Fire Chris Getz
Not to mention they couldn't be any more different in backgrounds...former player route/connections hire versus starting in a big league front office and rising up from ground zero beginning at age 22. The Montreal and then Marlins minor league systems in the 80s and 90s...through the 2003 World Series victory over the Yankees culmination, were the envy of everyone in the industry. It wasn't until Tigers Red Sox Phillies years that he was connected with profligate spending...as he wouldn't have had to take those jobs on shoestring budgets, quite clearly.

Getz hired by Royals after 2014, leads them to World Series title in his rookie season in the front office "After retiring as a player early last season, Getz took the summer off to consider his career options and decided to stay in baseball. He had a discussion with Royals general manager Dayton Moore and assistant general manager J.J. Picollo, and was offered a job in player personnel and development. "They offered me a position that was ideal and would expose me to the other side of the game, in all areas," Getz said. "As I'm making the transition from playing, I couldn't think of a better place to go, considering my prior relationships and the baseball minds I'm going to be around, and also because of the character of them. I just felt [Kansas City] was a great place to go." "He'll get a chance to do a lot of things," Picollo said. "He's a good baseball guy, so I'm glad we got him." mlb.com

Dombrowski got his start as an administrative assistant in the Chicago White Sox front office in 1978 (age 22). He was their farm director in 1980 (24) and the assistant GM from 1982 (26) to 1986 (30). He moved to the Expos as farm director in 1987 (31),

Chase Meidroth getting promoted
Yes...CLE announcers very pointedly said "that's an error you just can't afford to make in that situation." Officially, it wasn't one.

Chase Meidroth getting promoted
When you make mental errors that are not officially assessed by the score keeper as official errors...giving up outs and allowing extrallowing on throws, eliminating double play possibilities, it's not tracked statistically but it helps to harm the confidence of the pitching staff. We saw this the last two years and are witnessing the same yet again. https://archive.fieldingbible.com/TeamDefensiveRunsSaved Already back down to 21st in DRS and falling by the day.

Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
- Chase Meidroth getting promoted
All the questions with Meidroth at SS relate to his range, overall athletic ability/dynamism/quick twitch-iness and arm. We will see soon enough if he can handle it at the major league level or not. He can obviously make the routine plays, but his arm is much closer to 45-50 than it is to 60+. For sure, he's probably better than Sosa or Baldwin at SS, but the next issue is who's going to play 2B if he's at SS....whoever it is, they need to play together practically everyday to build up their chemistry/rapport. Then you've got Vargas, Baldwin and soon Rojas needing at-bats on the infield.- Chase Meidroth getting promoted
For just a couple of days... Venable indicated Meidroth, who is Chicago’s No. 8 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, would play all over defensively at Charlotte. Meidroth understands the plan but also enjoyed his 12 games at shortstop during Spring Training. “It was super fun, and I love short,” Meidroth said. “You are kind of involved in every single play, so that’s a big thing for me. I love defense. I love taking hits away. “So, yeah, shortstop was awesome here. We have a lot of good infielders so I’m looking forward to going down and working with Colson [Montgomery] and the guys down there.” https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/chase-meidroth-to-start-2025-season-in-triple-a-for-white-sox?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage “That's something that is going to be part of his challenge to get to who he wants to be as a big leaguer. So, we just want to give him some time to do that at Triple-A,” Venable said, per MLB.com. “He's a patient hitter and we don't want to change his DNA. At the same time, we know that in this league you can't let too many of these pitches in the heart of the plate go by.”- Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
Can someone with SoxTalk please attempt to interview Clevinger or contact him through social media...maybe he will say something publicly that gets him kicked off the team?- Fiery column...
- 2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/44617961/marlins-minor-leaguer-emaarion-boyd-gets-6-steals-hit White Sox need to learn some lessons here...six stolen bases in a game without the benefit of a single hit- Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
Or Keith "Martial" Law- 4/10 Games
Anyone else that MIGHT be able to be a big league starter in Low A/High A? McDougal and Oppor apparently have the best pure stuff. Many believe Tanner's future is as a reliever at this point, divided opinions on that. Because AAA pitching is a s--- show right now...and have a hard time believing ANY of the AA pitchers will be promoted in 2025 due to service time issues/have to have SOMETHING to market for 2026 season ticket buyers (it certainly won't be the latest FA and hopefully they don't draft a position prospect in the first round just to recall him the next season). It's only Iriarte/Nastrini/Owen White/Dunn as the rotation...but I wouldn't feel confident in any of those guys at present moment.- Chase Meidroth getting promoted
They seemingly played Maton EVERYWHERE but SS in spring training...maybe only 1-2 games. They favored Meidroth and even Tristan Gray, who was mostly at the other 3 infield positions over the last 2-3 seasons. Ultimately, it's not really helping Baldwin at this point to be moved all over the diamond when he hasn't even mastered a single position. Nearly every single game, he's making one or two mental or physical errors, especially in the outfield. Maybe they're not showing up in the boxscore, but they're costing additional pitches and runs to our pitchers.- Fiery column...
It happens to the best (and worst) of us...especially if you're on the phone.- 4/10 Games
Obviously it's only a handful of games in. It would be nice if just one of the top billed prospects besides Quero got off to a great start. Montgomery Wolkow and McLain are still the main prospects to monitor there.- Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Bring back Grady! Not even Ivy-educated managers can resolve this type of MLB active roster talent gap.- When will MLB Step In?
Please put Lance Lynn on the Commissioner's Contraction Committee in an advisorial role. If you can get him away from the dinner table first...- Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
What next...still not providing adequate daycare? Let's hear from Grifol or Grandal next. Would love to get additional insights on Getz...but former Sox execs must have NDA agreements in their parachute packages. Liam Hendriks might be the only one to remain positive in nearly any situation. Yermin Mercedes available for an interview? Leury's probably on the Caribbean island he now owns thanks to Hahn.- 4/10 Games
Kanny hitters not exactly lighting the world on fire... Hoping nobody expects Meidroth to be anything resembling a savior.- Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
That's on TLR/JR...bringing in guys like Lynn and Joe Kelly, as well as Graveman.- Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Thaiss saving runs...- Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Shocking that Ramirez didn't hit a GS. That would have been Josh Naylor.- Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
