Rick Hahn
What incident in spring training? One thing is for sure, a lot is riding on the Q trade and Kopech bailing Hahn out of trouble. Just imagine where they would be without those three players in terms of the general fanbase attitude. In the end, I guess we’ll eventually find out how valuable how valuable he is on the open market...an assistant GM job on the financial/contracts side, but not in player evaluation. That’s probably the main reason KW has been kept on the payroll.

Financial News
Like the rich and corporations said they sure would love SOME huge tax cuts, and then pretend they’re going to pay for themselves even though supply side economics has been debunked over and over again since the Reagan/David Stockman years.

Hmmm... This sounds like a familiar discussion. Generally, NOT the greatest sign when most random message board posters have more high school or university experience in the sport you are GM in, with Theo Epstein (soccer instead) being a notable exception in baseball.

Midterms 2018
My whole goal in life is to make you think I’m going “full Greg” and will vote for the write-in candidate or GOP. I’m not going to that extreme, yet. On the other hand, voting for a Charlie Baker or Will Hurd (TX) also makes sense...because they can work with Dems quite well, they pretty much have to. Hurd has an extreme amount of foreign policy knowledge due to his background. Any half black dude who can win over a majority Hispanic constituency in one of the largest districts in the country is definitely worth listening to if we ever are to get past all the racial animosities that have fomented.

Midterms 2018
Doug Jones was a complete anomaly, you could have run there as a Republican and won, probably. That leaves Lamb and the VA gubernatorial race...which wasn’t an upset by any means. If it was so cut and dried, Sanders wouldn’t have won all the primaries that he did in 2016. And they’re (Iowans) most certainly not voting for Medicaid, because they think that’s for the lazy and poor. They’re voting for Medicare... The Dems have lost almost all the other special elections, and Ossoff had huge money coming in, but he never defined himself well...he ran a centrist campaign and was smoked by Handel. The Dems learned you should stand for something at least, and not be a “wussy tabula rasa.” You can’t win just by merely being against Trump in most regions of the country

But Moncada should at least be able to pull the ball to the LH side of the diamond when he is hitting from the RH side and get 5-7 additional hits by accident. They both pull off the ball, and by virtue of doing that, some balls should be spinning off the top of the bat the other direction from time to time, pseudo bunts, essentially. Obviously, he pulls everything as a LHB into the shift, but he still should have more infield hits up the middle. Since you’re so wise, how many hitters in baseball today have fewer infield hits and the same degree of speed?

Midterms 2018
Hillary is from the northern suburbs of Chicago...why didn’t she understand the importance of the Heartland? Oh, it’s all her campaign staff starting with Mook, Abedin/Weiner, Donna Brazile, Comey and Lynch. Who won the Haley Stevens race, btw? Officially called? Obama was non-denominational Christian, but 25% of the people (let’s call it Trump’s true base) still thought he was Muslim...would he have had a chance if he was “trained in an Indonesian madrasa” as was alleged by the GOP? Honestly, I’m starting to think it’s better to let the GOP basically destroy the US so that some of the progressive ideas that weren’t radical even during FDR’s (and Henry Wallace’s time) would seem much less radical.....eventually, everyone will be forced to acknowledge that the status quo/rightward drift since the 1980s is leading the country into oblivion and irrelevance, and bankruptcy (well, technically a devalued currency and unwillingness by other countries to finance our debt which the GOP no longer acknowledges is a consequential issue at all.)

Earned income tax credit has been one solution to the 2-3 job/single mother problem...but the family/medical leave part still hasn’t been addressed. Unless you count Ivanka’s pr campaign to make herself look more reasonable when she runs for office. She can say, wink wink, Daddy will still be “advising” me to keep the Minion Trumpsters in line. Let’s instead follow Rubio’s idea of “borrowing” from your earned Social Security benefits, that will work well...right?

But that will destroy the economy and take profits out of the hands of shareholders...lowering executive suite bonuses. Capitalism now, capitalism forever!

In China, my wife has 2+ weeks of official holidays and at least two weeks of summer vacation time...so up to 3 weeks after a certain period of time working, I’m pretty sure 15 years...to earn an extra week.

Midterms 2018
“Republicans have won while clinging tighter and tighter to their base and convincing us to stray from ours. t’s time for us to remember that universal college education, trade school, a federal jobs guarantee, a universal basic income, were not all proposed in 2016. They were proposed in 1940, by the Democratic president of the United States," said Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. James Thompson won in Kansas, Welder in Kansas (not exactly a"liberal" state)...and three of the AOC Michigan candidates were Muslim, so it would have taken...well, basically a miracle, in this current age of hate and division, for them to win. Interestingly, the candidate who was in the lead 2-3 weeks ago in the gubernatorial race was Indian-Amererican, but he finished third, behind Sayed. Btw Reddy, when do you think it will be possible for candidates with names like Sayed, Saad and Tlaib to win in America? 2025? 2030? 2050? They only lost because of their progressive beliefs? Hmmm... And don't say Keith Ellison or Andre Carson, their names doesn't exactly sound Islamic. Finally, hope you’re paying attention to the union dues vote in MO, and the margins. Clinton and Obama have as much to do with their disintegration as almost anyone but Reagan. It’s also a large reason that quadrant of the Heartland...SE Minnesota, SW Wisconsin, NE Iowa and western Illinois turned to Trump. 40 years of unions losing their jobs and bargaining power vis a vis American MNC’s. And Missouri is more conservative than it is liberal...basically the whole state after StL, KC and Columbia.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/SO_season.shtml Now we’re going to have to relive the Adam Dunn years, haha. Luckily for Kenny Williams, Mark Reynolds has the modern-day MLB strikeout record, 223 to 222. Only five players over 2000 in history. Reynolds (3), Dunn, Chris Davis (2), C.Carter (2, former Sox farmhand), Aaron Judge and Drew Stubbs. Kris Bryant is 11th at 199 (2015). Tim Anderson had 162 last year, good for 154th All-Time. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/yoan-moncada-has-lot-strikeouts-and-white-sox-think-baseballs-umpires-might-be-partially Currently at 160 k’s in 105 games (tied for 171st)...or 1.53 per game, so he’s as of today on pace to break the record unless they sit him or place him at the bottom of the order. At any rate, that would put him on pace to break the record with 7-8 games left to spare (he’s also missed 9 games, I think one for discipline and the rest for DL stint, or his hamstring bothering him a bit when he returned, can’t remember.) Staying on exact course, he will compile 235. I don’t think Hahn’s going to allow that to happen...or can afford to, really. Adam Dunn was limited to 177 in that mythic 2011 debut campaign with the Sox, btw. His worst year was actually the team’s best in recent years, 2012.

Of course, their defense and pitch selection are going to be slightly different had Anderson successfully bunted there, too...no way of knowing what theoretically would have happened. The only thing that's certain is Anderson sucks at bunting.

Fun to at least have a competitive game...White Sox just haven't been able to manufacture any runs tonight....clutch hitting for both teams, lacking.
