  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Anyone use Evernote? If so, how do you utilize it? I use it so I have my always changing work schedule available both on my phone and my laptop at will. When I have a work related email and have to check my schedule I can pull it up on both and respond quicker. Basically any cloud service with basic documents will do for that, but Evernote seemed the most accessible for me. Initially my only complaint was that you couldn't format text (bold, italic, underline) on the mobile/app version, but that's recently been upgraded so I'm perfectly happy with what it does. That said, I don't think anything I use it for wouldn't be the same on other services.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) Bedlam won't matter if the Sooners can't win at home... Oh, it'll matter. The stakes are just smaller. It's for the Big 12 title instead of National Title implications. That is assuming Ok State stays undefeated, which at this point they should. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 23, 2011 -> 02:20 AM) This is where divisional play makes the conference better. Now you have a few more teams that could decide their fate. Uhh yeah. I can't wait to be in the SEC where there are still divisions lol.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) 2nd round pick: Trayce Thompson, shoulder injury FYI Thompson broke his hand last year. It wasn't a shoulder injury.
  4. QUOTE (Boogua @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) Columbus (Ind.) East five-star QB Gunner Kiel opens up his recruitment, will take a visit on Saturday. http://bit.ly/qcNJZM Well, so much for that.... File this under the least surprising thing ever.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) It's Wisconsin and then some teams, a few more, a few more, and Minnesota. Exactly. BTW, I was wrong on the announcement thing. Curators meeting was tonight, announcement tomorrow. However, I'm not hearing enough buzz to think it's happening as planned. Who knows.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) Yeah, in a year where OSU is the worst its been in a decade. Come on, its a great schedule this year for the badgers. New QB learning the system with a home field advantage for 6 weeks? Gravy. And with all the hype for MSU, they just arent that good. They barely beat an OSU team that couldnt move the ball an inch and beat an extremely overrated Michigan team that will probably lose at least 3 more games this season. Their offense is putrid and their defense will be repeatedly violated by Nick Toon and Russell Wilson. So what's your point? The Big Ten is bad? I can't imagine you'll find much argument against that.
  7. QUOTE (shakes @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) I agree what the Sox spend is embarassing, but I really believe International signings and player development is a bigger problem. We've already see a change in philosophy, I hope it continues and expands into the Latin American markets. International signings is a part of spending though.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) dan, are you guys gone yet? Tonight is when everyone expects an announcement. Since the last curators presser everyone has pretty much assumed Mizzou to SEC. Once they stopped saying the company line for the Big 12 we all knew it was a sign.
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) I just wish the spending and influx of talent into the system could be heightened, but that likely isn't going to happen under Jerry's watch. Cross your fingers for hard slotting I suppose. That's really my only complaint and what you said also seems to be the only way the Sox will spend competitively. They seem to be decent to good at drafting and developing. 90% of the issues in the farm are related to a lack of spending, both in the draft and internationally. Everything else just seems to be dragged down by that because something says they have the worst farm system in baseball.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 01:37 AM) Yeah, that's how every conference with divisions does it, from the SEC to the MAC and everyone in between. It's why the head to head games are so massively important if between two teams expected to finish near the top of the division. The fun part with division titles is a three team tie, especially if all three teams have a 1-1 record against each other. That's why I love division play in football. Individual games are so huge, but there's usually a pretty tight race. It keeps more teams in the race later in the year and still creates must-win games in October.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 11:15 PM) Its overall conference record then divisional record. False. Head to head
  12. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Which brings me to a question on the new Big Ten format. How do they determine the winner of each division? Overall conference record? Record within the division only? Overall record (not thinking that is likely). Anybody seen a link that explains tie breakers as well? How on earth would it not be overall conference record? If the Big Ten is any normal, head to head would determine a two-way tie.
  13. Look at the 05 Sox, definitely pieced together as well. I'm not saying you absolutely have to have a good farm system to compete. I'm just saying the Sox have a below average one and it's not because of their drafting.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) He needs to add 2000 to that MVP list. Forget the steroids, he deserved it anyway.
  15. I found this interesting, although a bit shortsighted. As a stand alone, yes the drafts have actually been pretty good, especially when you factor in the limited draft budget the scouting department is working with. However, I don't think drafting has been the problem in recent years. The problem is that there's very little supplement from the foreign markets and player development has been a bit below par IMO. You're starting with average to good drafts, but not adding enough quality foreign players like most other teams and don't seem to be getting the most out of your talent. That turns into a below average system.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 06:09 PM) I have only seen the 2nd half of the Notre Dame game and this all the Michigan football I have seen this season because of work on Sat. Didn't even realize they were ranked 11. That is absurd since they haven't played anybody. That's a lot of college football this year. Not many teams outside the top handful pass the eye test. You can say most of the teams outside the top 10 aren't that good, but then no one below them looks better.
  17. Drinking one now. I actually like it.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) I actually did think they should have gone for it on 4th and 2 at the end, but the fact that Scheelhasse and Jenkins weren't even on the same page is ridiculous. The clock wasn't even running, at least make sure you're calling the right play. Yeah I agree that was the right call to go. You gotta think that's on Jenkins though. They wouldn't run a fade on 4th and 2 there would they? The out route seems far more likely.
  19. Mizzou may be in its worst year in several seasons, but we can still beat on Iowa State! Take that Alex!
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) 4 perfect innings for Terry Doyle incuding facing Trout and Harper. Struck out Trout. Short went 2-4, homer Finally something good from the AFL. It was a lot of blah for the Sox prospects. Saladino isn't playing very much.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Hate OSU but love Nebraska getting whooped after their fan base thought they would run the conference. That's Nebraska football for you.
  22. Sure looks like there is going to be a million points in the NU-Michigan game. Maybe only 90 lol.
  23. The bitterness is strong in this thread.
  24. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Oct 5, 2011 -> 01:17 AM) Basically, after seeing the prices, I don't understand how Gamefly gets any business ESPECIALLY from a casual gamer.. Why would you spend all that money a month when realistically buying games and trading them in when you're done with them is far and away a better financial decision.. Honestly, I cant remember the last time that I paid full price for a video game, its been years.. That was my impression of Gamefly. I saw the prices and thought 'you're kidding, right?' I'm curious what the new Netflix model will be. Considering 1 DVD at a time is only $8 a month and Blu-ray makes it $10 I can't imagine video games would even double that (which would still be less than Gamefly). If it's another $8 I'd consider going on and off it every few months, but if it's $5 a month I might keep it year round. I'm more hopeful than realistic I think though.
  25. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) I thought at first it was the Golden Sambraro award for most K's in Sox minor leagues. That dubious honor goes to Jared Mitchell. Danks was third behind Trayce Thompson. Sadly all three either were or still are top ten prospects in the system.
