Nick Lopez's veteran leadership and local connections were worth millions in marketing tie ins.

Soroka signed a decent enough package with WAS that he should have been worth more than Clevinger at the deadline...ofc, Flexen didn't go anywhere, either.

Potential starters cheaper than Bryse Wilson or Flexen?

It's obviously what happens when you have zero additional budget for adding veteran bullpen arms, but you also want to avoid another all-time worst record simultaneously. Rock and a hard place. The Law of Diminishing Returns...we're pretty much the anti-Dodgers, almost.

At least we could have led the league in former first round draft picks but with Shewmake gone that dream is now deferred.

We took out the Braves' garbage for them, nothing more or less.

From the most expensive pens in baseball history from 2021-22 to the cheapest and arguably worst. Quite an accomplishment.

You spoke too soon...barring a miraculous Oregon Ducks comeback. 390 to 69 in total yards and still not to halftime yet.

Texas fans have to be beside themselves with angst/nervous energy. You can't do that twice in a row without karmic consequences.

Probably 20-25% on the worst MLB roster ever assembled.

The Sugar Bowl will not be played Wednesday following a deadly pickup truck attack in New Orleans that killed at least 15 people and injured dozens. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley said in a news conference that the College Football Playoff quarterfinal between Georgia and Notre Dame would be delayed by 24 hours and that other information would be released as possible. The decision to postpone the game came after the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans underwent a security sweep after two improvised explosive devices were found at the scene of the attack in the French Quarter district. espn.com Crazy/gutsy call there with the fake punt by ASU with 4th/9 on their own 21. Points here at least makes it a game again...especially a TD. But Boise State and ASU kicking games let them down.

That ASU fan shaking his head just now pretty much encapsulates the entire bowl season so far. Then you have Oregon Ohio State rematch in the quarter finals...maybe the two best overall teams in terms of talent, and meanwhile PSU gets Boise? Just have the Big Ten top two vs. SEC top two lol.

This misses Rodon (2014 the cutoff), Anderson and Tatis...but yuck. The crazy thing is almost every one of those picks made it to the majors. Just with limited MLB impacts. Top 10-12 is who's who of elite front offices. Red Sox and Yankees well off the pace.

McCarthy vs. Fletcher...?

Hopefully at least 1-2 games today can live up to the hype. ACC has been getting smacked around this bowl season.

To be updated when Sasaski signs in the next couple of weeks. If you took the vote again today, the Mets would suddenly appear with the combo of Stearns and Cohen's financial largesse.

His CF defense is questioned...along with the viability of his RF/corner bat.

Getz as Andrew Tate?

https://dodgersway.com/posts/5-trades-the-dodgers-regret-making-under-andrew-friedman-01h50amjsssg/4 And O'Neil Cruz as well. Which demonstrates the strength of their LA scouting network.

But this feels like dinging the Patriots under Belichick and Craft for their politics massage trips or Brady being overlooked by everyone. The Chiefs are right up there...generational QB who signed a below value/flexible contract to accommodate more talent on the roster is 75% of it. The Dodgers with their deferrals and marketing to Asia and monetizing Ohtani/their brand globally are transforming how the entire sport does business. A Taipei investment company paid $4.5 million for that 50/50 Ohtani HR ball just to put it on display for customers. How many fans of the Dodgers on that island will result?

Do your worst. it's probably Bauer and Urias with DV. By that measure, ding the Rays for Franco.

Puig Outman Pages Urias Buehler ... a boat load of young pitching Dusty/Carrot top, Stone, Pepiot.

Baldwin

Will Smith, Corey Seager, Gavin Lux (lol)

Allen has had that one lousy game down the stretch and then will probably sit this last one...but that throw to himself for the diving TD might have clinched it. Burrow has some many weapons around him...comparatively. https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/buf/buffalo-bills Not even the Dolphins would have bingo-carded Shakir leading the team in receptions...or Hollins. They have solid/capable TEs, but no great running back (Chase Brown has been a godsend for Cincy) and Cooper and Coleman are nowhere close to Chase and Higgins.
