  1. Will be embarassing to have an attendance of less than 20,000 for a Friday home game in May...yeah, yeah, it's the cold weather, that's it.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) No one cares about Oney Guillen. If they care about Oney Guillen...they should be DFA'd for being idiots. It's not ONEY. It's more representative of the lack of institutional control that Ozzie has over his family (to keep them from embarassing both him and the White Sox) and the fact that all his rants and threats are no longer considered meaningful by any of the players or beat writers that follow the team. No way he can bring this team back the dead.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) Agreed, if we have like one win on the next road trip, this season is OVA! Wait until people start criticizing Ozzie for his son bashing Thome. I'm sure that will go over well with Konerko and company. This is reminiscent of the "we don't need no f--king milk and cookies in the locker room" rant by Tony Muser against the born-again Christians like Sweeney and Randa in the Royals' clubhouse. Thome soft? Gimme an f'in break. He was soft on Blackburn's fastball in Game 163 into the shrubbery, that's for sure. He has put up the same exact numbers he puts up every year, 1000+ OPS, any surprise? I really think that his son's comments ripping Thome will have some blowback and a residual affect as the season continues to slide away.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) I'm actually getting optimistic that something will happen soon, either it be with him or Walker. Our record and attendance is severely disappointing to Reinsdorf. We're behind BALT and the RAYS, 21st. But STILL 3.7% up on our attendance at this same exact point last year. I wonder if they meant per game average or that the actual numbers who had attended a game was up at this same date (because of fewer games to this point in 2009), that could be a deliberately misleading stat to cover things up a bit.
  5. Putz at 94-96 but little movement and couldn't throw the split with runner on 3rd, so crippled pitcher. Santos and Thornton, you've been promoted to new roles. Jenks and Putz, you're going to have earn your way back into the circle of trust. 7 1/2 GB.
  6. Might be close to Thornton as the closer....a couple of more Jenks stumbles.
  7. If we go to the 12th, do you go to Santos or Putz? What are the odds that Thornton makes it through the entire season without being shut down or DL'ed?
  8. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Oh man Pierre, if you were looking for a way to drive off the last 3 or so people that supported you, well done. I thought you meant the last three fans in the RF bleachers at first...well, same diffference.
  9. 548 OPS hitters walked to face 570 OPS guys. Juan Pierre one for the FREAKIN' SEASON with RISP.
  10. Great job guys! Sigh. These are the games that really really piss you off when you spend 4 1/2 hours listening to a loss when Williams gives up a crooked number.
  11. PR Nix here...let's please not blow out CQ's hamstring and quad if there's a double here. Teahen, don't bunt into a DP, PLEASE!!!!
  12. Baseball is a crazy game. The two catchers in an offensive mano-a-mano duel.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) So it Ozzie's fault for going to his 7.5 million dollar closer against the #7, #8 and #9 hitters? GMAB. Salary isn't the issue at this point, wins are what matter the most. Thornton and Santos are both better options, and possible Putz...in that situation. How many tie games has Jenks UNTIED in his White Sox career....the list would go on for pages. You just avoid using your closer in that situation.
  14. Jenks will be booed off the mound for one of the few times in his Sox career if he gives up a walk here.
  15. The odds of Jenks getting through an inning in a situation like this were about 10%. No excuse for not going to Thornton, Putz or Santos. Jenks is no longer your best pitcher out of the pen....Thornton is, and CLEARLY.
  16. At least Lewis didn't end up with automatic steal of 2B off Jenks....small comfort there.
  17. Ramirez trying to cover 2B for no apparent reason....too funny.
  18. The Chicago White Sox, Finding New and Creative Ways to Lose With a $100 million dollar payroll
  19. Speaking of homers, Viciedo now has six on the season and he's crested at an .802 OPS.
  20. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) OK...hope I'm wrong. Surprising it wasn't a solo shot, with this season's early trends.
  21. So basically we won't trade any of our top six prospects, haha, LOGICALLY. Hudson, Flowers, Danks, Viciedo (KW's ego is on the line too much with that move), Mitchell and Trayce Thompson. So who's #7-10 that we would part with and would get us a Lance Berkman? HMMMMM...
  22. Pierre has to improve on his 1/38 with RISP so far, doesn't he? GEEZ...that wasn't predictable Juan. I really am starting to hate you with so many chances to get RBI's...as much as I didn't like Pods, he was money in those situations last year.
  23. Paul Konerko=Wally Pipp Let's please please please not get picked off base needlessly Alexei. Well, at least there's not a Molina brother around to gun him down.
  24. TMK, TMK, TMK. WE SHOULD HAVE JAMIE KOTSAY BIKINI CALENDAR NIGHT!!!!
  25. Teahen's power numbers are really skyrocketing with the smaller dimensions of USCF.
