly isn't Burdi, although he might me the third piece. At least Gonzalez has contributed something. -
Kasper called that ball as put off the bat. Trammell star of the game. But Rabbit said he sucks. Obviously has all the physical tools, just a question whether he can hit .200.

Well, this technically wasn’t a blown lead, just a blown tie game. Vaughn really needs to play everyday in Charlotte and build up his confidence against RHP/sliders. Collins in because he’s slightly faster than the snail-like Grandal...who’s finally close to .180. Mariners outhomering the White Sox by 21 right now.

Comical the Indians could be down just 1 1/2 going into the Sox game against Maeda tomorrow...
-
Perfect. 14/24 hits for extra bases for a 160ish hitter. Goodwin had no business running into Lamb there. Bullpen lets the Sox down yet again.
-
Apparently the Indians have lost Naylor for what looks like all or most of the season...

It’s that kind of season all around...most teams have lost 2-3 pitchers and 2-4 members of their starting lineups at different points. This guy has been their breakout performer this year, really good numbers.

Engel/Hamilton/Cordero

Burger for LF, Vaughn to 1B. Putting absolutely no weight on it going off the field.

Just put him on the IL for ten days. 97. Play Vaughn or Grandal at first.

Will We Ever See the Full Impact of Jimenez and Robert ?

Then how do you explain old school Herm Schneider having the healthiest team in the majors for 15 years? Also, it’s not like A.Thomas is from the dark ages, he raised his son to be a modern Top 100 prospect in all of baseball. That doesn’t happen purely by accident. Are the Indians firing their training staff because Plesac, Bieber and Civale all got hurt? Then who gets credit for their keeping Clase on the mound after he missed all of 2020 or Karinchak from going down when he gets used so frequently? -
You’re overthinking this...sure, and the White Sox can just as easily be working on a simultaneous deal for Ryan McMahon. Who blinks first? Pretty clear the DBacks are in for a long rebuild and need to save all the money they can. No point in paying guys like Peralta, Calhoun, A.Cabrera or Reddick for a team already buried and looking to be without Ketel Marte again for quite some time. After Marte, Zac Gallen might be their second most valuable player. They need both to load up on prospects and salary relief simultaneously. But the Pirates see the same opportunity to sell high on Frazier, just like the Rockies with McMahon.

Starting Game 2.

Keuchel is starting one of the games...that’s all we know so far. Looks like for the second game starter.

He looks like a CFer in the same way Avi Garcia does... time will tell, but hard pressed to believe he's not a corner guy at the major league level. They can play him there, and it would do nothing but benefit his trade value in the long run. Realistically, him playing in Chicago in 2021 always required every thing going wrong (that part happened), but missing so much in terms of playing under real game conditions means we should be content if he can somehow make it to Birmingham, where big offensive numbers go to die.
