  1. Jimenez admiring the ball that was never going out and almost got himself thrown out at second by Carpenter…
  2. “Colas not known for his defense…” Detroit announcers at least credited his strong arm. Shin high basket catches probably not how Getz drew it up on the board.
  3. Any specifics about analytics, scouting, Dominican Republic, Pacific Rim, talent development? At this point we're left hoping for Boston and/or Katz to be gone. A pitching coach with an all encompassing philosophy change for the entire system would be another necessary piece since they won't be buying any quality FA pitchers to repair the rotation.
  4. No Hosmer or Alcides Escobar? Probably bringing in Mike Sweeney to coach as well.
  5. It should take everyone at SoxTalk no more than an hour or so to look at the Top 30 list and realize the majority of talent is at least 1-3 years away. The first order of business should be sitting down with Katz and mapping out a plan for the Top 15-20 starting prospects in the minors as well as developing a strategy with Cease Kopech and Crochet among others for 2024. Whatever you call it (Camp Birmingham)... developing starting pitching internally is going to be a critical key to success without spending serious money to bring in talent via FA.
  6. The Braves are pretty much a dynasty at this point...minus another WS win or two.
  7. previously...obviously not fired in classic Sox upper management style
  8. I think turning his back on the Royals' Grifol and 2014/15 legacy constitutes a breach in the Getz/KC Success Backstory which is at least 1/4th or 1/3rd of the reason he now finds himself as White Sox GM. Tossing Grifol out would undercut some of the validity of the KC Success Translates to Sox World Series team lol. If they were so tightly connected in KC...why would Getz blame Grifol and not KW or Hahn instead for 2023? Conversely, it would look bad to not support him now as manager when he clearly could have voiced his concerns a year ago...that Grifol was not well suited for the Sox manager's job.
  9. Hostetler and Dayton Moore are very tight dating back to their Braves' days
  10. Did he provide one more specific answer the entire day relating to analytics or scouting/talent evaluation or identification? Just generalities about inculcating a winning culture like the Royals??
  11. Hostetler is going to be more intimately evolved now with the centers of power shifting. Katz is irrelevant unless he wants a pitcher demanding four or more years. Cease and Kopech are as good as gone eventually....probably at their lowest possible values even compared to this past trade deadline.
  12. Eaton Q Sale Abreu Tatis Semien >>> Robert and Cease and Montgomery
  13. Translation: the Cubs are at risk of taking over the entire city and driving remaining Sox fans forever underground into hiding Also does this mean he talked to Ken Harrelson again...or just TLR and Dayton Moore?
  14. Has to be someone like Buddy Bell. (Moore is not leaving the Rangers. He belongs in much more conservative Texas.) Bell can be the curmudgeonly Father/Grandfather figure.
  15. PornHub running the White Sox would at least least to better promotions and cheerleaders since we're already going backwards as is. Just not so sure about Family Sundays.
  16. We would be better off with TLR than JR and Getz arguably...because he's obviously blaming Hahn and KW more for the current state of Sox minors than his boy Getzie.
  17. Not shocking that nary an example of this was provided...maybe he was watching the Sox opponents in AZ or at a minor league game and confused the two? Hilarious that's supposedly one of the primary factors in Getz getting named GM and it was at least a 50% likelihood that it was a case of mistaken identity in terms of players with well-executed fundamentals.
  18. We've not only moved on from five year deals for pitchers but now we've abandoned four years and are capped at three. What they were planning to do with Tanaka or Wheeler had they actually won the bidding for those two...not sure. But we save lots of time and resources eliminating Tier A/B free agent pitchers now at least...so we can fully concentrate on Tiers C & D. Brilliant. New form of Moneyball right there.
  19. He just depressed a newly-vibrant Ohtani market. Tampering. Collusion. If we forfeit a draft pick...even more money can be saved, right? Or do they still have the same amount to allocate over the remaining picks?
  20. We're moving the team to Beijing now, Ron (Trump jokes inappropriately directed at McConnell's wife)...
  21. Our new goal is not an 800 or 700 OPS, but 610ish will do just fine. You know Brian Anderson's going to end up with the Sox here soon...
  22. Maybe the Royals? They at least have their fans distracted temporarily with the new park possibilities and attached entertainment district plan. If only they could have announced the $5.2 million savings from Clevinger deal are going directly into the revamped analytics department. Alas no takers on that guy probably. PR hit too distracting to a playoff contending clubhouse.
