4/16 Games
164/506 9/55 Will sound a lot better when he gets up to 10+ hits. Facing a solid pitching prospect who throws very hard. Once again...Montgomery can handle heat low in the zone. Except now Teel is scuffling.

Atletic story on front offices...
More surprised by some of the teams like the Cubs included on this list...they have also had a very highly ranked farm system in recent years. Maybe players targeting Ricketts for not opening up the purse strings.

4/16 Games
Montgomery up to 8/54=.148 2 hr Teel playing, Quero sitting. Drury moved up in the lineup to get more at bats. Knights have now lost six consecutive.

Steven Wilson added to roster, Clevinger DFA'd
Balta? SSHM? I think I saw the latter somewhere online, maybe it was a SoxMachine thread with his various facts and figures a la Jay Cuda...who also seems a bit sick of the Sox recently. You guys are waiting for him to refuse Charlotte his reassignment first?

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Where has ANYONE mentioned three top thirty guys? Maybe if it was from the Sox system 3-4 years ago when they were ranked 29th.

4/15 Games
Look at the Royals' minor leagues before the 2014-15 years. The core of those WS teams moved up together one level at a time as a group and learned how to win together each step along the way...learned to trust each other, rely on each other...know what to expect in any given situation on the field. Pretty sure those future Royals won the Carolina League at Wilmington, then moved on together for the most part to Wichita and Omaha and won titles there as well. White Sox minor league teams just throw these kids together without any plan or strategy or sense of cohesiveness...and then we keep mixing and matching at the big league level but the majority of the teams have been imported via trade, intl free agency and regular free agency and not our minors. IMO, at least since Ozzie Guillen, there's never been an identifiable "what it means to be a White Sock" vision like the Cardinals have always imprinted on players since their first day in the organization.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Kyle Tucker free agency speculation “If he wants to stay in Chicago, he can always sign there in the winter,” an NL exec said. “Prior to that, I imagine it would take a massive overpay to get him to forgo an opportunity on the open market. Since he’s a couple years older than Vlad and doesn’t have the same tie-in with the Cubs that Vlad has with the Jays -- or with the country, for that matter -- I would be surprised if they would be willing to go far enough during the season to make him bite early.” While some reports have indicated that Tucker and the Cubs have engaged in some talks during the season, the majority of executives around the league believe he’s ultimately headed for free agency. Two execs believe the Cubs can get something done if they're willing to pay him, though it’s obviously going to take a massive contract to close the deal. https://www.mlb.com/news/kyle-tucker-cubs-extension-mlb-executives-weigh-in “If the Cubs don’t extend him, that may go down as an all-time terrible trade,” an NL executive said.

4/15 Sox vs. A's 6:40PM CT
.556 OPS in 1994 at BIRM, .202 average. 31 years old. Would have been the perfect year to play Michael Jordan in Chicago, if you had a time machine. Can't copy and paste and get the formatting to hold.

4/15 Games
I suppose as long as he's running 100% with no restrictions...and able to competently play CF, at least in A ball, there's no reason not to push/challenge him a bit. Ideally, they would keep all those guys together like McLain and Wolkow, but it might not be possible.

4/15 Sox vs. A's 6:40PM CT
Well, one positive, it's much "easier" to divorce a favorite sports team than a wife. Otoh, it's simultaneously more difficult for those who have lifelong ties to the team/fandom through family tradition/s.

Would be interesting to know if Pogofskys (son/s, father was original owner) still have their shares...or sold out to JR/Ishbia? Said in one of the articles yesterday only 8 other shareholders amounted to roughly 15%. $18,000,000 per shareholder, so if equal, would be $33,750,000 million in theory divided across 8 (at a $1.8 billion valuation) (He/Pogofsky was the one partying with Clevinger and Zach Plesac when they were on the Indians/Guardians during Covid lockdowns in Chicago. Leading to potential charges of tampering that concerned JR...leading to the White Sox somehow in this conspiracy theory wanting to keep Clevinger "in-house" to avoid a case with MLB.)

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
Yeah, the only realistic choices were Robert and Vaughn...and they didn't want to have a Bobblehead Night for a player already traded away. I guess the same with Benintendi, coming off his second half last season.

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
Well...the front office obviously doesn't care if they even have a watchable product at this point. So one way to assess the theoretically negative impact is whether fans are still attending despite the previous two seasons.

Golf/PGA TOUR thread
That's why I will always remain amazed that time where Tiger had the streak of consecutive majors won when he was leading going into the final round and that obscure South Korean golfer knocked him off out of nowhere.

4/15 Sox vs. A's 6:40PM CT
Good news is even at -12 RS/RA they're actually right up there or ahead of 9-10 teams. Big improvement from last year...but this offense needs some help NOW. Maybe Quero, maybe Drury, but they need to do something to support the pitching staff. Not sure if I want to see Corey Julks again, but he's been hitting pretty well in Charlotte, about as well as anyone else. Obviously waiting on Tauchman Benintendi and Rojas as well.

4/15 Games
The only question now is whether they leave him down long enough to get named to the first half All-Star team. I would guess 6 weeks total if he keeps this up, 8 weeks early June to High A at the latest.

Certainly the FA spending going into the 1983 season was a pretty dramatic change. But that's over 40 years ago, so...

Can Shane Smith win AL Rookie of Year?
Dominguez having a big game tonight. Yankees and Red Sox always have that built-in media advantage to start off with...the only way to win in the face of that is to have overwhelming numbers.
