And looking at Royals' drafts the last decade under Moore, Witt Junior has been almost the lone success. A number of pretty high first rounders that haven't even sniffed the big leagues. In some ways...Royals hitting on that run of first rounders in the late 00's along with Sal Perez was almost as improbable as the Sox run of Ventura Thomas Alex Fernandez etc.

He was expected to have more pop but he’s always been a high ceiling guy due to his position and defensive ability. Certainly was drafted high enough. Matt Manning has also been on a really nice run of late. All that said, the Tigers are 25-15 versus the Central and White Sox-like against the rest of baseball.
