  1. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) Heartless f***s How does this make them heartless?
  2. Zaleski with 6 strong innings but is getting outdueled for the Knights Zaleski is 27, but having a damn good year. That was his first outing with the Knights. Viciedo goes yard for the Barons Hudson pitching well. Nothing much to say about Dash game Kanny losing 7-6 Mitchell 1-3 with a triple. Phegley went yard. Leesman got crushed. I lost.
  3. We can't regret the deal from AAA stats. Let him hit in the Majors, then the naysayers can brag about how right they were.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) But I think it's a good deal for both teams. The Cards have the best hitter in the game in his prime years, I think they should basically do what they need to do to win in the next year or two. Also, they are a bigger market, so they'll likely be able to offer arbitration to Holliday and DeRosa so they can get them back or get picks if they leave. Right, other than Wallace, the other two aren't spectacular looking prospects and I'm not sold on Wallace being an all-star type player. The Cardinals need to continue to sell the farm to support Pujols while they can. I think it could be a good deal for both teams. The compensation picks or resigning Holliday would be enough to justify the deal either way IMO.
  5. I gotta say I'm absolutely stunned at the confidence from the Illinois people. A team that was atrocious last year and they are expecting a bunch of newbies to be stars.
  6. I haven't found anything wrong with Telemundo's coverage yet haha.
  7. Charlotte down early, Egbert starting Ely starting for the Barons Dash game Kanny tied at 1, Sauer doing his thing GF at 8 Holmberg with a solid 4 inning start for the BriSox
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:51 PM) He has faced the minimum 3 times I believe. Actually it is at least 3, if not 4. Koufax faced the minimum in another one of his no-hitters (one walk, got a caught stealing). Of the 4 other guys to have a perfect game and another no-hitter, I can't find box scores for Young and Joss, but Johnson and Bunning didn't face the minimum in their other no-hitters. Even more rarified air for Buehrle. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) Gabe Kapler had a really great postgame interview, I have to admit, I like the guy alot after hearing his perspective. I was thinking the same thing. It's one of those things where you are embarrassed, but it's such a piece of baseball history.
  9. QUOTE (Linnwood @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Only thing separating Buehrle from being the only pitcher in MLB history with two perfect games is a walk of Sammy Sosa. And he picked Sosa off, I think he might be the only guy to face the minimum twice in big league history. I'm trying to research/find this. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) "ALEXEIIIII...!!!" It was almost like he was yelling at a cat to stay off the kitchen table. Funny. Awesome line.
  10. Not sure if anyone has brought this up, but Hawk's call was almost like "Don't you dare screw this up Alexei!" I thought it was pretty funny.
  11. The lines are overrating Illinois by quite a bit. Pick em vs Penn State? Just because you returned crap doesn't make it good a year later.
  12. Escobar is finally hitting a bit lately. He is ruining my recent track record of prospects that I liked early.
  13. He crowds the plate a ton (or at least he did in college and I'm assuming that hasn't changed from the HBP numbers). It's unusual even among guys who crowd the plate.
  14. There is nothing they do that we can't. We just aren't there yet.
  15. Thanks, Jason told me people like the draft in review ones so I figured I would bang one out.
  16. Barons tied at 1 Shirek on the mound. Winston-Salem up 2-1 Kanny off. Bristol lost 3-0.
  17. Hawk and Stone way off base. Calling out Beckham for a baserunning error? How about Pods made an awful bunt and it was his fault. Geez guys.
  18. He's probably going above slot and MLB wants those to go to the deadline.
  19. Happy 28th David Cook! You are now one year less valuable.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) I wouldn't lump him in as just a 1B/DH, he is an athletic baseball player whose main position is 1B. You wouldn't call Brian Urlacher just a MLB, would you? I think the difference is semantics. How good at the position he is isn't the issue, it's that there are a lot of really good hitters at 1st. MLB doesn't compare to 1B for that reason.
  21. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) I really think the Phillies are going to crack and offer Drabek. If that happens expect to see him in a Phillies uniform soon. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ml?eref=writers What is so special about Drabek that would make the Blue Jays want to give up Halladay for him? He already had TJS and his Ks are way down since getting moved to AA. I'm not saying he isn't a good prospect, but why would he even be considered untouchable in the first place?
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) Slayin ain't easy. For him, it probably is.
  23. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) I just quickly scanned the Cape Cod league All Star list and did not see Morgado on the list, not sure what that means. He's only pitched 20 innings there so maybe that had something to do with it.
  24. I don't see why people are so mad about this trade. To not like it is one thing, but it's surprising to see the type of supreme dislike for it. I highly doubt it will be a trade people will care about in a couple years. It's a good, not great hitting prospect that plays a non-premium position for a middle reliever with the upside of a setup man. It's not the Todd Ritchie trade and it's not going to have a major impact on either franchise.
