  1. Omar Minaya warming. Sox want to deal Holland and Shields first, obviously. Walk to Schoop was ludicrous. Tentativeness...just like Quintana, nibbling and getting away from what worked. Had him 0-2, then it was quickly 4-2. He tells you what he's thinking by how he pitches. Too careful with Schoop.
  2. You could make the exact same arguments (2001) that George W. Bush was just great until 9/11 hit and put our country into the wrong war...then Katrina finished off his credibility. Was Bush responsible for the economic policies that Clinton put into place? Of course, he died with housing market...which has been blamed on Clinton, Rubin and Greenspan. At any rate, Yellen keeps raising rates and it will start to tamp down the economy, no matter what Trump does.
  3. Overrated, lol. Back to thread point, the serious one, before we end up like Travis Kalanick.
  4. Soft liner to CF caught with bases loaded, two outs, bottom of 12th and game on the line. Top of 13th now. Game over on wild pitch, May scores, 4-3 Knights.
  5. Hayes, May and Delmonico cooling now...
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 08:01 PM) Thank you for posting this. Except for the point that I was right in my speculation...better record than Trump, at least.
  7. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) The 80s/Early 90s was the least safe modern time. Crime was WAY higher. Not if you grew up in Iowa. More gangs and drugs now. Maybe East St. Louis, Detroit and Cleveland were more troubled back then...Newark, etc.
  8. Andrew Miller actually gave up lead against LAD. .500 if they lose tonight. Gave up four runs, whoa. Gary SANCHEZ homer #11. Judge at .344. Aiyo! Martes with very strong start against Rangers.
  9. Fun team to watch right now. Reminiscent of M's series. Great hustle by SANCHEZ.
  10. Opposite field...up and into the wind? Just hit it over the wind, lol.
  11. So much for Willy Garcia in CF...would rather see a Engel, but oh well. He's playing everyday in the minors. Need Leury back. Buxton looks like he's turning a corner (said that before). Twins looking close to formidable.
  12. Cheer for Cards or Brewers? Best unknown player in baseball today, Aaron Altherr of the Phillies. Haniger of the M's a close second. Ex Sox Jhan Martinez now pitching for Pirates, return for Ozzie Guillermo, haha.
  13. Big hit for Anderson's confidence there...scuffling recently. Garcia up to .336
  14. Let's say, for argument's sake...at least $10 million. Imagine you're 50-55 with kids already out of the house. Start a non-profit? What would your goal/mission/vision be? Teach/mentor? Start a charter school? Volunteer, but just part-time? Social venture philanthropy, for example...working as the corporate giving/volunteer coordinator position for a company like Starbucks (upper management) or Whole Foods? Environment/green tourism? Travel blogging? Venture capital investing in tech and green tech start ups? Microfinance to help provide lower no interest Loans to women/children in developing countries? Mentoring start ups, like Mark Cuban or Marcus Lemonis? Run for political office? Get a master's or PhD?
  15. Two critical still, Scalise and the lobbyist.. As for the earlier comment, have to believe that those born after, say, the early 1980's...might feel that way. Numb. Anesthetized. OKC/McVeigh, Columbine, Ruby Ridge, Waco...the school shooting tend really picked up in the mid to late 90's. My generation, the worst things that happened were the Challenger disaster and Reagan getting shot. But way too late for 1960's assassinations/riots/Vietnam protests. Maybe the "safest" modern time to grow up, the 1980's and early 90's. (Obviously still more dangerous than Leave It To Beaver 1950's).
  16. Basabe might be the bigger concern...and still think Moncada isn't quite 100% with that wrist. Those tend to linger. Fisher's doing fine. Delmonico. Call got hurt. Adolfo's made a lot of progress, and Trey/Hawkins/Barnum were already being written off, at least the latter two.
  17. Wow, that's going to be a late ender for Chicagoans..
  18. I guess I never even noticed, thought it was a misstype. Like if I write an e-mail and put NM in the body if there's no text, for no message. Most probably don't do that either, say it's a video file or Word attachment.
  19. This game was going to have 15,000ish attendance regardless. Better for overall win loss record to give Orioles time to regroup.
  20. The big question is whether J4L will go into hiding...maybe, unless Durant shocks the world and leaves Golden State, or Curry. Odds of either happening, not quite nil, but insignificant nonetheless.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 06:24 PM) /s would have been a good indicator Hmmm...guess I missed the memo on that one. Millennial thing? I don't think I've ever seen anyone over 35 or so use that.
  22. Would be interesting to know if they would have taken Adell or Burger...or Hiura.
  23. Meanwhile, Moncada is one at-bat away from the .260's.
  24. The Warriors control the key parts for the next three years, essentially. Livingston, Iguodala and then Klay Thompson will probably be the first Core Four guy to go. But not anytime soon. https://sports.yahoo.com/potential-pitfall-...-140717749.html If Durant structures his contract in a certain way, they can keep Livingston and Iggy.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 05:34 PM) The Sox have two great exceptions to that rule in Quintana and Sale. No correlation with Danks I guess...
