  1. Detroit pen out to undo Pineda's start... Once again, the Indians scrap and get guys like Stephan in Rule 5. We have to overspend for Graveman and the oft injured Kelly.
  2. Lift and pull. See 2000-2008 Sox baseball. It worked one magical year when we had the pitching. On a personal level, that's why the Royals were so fun to watch those two years...the complete opposite of Sox modus operandi in terms of fundamentals and execution, defense, speed, making contact, keeping the line moving with singles and doubles, shutdown pen.
  3. Man, all of our core hitters are just not clicking right now. Hopefully getting swept will wake this team and manager up. But probably not. Cleveland has had their foot on the Sox throats from Game 1 second inning.
  4. Well, we will be playing this name that veteran starter game at least until Lynn comes back and/or Rodon gets hurt (not necessarily predicting that one.) Wacha also comes to mind, Heaney although pretty sure he's out now.
  5. Just walk Ramirez. Screw it.
  6. Well, Yermin's first month was fun, Billy Hamilton's energy and excitement playing the game especially stands out, Robert's second half...even Goodwin a couple times. Sheets as well. Kimbrel's flop really killed a lot of excitement IMO.
  7. He certainly makes it less likeable. I remember Maddon jerseys outselling even Abreu (only Sox jersey available) in 2015-2017 back home in the Quad Cities. How many are buying TLR jerseys and proudly wearing them, other than members of the Reinsdorf family?
  8. They better score against Sandin or Shaw because Stephan and Clase are TOUGH.
  9. The AL West is certainly more exciting...it's arguable. And the White Sox are just a pretender until they win a postseason series. Plus the Astros have Verlander back. Thor looks good, too. The difference might be what the Twins get out of Buxton and Correa.
  10. The problem is McEwing also is being forced to be aggressive due to the tepid offense. Hedges can't hit, but he can certainly catch and throw. Sigh. Promising inning wiped out again.
  11. Not in this division. In the East or West in both leagues, sure.
  12. Have to agree to disagree on this one. Leury has to be aware of his teammates ahead of him...something we learn in Little League is not to run right up the back of the guy in front of us. If he's the only base runner then you can praise him for his amazing read...if he gets doubled off first, what a terrible base running play!
  13. Here we go...this feels like a dangerous situation anticipating a very inexperienced pen member likely next in. Hopefully he can pitch out of this.
  14. Harrison qualified for the AL Triple Jump lead yesterday so there's that...and Vaughn figured out one creative way to get him out the lineup. Unfortunately, that inevitably means more Leury instead.
  15. What Leury did was the equivalent of a point guard dribbling all the way down court without looking up and running into a charge in the lane.
  16. A least we're winning the Exit Velocity title?
  17. Arguably even two runs...the way it played out.
  18. If you go halfway there's almost no way to then tag up and get to third if it's caught. You can blame Robert for underestimating how bad Reyes is in RF, I guess?
  19. Not when you have Leury on your team. Against a slightly faster RFer...almost anyone, basically...he's dead to rights and doubled off first quite easily. Imagine that turning into a runner on third and two outs.
  20. Because he started from a dead stop and wasn't expecting to be sent...he wasn't going full speed, sure.
  21. But would have been caught by 75-80% of RFers. Leury would gave easily been doubled up there had it been caught. Great, only two more years of Leury to go, at least until his next ill-advised extension.
  22. Reyes is a pretty terrible OFer...usually gives up almost as much as he scores with the bat.
  23. Two consecutive games. And that send was twice as bad as the terrible one yesterday. And Leury is the one who forced it by being too aggressive...
  24. Never mind. Cloudy….15-20% chance of rain. Upper 50’s.
  25. Supposed to get all the way into the mid to high 70’s by around 3 p.m.
