It's not that big a deal. Any player leaving the White Sox for the teams on the coasts that consistently draw 30,000+ per night might have that very same feeling. Basically...our record is like that of a AAA team playing in the majors the last 2-3 seasons. Or let's say an Athletics or Rays' player left those organizations for the Dodgers Mets Phillies Yankees...would probably express similar sentiments.
