  1. Cubs lose again in demoralizing fashion. Mets and Marlins tied 2-2 late....1st and 3rd, no outs for Miami Top 9. Cueto started and gave a much better performance than his ERA would have indicated. Now 2nd and 3rd. Bell/Burger/Chisholm up.
  2. We can go back to 2016 and NOT trade Tatis for Shields again... Sox fans are missing entire decades of competitive baseball the time's flying by so quickly. Wouldn't expect a truly competitive team until at least 2026-27.
  3. https://www.mlb.com/news/josh-barfield-join-white-sox-staff-from-d-backs “Part of [Getz’s] vision was bringing in the people from other places where things have gone pretty well,” Barfield said. “Between me and Gene Watson and Bannister, a lot of this first week has been kind of downloading ideas and things we have seen, things that have worked, things that maybe haven’t worked and also getting to know how things are done here. I like the collection of ideas we have so far.” “Watching these guys play [for Arizona], from our dugout over there, those guys were developed right. I’m glad he’s on our side,” said White Sox manager Pedro Grifol of Barfield. “Smart, articulate, well spoken, you can go on and on and on. I’m happy he’s on our team. I think Chris has done a really good job assembling a nice group around him that’s going to bring some different ideas.” Balta's going to have a field day with this one...
  4. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2023/09/26/marlins-mets-game-postponed-due-to-unplayable-field-conditions-caused-by-tropical-storm/70975940007/ Mets left tarp off the field over the weekend. Yankees managed to play on Monday in the midst of a so called tropical storm due to their grounds crew. Could save the Cubs. Arraez out too.
  5. DH today is going to kill the Marlins' pitching staff down the stretch. Going to have to hope for a split and Cubs' loss for a time with three to go. Already down 2-0 on an Alonso bomb.
  6. Lol. You're right. But Elias like Hahn will be AL Executive of the Year running away because of that roster filled with youth and more still coming in the pipeline.
  7. Thompson leading Sheets Perez Sosa Remillard and Colas in OPS. Yuck.
  8. Crochet at 94-96. That won't work as a starter.

  10. Then we better not hear about competing in 2024 ever again…
  11. If he’s anywhere near Corey Seager and the White Sox are 90+ losses bad again…the fans will have to have something to look forward to. And good hitters destroy Charlotte. Just no point at all playing Andrus there and dumping Anderson for $1 million…especially when there is $29 million committed to Moncada and they’re going to ride that out to the end just like they did with Grandal.
  12. Why not the Mets? Well, whether she could win with a $120 million payroll and KW doing a Hoyer Special like the Padres trading Burger/Rizzo to the Cubs for Cashner and then later taking a position with the team...we will see how that works out. Or maybe KW was just trying to screw over or block Hahn? We will probably never know.
  13. Check the post right ahead of mine. Check Avisail Garcia and Jean Segura deals.
  14. There's nobody to replace him. Sosa doesn't belong at SS. Just hold for 3-4 months and see where Montgomery and the first round draft pick are...they will eventually replace Yoan and Anderson.
  15. Would be nice if Vaughn one year could put up Christian Walker-esque numbers. 33/106 with games left to play. Also, Twins closing in on 11 games over .500, was always going to take 85-86 or even 87 wins for the AL Central.
  16. Too much water under the bridge. They would rather throw Urena, Patino, Touki and Scholtens out there on under $1 million contracts than spend $8-10 million plus on Lucas.
  17. Or a quick playoff sweep like Marlins over Cubs in 2020...
  18. Shades of Brant Brown with Suzuki misplay. Or Grady Sizemore late 2005 against the Royals that Sunday before the final week of the season that crushed the Indians/Guardians.
  19. Marlins 1/2 game back behind the Cubs with six games left to play....going to have to play a DH one of these next two days, and Marlins have already lost Alcantara for the season already. Battle of the 80's Superstation Teams continues. ATL already at 101 wins.
  20. Go Braves Go! 8th and 9th OPS guys in that lineup would be leaders in Chicago, lol. Kevin Pillar does sound like such a Sox name for 2024. Definitely need a back-up who can play all three OF positions decently.
  21. Do they have the worst bullpen ERA in MLB yet again...at least since the trade deadline?
  22. Seems like Anderson would have 25-30 errors but it's only 15. Definitely much lower error counts around MLB the last half-decade compared to past days. CJ Abrams was leading MLB the last time I checked...and it wasn't anywhere close to the 30-45ish errors that SS's used to put up. Although the White Sox still manage to be a Bottom 5-7 defense nearly every single season...even in this new non-shifting era of the sport.
  23. Carroll was a lot more fundamentally solid. Similarly dynamic athletic skills and five tool guys (although it's closer to 4 1/2 with Robert's arm far from accurate and simply the decision-making process of choosing which base to throw to)... Btw, jury is still out on Alek Thomas (who everyone assumed was White Sox bound due to his father working for the team at that time). It's more than Carroll, though. For instance, the scouting on Zac Gallen prior to the trade with the Marlins. Or the development of Ketel Marte into one of the most complete all-around players nobody has heard of outside the West Coast. Of course, the DBacks are a much much younger team than the 2021-2023 White Sox as well.
