In reading the SEC boards now that I have an interest it's funny how these fans think. Tennessee just went 5-7 and lost to Kentucky. I find a board where they are talking 8-9 wins with that schedule. I can't wait to see my school play in the SEC, Knoxville could be a trip. -

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) I think Dan Doeren, Kevin Sumlin, maybe Chris Peterson (probably couldn't pry him away from BSU), Gary Patterson (probably can't pry him away from TCU)...but that level. As you said Patterson probably wouldn't leave, but now that TCU is in the Big 12 it's a much better job than Illinois. Much better recruiting area, comparable/better conference, developed program. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) No, pretty much gave the Tigers Offense a C+ for KU game, D an A, gave them a B for the season overall, said they'll most likely go to the Holiday Bowl, MVP to Josey, and that they'll fare better then expected in the SEC next year if Josey returns, Franklin continues to grow, and they defy the odds and snag DGB. Good ole MUTV...if Mizzou gets to the Holiday Bowl I'm gonna try to go but it doesn't sound like they will. -
QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) I've been re-reading the graphic novel recently, and I'd just like to express how sick I am of the Walking Dead TV show. Where the f*** is Tyrese, goddamnit? The finale was the same old s*** they've been doing from the start. If I wasn't a fan of the graphic novel or a "ZOMG ZOMBIES" type of person, I'd have dropped it awhile ago. The one thing that I hate most about Walking Dead: people talking about the graphic novel. Where is so and so? Why isn't so and so doing this yet? Why is the TV show so much s***tier than the comic? Bleh.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) The way this finale went, I'm looking forward to the next part more than I was after the previous finale, despite this season as a whole being worse. I think that's just because there was little progress in the season until the last 5 minutes of this episode. I was thinking 'oh we finally have some story progress and you go on break, awesome.' The first season had a lot of story progress, but focused less on character development so the cliffhanger was relatively weak but it kept you interested throughout. Hopefully that they've got a lot of character development out of the way they can have a strong finish to the season though.

I'm not putting Wilkins in the top 10 prospects, but he skipped low-A and had a much better second half (.938 OPS vs. .730 OPS). He adjusted to the level. Granted, his OPS was over 100 points higher at home so who knows how he'll handle Birmingham, but I can see him being a Ross Gload type for a few seasons.

If you watch the Talking Dead after show the writer said that Herschel referenced that Otis was that one that rounded them up, so he was the only one aware of who was in the barn. He's dead and isn't able to connect the dots for the group. That said, I was still hoping for a 'we may never know' cliffhanger for realism, though they seemed to write their way out of it pretty well.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Iowa State has nothing to do with the way that these schools handled leaving. The way they handled leaving? Which was saying we want out and then getting out? Give me a break, you're just jealous your piss poor athletic department wasn't in a position to do the same. I expect better than blind faith bitterness from you, but this is a garbage stance on your part. Waa waa your school did something to better itself and it could have hurt mine, waa waa. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) Every so often I forget how bad of an in-game coach Roy Williams is, and then games like tonight happen. In fairness, UNLV just went bombs away from downtown. Hard to beat a team that chucks up over 30 3s and a 40%+ rate. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 10:45 PM) Take solace in the fact that my school was the only FBS team to not beat another FBS team. Unfortunately false. Akron's only win is VMI. -

6-6 Ohio State. Good times. That said, Michigan's excitement over winning a game they should have won by more (on paper) shows who the real king in this rivalry is. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 12:50 AM) Because I can. Don't care if its petty, I hope they all fail in their respective leagues. As opposed to Iowa State, which is already failing in its current league. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) You can't win with either school. A&M fans are the most delusional in the world. They truly believe they are on the same level as Alabama, LSU etc. Texas fans are the most arrogant fans around, the ones that can speak English anyways. Both schools have combined for 1 national title in the last 40 years. Yet they truly believe they are the center of the college football universe. This is true, but seeing Texas at 6-5 is a rare thing to be cherished. Last year was worse, but this team stinks too. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 12:10 AM) Why in the world would I want anything good to happen to A&M? Or Mizzou or Nebraska? Better question- why would you care about them? None are in your league so what's the difference. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 24, 2011 -> 11:33 PM) f*** you, A&M. Get out. Your bitterness is hilarious. Have fun with Texas. I can't believe you were pro-Texas in a game. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) What an awful ending by both teams to that game. As an Illini hater, I almost think I need to hope Illinois does well this year so Weber isn't fired. LOL heck of a statement. It's pretty amazing what has happened to good to great recruits in Richmond and Paul. I thought Paul was a lock to be a solid Big Ten starter, but man he's not there. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) A quick google search didn't show a bracket, but the field is... Butler, Illinois, Marquette, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Texas, USC and obviously Chaminade. Granted it's insanely early, but that looks like a fairly weak field. You've got two teams likely to be ranked in UNC and Texas and a few others with that chance to be (Illinois, Butler, Marquette). I don't see that being that different from this year. Duke and Kansas the top tier with Memphis and Michigan somewhere in the top 25. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) He has really good assistants at Mizzou. But also it helps to have a home court advantage of some sort. Yeah by all accounts the assistants are very good so that could be a factor in terms of in-game coaching. Then again, we haven't seen a game go down to the final 10 minutes yet. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:49 PM) Hooray Mizzou! My pessimism is jinxing them to be good. Ha I was discussing this and I can't recall many good teams that lose by 30. Not sure how good Cal is, but hard to say Mizzou can play any better. They beat Nova at the Garden in 2 weeks and I'll start believing big. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 07:46 AM) With 38 spots to use, and no MiL free agents signed yet, I have to imagine pretty the entire AA roster has been put on the "Active Roster" for AAA. Exactly. This isn't that complicated, I swear.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) Also, why are we feeding the zombies chicken? We've seen no evidence so far that the zombies just die for good if they don't have living flesh to eat. They said they believe they are just sick people so they want them to be well. If they think it's curable they will be trying to feed them to allow for any chance of a cure. That said, it's pretty ridiculous that they believe that.
-
QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) I believe ANYONE not on the 40 man roster is eligible to be taken in the Minor League portion of the draft. They are eligible only if they also aren't on the AAA or AA reserve lists.
-
Ok skyrim nerds, why do you need a keyboard? More controls? I know little about the game, but I don't see why it would be such a difference. I personally like the freedom of a controller.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:48 AM) So here is my confusion. For Doyle and Kuhn, are they both only eligible for the Major League phase? If so, then I agree that the Sox don't really need to protect either one, as I don't see anyone putting them on their 25. But if either is minor league phase eligible, to go only on a team's 40, then it seems a shame to not protect at least Doyle. Assuming this is accurate, the only way Doyle and Kuhn are eligible for the AAA phase is if the Sox simply want to get rid of them. So beyond the MLB 40-man, they'd have to be left off the 38-man AAA reserve list. Considering Kuhn has already been in AAA the Sox would have had to remove him for him to be eligible and the Sox would have to have a hatred of Doyle for him to be left off that list.
