  3. Nobody would have predicted that adding Mahle and deGrom turning down now the Braves' potential trade would work out so well... "Meanwhile, Mahle has been dealing since joining Atlanta, pitching well in his first two starts with the Braves. There is no telling what deGrom would have done in those two starts, especially now that he is dealing with triceps fatigue."

  5. Crazy how much pitching talent Boston has given up recently...Rutschman deal for minor league right-handers Anthony Eyanson and Kyson Witherspoon, Mead deal for Tolle, Kyle Harrison/Shane Drohan to Brewers, Sandlin and Hicks, etc. Bello has collapsed, too.

  7. Hicks and Newcomb have definitely been key bullpen cogs recently...along with Taylor and Hudson, ofc.
  8. We did the same with Sale Crochet Cease Rodon Giolito Lopez...very little to still show for all those pitching departures except for the Crochet trade.
  9. The last 2-3 seasons GRF has played slightly offense negative...which includes all hitters, Sox and opponents. Rated 98-99 with 100 neutral Seattle by comparison at 91-92 and the worst park for offense in the majors. And Vaughn has done much better with Milwaukee than the Sox btw.

(One of the Six Flags most violent and famous coasters has recently been taken off line for weeks now after a serious injury, pretty sure to the neck.)
  12. There really aren't any after Skubal and King. Canning might actually be the third best FA pitcher, and not even Skubal has looked like a $350-400 million starter as of yet.
  13. Especially with a 7+ career ERA against Cincy before that start.

  18. Would think he would just be happy to exit with the team on such a positive upswing compared to 2023-25...leaving his Sox legacy a bit less tarnished.
  19. Upon completion, Amtrak purchases the facility from Canal Edge (Ishbia-linked entity) using federal grants ($363 million). Once the new facility is purchased, Amtrak and Shore Capital Partners (Ishbia again) can complete the purchase of 47 acres at the 14th Street rail yard. Amtrak will begin vacating that lot to prepare for commercial development. This plan will be championed as a great example of how private partnerships can aid the public; a huge boost to CHIP efforts in modernizing rail infrastructure that not only benefits Chicago but also the entire Midwest. All of these activities won’t happen overnight, but if everything goes according to plan, ***the 14th Street rail yard could be ready for commercial development as early as 2029"*** Soxmachine.com
  20. "Ishbia was the only publicly known interest, it's not impossible that he's backing out because he knows he wasn't getting the Twins since the Pohlads were merely looking to trade debt relief for an ownership stake." Twins had even more debt than the Sox, Ishbia already owned shares in the Sox (maybe 5-10%)...the greater Chicago media market potential ("sleeping giant"), his business and mansion located there. Biggest reasons...that he would eventually be able to get the controlling shares, at least the option to buy them from 2029-34. Many of the Ishbia articles with attached comments expressed the opinion he was interested in being part of a new stadium project as well, but it would take some deeper searching.
  21. It's just okay. Easy to access...that's one big positive. I think a lot of the negative feelings might be related to the Pohlad's ownership during this time as well as the lack of a massive home field advantage playing there compared to the HHH.
  22. Only team in long mlb history with a hitter with 20+ hbp in Antonacci and pitcher with 20+ hbp in Kay.
  23. Secure a stadium deal from who/m? What is Jerry's leverage this time around when politicians would argue that Ishbia can do most of the financing himself? And why would he agree to buy the team without having a significant say in the design/construction of a new ballpark? That was one of the main reasons Ishbia abandoned the Minnesota Twins opportunity.
  24. Also has to be part of the reason Korey Lee has been buried in the minors all year...
