Which teams will win / finish in last in 2024 within the American League Central?
Detroit to win it, Sox to finish last. There is zero chance the Sox can win this division, the pitching is not even close to being able to compete.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Nah I didn't change that, its just how it is. The majority of people on this board can barely get along with each other, now we got some Orioles fans in here to let us know what our players should be worth and how great their prospects are. Im not interested in arguing with you about it because it will never lead to anything. I have my opinions and you have yours, nothing will change that unless Cease does get traded to the Orioles and then we can say "See I told ya so". Nothing personal against you, but both major sports teams message boards I frequent its always the same s%*# when fans from other teams come in to try and engage in discussions.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
From 2020-2023 Bummer was essentially a 3.00 FIP with 12 K/9 Over a 4 year stretch, i'd say that's pretty damn good for a reliever. His 2023 ERA was damn near double his FIP. We all know why that happened. As I already said, it was time to move on and I understand why everyone was tired of Bummer.

"I feel like everytime I see Bummer pitch he does bad" does not outweigh statistical data.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
I get why everyone was so sick and tired of Bummer, but this guy is definitely not better than Bummer. Bummer was a lot better than his reputation around here.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
Why even spend that money at all though, they had equally as disappointing options already in house.

This season is shaping up to be more of a disaster than I ever thought possible.

Cease To Padres per Passan
They don't match up well if the White Sox want pitching, but if you are turning down overall better packages because you want pitchers in a return that's just terrible roster management.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Other than one person, or you know arguably the best pitcher in baseball. Hopefully they get in on Cease at some point, would love to see him go to New York. The stache will fit right in.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
Guys with upside are almost always cheap, key word is "upside" which means their current performance doesn't warrant a high contract.

Sox sign former Royal LHRP Tim Hill to 1-year, $1.8M contract
This is what happens when you don't clean house. Hahn and Williams get fired because they were bad at their jobs, and they just promote someone from the same regime who was also bad at their job to take over. Oh, but now some of these no upside guys can play defense though. See, its a little different.....

Cease To Padres per Passan
The Yankees are loaded. Judge missed a lot of time with an injury and they just added a 5-6 WAR player in Juan Soto. Baltimore has no pitching. The Yankees will finish ahead of the Orioles in 2024.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Im sure it will ramp up eventually as the SP FA market starts to settle itself

Cease To Padres per Passan
Im not interested in trading with Baltimore, they had their shot to make a run and decided to play it safe. Plus, I want these O's posters to go back to their homes and get out of here with their ridiculous assessments of not only Cease but the comical take on Robert as well. Yankees aren't going to be an 82 win team again, Orioles finish 3rd or 4th. Book it.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto got $325 million 12 years from Dodgers (+posting fee)
It didn't, totally slipped my mind that they wouldn't have been paid a normal season. Yeah, so pretty much you need to be pushing $150+ with a few rare instances if you want to win a title.

Ok that makes sense then

The 2020 Dodgers only had a $95M payroll? wow. So at first glance, this looks really spread out but what would an $85-90M payroll in the early 2000's be compared to today? That might change how this looks a little..

Cease To Padres per Passan
That’s very much a possibility, and considering his 3.72 FIP I would assume expecting a substantially better performance is fair
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Cease is fine, he was on a team with a horseshit defense and a season that was over after the first month. Wait until next season now that we’re loaded on defense with studs Moldonado, Lopez, DeJong and Stassi. ERA will be much better, but record not so much.

Cease To Padres per Passan
The Orioles are going to be stuck in the wasteland of trading their proven players who are getting expensive and expecting every single prospect they have to pan out. To which they will eventually be back in the basement where they have spent the majority of the past 25 years.
