Classic White Sox Jackie/#42 story: '86 Jack Perconte
Man, those were some ugly...albeit colorful, uniforms that year. A far cry from the iconic hat style coming just a few short years later.

Nastrini and Cannon to be Called Up
That would require someone in this group to basically be a highly opinionated Cy Young-winning pitcher...a run on Soul Glo for Melido as well as an abbreviated no hitter and finally, a crafty shorter than average lhp gainng the moniker of Bulldog.

Nastrini and Cannon to be Called Up
Also cutting back on the scouting budget...

Nastrini and Cannon to be Called Up
Grifol simply can't survive without the quintessential veteran loogy. Plus, Royals connection.

Stop the presses: Sox hold team meeting
This typically works about as well as the dreaded "vote of confidence."

Classic White Sox Jackie/#42 story: '86 Jack Perconte
https://www.mlb.com/news/former-mlb-players-reflect-on-wearing-number-42 Jack Perconte was the quintessential 1980s second baseman: a .270 career hitter over seven seasons, more walks than strikeouts, two career home runs in 1,630 plate appearances, able to steal 30 bags in a full season, and a solid defender. He debuted with the Dodgers in 1980 before spending two seasons each in Cleveland and Seattle. His final stop was with the White Sox in 1986. “I was given forty-two for my short stint with the Chicago White Sox,” he wrote on his website. “That memory is right up there with my few accomplishments on the big-league stage, and with each passing year, I consider it my proudest achievement.” That first game in Chicago, on Aug. 25, 1986, was memorable for another reason, he wrote: “For my first night with the White Sox, along with the number 42 on my jersey, was the name Preconte. I played with a misspelled last name for an entire game. That is how sports go; the low is never far behind every high. Ha.” But the importance of the jersey number didn’t resonate with Perconte right away.

Give him more deep dish pizza so he eats his way off the team…

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
What's the worst thing that could possibly happen? More stabbings outside gentlemen's establishments?

Add new players? Getz' response - "Easier said than done"
Washington Nationals (-) Signed to a minor-league deal, Jesse Winker (.341 average, .982 OPS) could be an interesting trade target this summer. Why did they even bother to acquire DeLoach when they were simply going to waste even more money on Pham/Pillar/Grossman/Phillips, etc.???

20-142
Still not accounting for two additional losses...at any rate, next loss against KC would be for a 20-142 pace.

Top 10 Pitching Prospects
Just try to find a good 3B for fantasy leagues, lol. I have about 5 SS already, but third is really bereft of impact talent once you get past the top 5-6 guys. At the very least, Burger was a fan favorite...would be the top offensive player on this year's team (after Robert went down) and the obvious replacement for Moncada at third. Now Colson could certainly end up at third, or even Ramos, but that would leave the Sox a SS short again, unless you believe in the sudden resurgence of last year's first round pick after less than two weeks of action.

Under what scenario would you consider offering Crochet and/or Kopech extensions?
"One pitcher to keep a close eye on this year is the White Sox’s Garrett Crochet. A No. 1 draft choice out of Tennessee in 2020, Crochet was called up to the majors as a reliever Sept. 18 that year and from there to the end of the season he threw the second-most 100-mph pitches (45 out of a total of 85 or 52.9%) in the majors. A year later, in April 2022, he underwent Tommy John surgery. This season the White Sox made him a starter where he’s so far been close to unhittable — but heading into the weekend, he hadn’t thrown a single 100-mph pitch and his average four-seam fastball has been 94 mph. It would seem he’s learned from the Tommy John surgery the necessity of being a pitcher and not just a thrower." https://www.yahoo.com/sports/bill-madden-baseball-obsession-velocity-093000833.html

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
Erik Hosmer next ex-Royal to influence Sox lol. "He recently interviewed Tommy Pham, his former teammate in San Diego, who’s still unemployed despite hitting 16 homers and driving in 68 runs last season while helping lead the Diamondbacks to the World Series. “How has he not signed at this point of time?" Hosmer says. “You’re talking about a guy who makes an impact, who’s great in the clubhouse, and he’s not getting what he deserves. Why aren’t teams trying to acquire a proven winner like this?" https://sports.yahoo.com/pat-mcafee-show-baseball-former-103821412.html Still getting paid $13 million by the Padres NOT to play.

ESPN predicts 120 loss season for the White Sox
"That goes for playing banged-up, too. Elly De La Cruz spent extra time in the trainer’s room Sunday, but there was zero thought given to a day off, even with a long trip to Seattle after the game for a series that starts Monday. “To play this game the right way, you cannot be fearful,” manager David Bell said. “You have to prepare and then play all-out. As a matter of fact, I think the harder you play and the more fearless you are, it can actually be healthy. If you’re tentative or protective, it can lead to injuries. Elly plays extremely hard and has a high-revving engine, so there will be some maintenance, but it all starts with him wanting to be on the field every day no matter what it takes.” What a concept. It’s doubtful the Sox can relate. Three-Dot Dash During the weekend, Getz weakly attributed fans’ “frustration” to the team’s “early-season struggles from a win-loss standpoint. www.suntimes.com/sports Greenberg

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/phamth01.shtml .774 ops last season looks like an absolute slugger on this team.

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
Josh Fields in LF. Teahen in the OF and 2B. Burger at 2B. Avi in CF. Dye in CF/SS. Viciedo basically anywhere. The ghost of Erstad basically anywhere.

Didn't you see the Monster-verse movies? They can send JR to in-between world (between the Earth's surface and core) of the dinosaurs and Godzilla/Kong. When he emerges from underground in 2044, he will still be preserved at the same age as today.

Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
Yet he's still probably the best hitter on the active roster...once that move transpires. His numbers last year were pretty decent. Never going to be much of a defender, but I think they've thrown that out the window now just trying to generate runs in any way possible.
-
Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
Which one goes? Pham is right-handed and can't play CF...so one would think it's Grossman, not that it even matters in the slightest at this point.

4/14 Games
One of the worst teams in baseball deserves both a Goosenberg and a "Hack"enburg. At least we also have "Willits" Tower, although I would guess he's actually short and an Eckstein-like middle infielder. Heisenberg?

Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?
Just hard to imagine with how great a season Kim had last year and how much he loves being on the West Coast and hours closer to Korea...Adames just feels much more realistic. Overpay for Kim would be pretty substantial to get him to move to the worst team in baseball after what he experienced the last 2-3 seasons in terms of playoff expectations. He just feeds off the huge fan support there.

Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?
Royals' PR campaign was incredibly tone deaf...sound familiar?

4/14 Reds @ Sox 1:10
Better for golf to have a likeable guy on top with all this LIV crap.

Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?
And that was with it already attached to the most successful and most popular NFL franchise in recent memory. Kansas Citizens love their Chiefs...you have to live there to actually understand it.
