Not playing Robert tonight is one of the myriad reasons baseball is struggling to fend off the NBA for second place in the world of professional sports. Giannis vs. Doncic is celebrated around the world as a match-up that defines the future of basketball, whereas Luis Robert has yet to make a name for himself outside of the Chicagoland area because he plays for a "second tier" franchise. In the NBA, if you're a future star, say, like Ja Morant or Tray Young, no matter what team you play for...you'll be discovered, embraced, celebrated. Whereas MLB increasingly becomes a regionalized sport. That said, watching baseball games in the Covid-19 format isn't as bad as other sports like football and basketball that are even more fan-participation centered.
