38 minor leaguers busted for steroids

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) I heard all these guys are just from the Cactus League and the Florida League or w/e's results didn't come in yet. That looks right. All the players listed were for Cactus League teams. -
Noc shoved Wade after the foul. The weird thing is that he had his hand in the air after he did it. I don't know if he was apologizing or what. Then Haslem being the hoodlum that he is took exception and shoved Noc way harder. Haslem was a major douche there. No need for that s***.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) What were the stakes then? Refresh my memory because according to your signature it was anything. Whatever, I don't really care. I say 2 weeks is fine by me.
-
Wow, I never would have made the bet if those were the stakes, but whatever. And, I can't help it, but f*** you TRU. You've just been pissing me off lately and I had to get that off my chest.

No love for Brice, Andy Gonzalez, or Adam Ricks. I'm not a big fan of A Gon myself, but Tom Collaro? Ricks I guess gets a rough beat being a rookie last season, but Tom Collaro was a rookie too. Brice has the age knock, we'll see.

Not bad considering we have had like 3 or less prospects in AAA of late.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Well one positive is the hear arte only shooting 67% for the game. It took me a while to figure out what the hell that was supposed to be.

QUOTE(orangekrush88 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) And does anyone know how SIU is doing I heard they were ahead of the Illini in recruiting this year, I can't find anything on them. Well since rivals.com doesn't have a site for Southern Illinois I couldn't go through them, but scout.com has info. I saw a couple of their 05 recruits play in the Illinois state tournament. They have Josh Tabb, ranked 20th best SG by scout.com as a 4 star recruit. His team (Carbondale) lost in the finals, but he is a strong player who can rebound well. He's quick with a solid jump shot from what I saw. I don't know about his defense because I haven't seen him enough, I suppose he didn't stand out. Bryan Mullins is a quick, smart PG who is a great defender. He was on the 3rd place team (Downers Grove South). He seemed like a good floor leader, and had confidence when handling the ball. Supposedly he is a very good outside shooter, but I saw nothing of the sort that weekend. Scout.com has him as a 3 star player. They also landed Chris Cornelius (3 star PF), Nick Rogers (2 star PF), and Jordan Armstrong (2 star PF). They are all out of state and I know nothing about them, but it looks like, for now, that SIU has a better recruiting class than U of I.

This game reminds me of the past 6 years.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) wait since when does a PG create shots for himself?? deron is going to be a good pro with his big body, defense, and court vision above anything else I meant for his teammates
-
Deron Williams #2 PG? Whoever picks him will be very disappointed. He is a good passer, thus the assists, but he is far from a PG in my mind. He can't create shots in an NBA style system. So unless some coach adopts the Weber offense (not gonna happen) he has to be a SG IMO.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Well since the bet is over due to deng being injured i have to figure out what your sig will be. But what do you think is a fair time to have it up for? Two weeks? A month? It was gonna be something with the illini but since they lost that would be no fun... I thought the sig had to be related to our bet.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) He's 6'6, and he weighs in at 285 pounds, but he's one hell of an athlete. With good post moves being a given, if he was 3 inches taller and weighed a good 25 to 30 pounds less, he'd probably be just another freak out of the PF slot in the NBA. He would have cut down his weight if he intended to play basketball.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) Why TJ Parker declared is beyond me I know

It seems apparent that Illinois' most important recruiting class in quite a while will be the 06 class. These guys are being recruited and will make commitments soon after the great season Ill had. The in state recruits, Scheyer and Collins, could be an awesome backcourt duo in the years to come. Illinois hasn't gotten the top flight in state recruits lately. Dee Brown being the exception and look where he led the Illini.

McKie was the 6th man that year for the Sixers, I think even 6th man of the year. I think Eddie Jones is a championship caliber starter. Heck, he might be a starter on a champion this year. Also, for people b****ing about a lack of multisport athletes: Julius Peppers. As well as being sick in the NFL, he would have been a 1st rounder in the NBA for sure.

QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) It really doesnt matter right now.. Chicago has good players, but they need a superstar if they are ever going to contend for a title.. they just have a bunch of good players.. they are going to just be a playoff team until they get a superstar and then they would have a better chance at winning another title.. You're right for now, but it still hurts to have an early exit in the playoffs as opposed to a deep run.

QUOTE(Cali @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) They said it during the broadcast, if you didn't hear it then you're SOL You tease.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) Not Tj Parker for some stupid reason. Where in the hell did you hear that?

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Can anyone's real name beat me? Will has over a billion hits. b****es. It's not our faults you're a word.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) Yeah man, I remember in 2000 when we got swept away by the M's I cried a lot. I was only in 6th grade at the time, but it still sucked. I couldn't imagine if it was the WS after having the greatest season in the history of the franchise. Also, after we lost this kid, a cubs fan, called me and rubbed it in my face that we lost. I didn't become friends with him again until this year. So yeah, I took that loss pretty hard. Yeah, after that squeeze I just ran for my room and cried. I loved that team so much and they were gone. As Hawk would say, 'Poof.' QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) Absolutely true. They are only ahead of MSU and Northwestern in recruiting in the Big Ten. Hey, not fair, NU has no available scholarships this season! Everyone is coming back!

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Hating Duke is a tradition for me -- much like the UIUC football team having no front seven or Pierre Pierce getting charged with sexual assault. Classic and all too true for many of us!

Does this include the playoffs?

QUOTE(Cali @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Okay, that's what I assumed was the reason you went with the pornstar comment. No one ever believes that's actually my last name... Now you have to tell us what your last name is.
