Just try to find a good 3B for fantasy leagues, lol. I have about 5 SS already, but third is really bereft of impact talent once you get past the top 5-6 guys. At the very least, Burger was a fan favorite...would be the top offensive player on this year's team (after Robert went down) and the obvious replacement for Moncada at third. Now Colson could certainly end up at third, or even Ramos, but that would leave the Sox a SS short again, unless you believe in the sudden resurgence of last year's first round pick after less than two weeks of action.

Yet he's still probably the best hitter on the active roster...once that move transpires. His numbers last year were pretty decent. Never going to be much of a defender, but I think they've thrown that out the window now just trying to generate runs in any way possible.

Which one goes? Pham is right-handed and can't play CF...so one would think it's Grossman, not that it even matters in the slightest at this point.

Just hard to imagine with how great a season Kim had last year and how much he loves being on the West Coast and hours closer to Korea...Adames just feels much more realistic. Overpay for Kim would be pretty substantial to get him to move to the worst team in baseball after what he experienced the last 2-3 seasons in terms of playoff expectations. He just feeds off the huge fan support there.

Assuming from this strategy you're already planning on Montgomery moving over to third? I guess I am not seeing how overpaying for a non-star SS is really going to move the meter...you certainly don't want to pay for past production for players nearing their down sides, yet we are already trying to clear out Robert with with 3 1/2 years remaining on his deal simultaneously.

Not saying I would like it...just that investing time and taxpayer dollars into "saving" this team under thos regime doesn't do much. Remember when MLB threatened to contract the Twins?
