  1. In Japan...throwing Colonel Sanders statue into local river caused a long stand ing curse for the Hanshin Tigers only ended when they dragged him back out...Curse of the Colonel.
  2. Vaughn continues to be worthless. Ofc that third run will bite them in the ass later in the game.
  3. Bregman's dad running for governor of NM.
  4. If Youkilis is the Greek God of Walks...what ethnicity is Meidroth? Four-spiel? Something like that was his Red Sox nickname for four balls.
  5. Grant Taylor out of Barons game after just 44 pitches and three innings...no runs, 2 walks 3 k's.
  6. Were there any besides Fletcher over McCarthy?
  7. Amaya now 4/30...hitting the railing gifts another run.
  8. Meidroth confident on that flip lol.
  9. Abreu looks really good but never fit the 2027-2030 Sox timeline...
  10. Maybe tampering down expectations a bit would be wise...it was never going to be a straight line process with him anyway. At some point things will just click.
  11. So much for swing decisions that inning.
  12. They're not going to cut a $5/6 million hitter this early when it's such a long season.
  13. None of them matter unless he's at least a 650-675 ops hitter at least...really needs to be over 700 to not be a replacement player.
  14. Because he's the closest to Pedroia and Youkilis. Kristian Campbell is too athletically gifted to easily identify with...
  15. Just watch and judge for yourself. He will take a lot of walks and has very solid plate discipline compared to the swinging and failing parade of stiffs.
  16. Sounds like the start of Six Million Dollar Man..."we can rebuild Steve Austin, we have the technology, better stronger faster..."
  17. He's almost more defending the Dodgers (and Padres) for spending "too much" or trying too hard to win...a lot like what Bryce Harper said recently, especially as it pertains to LAD.
  18. Except a lot of those pitching rookies (or with less than two years of service time overall) in the bullpen are late 20s or early 30s guys. Most are unlikely to be on the next playoff team. In fact, Meidroth or Baldwin might be the only current Sox position players on the 2027 roster. Odds are at least 50/50 that they don't make it. And we will be fortunate to have 2/3 pitchers from 13 total spots last. I will go with Shane Smith as the one keeper.
  19. "It seems like there are some teams willing to do almost anything and some teams that don’t want to do (as much),” Cease said. “I don’t know all the financials, which teams are run well and which ones aren’t. “But for me, personally, I have nothing against teams that go all-in all the time. I don’t think there is any negative to that. At least other teams keep their star players." Dylan...a Boras client, being about as nice as he possibly can be in this situation. The truth is not hard to discover.
  20. Hahn not being able to hire Hinch before 2021 was essentially the neutering of his power...and has more or less directly led to the 2023-24-25 seasons, along with the dumping of fan favorite Burger instead of Anderson.
  21. Look at how many games Baldwin has played in AAA compared to Colas Fletcher DeLoach and Canario...
  22. Pretty amazing that a player can make that kind of an impact on a new manager from a totally different organization in just 2-3 weeks being around each other...well, and spring training also. Hard not to cheer for guys like him and Shane Smith that were counted out or undervalued or taken for granted by previous organizations. (Greg Jones...we hardly knew ye.) At least the airlines will make a lot of money off the Charlotte Shuttle this year.
  23. He'll have the same caveat that Hahn had. JR didn't provide enough money to spend in free agency to "finish the job." Injuries/bad luck/but sound processes. Surprised we haven't recently heard the phrase "unprecedented financial flexibility/extended championship window" to describe the upcoming 2027-2030 reign of White Sox dominance...
