  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) Any relation to Mike? or Harry?
  2. QUOTE(Iguchicago @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) I'm suprised Jayson Stark knew the Sox played yesterday with the Yankees and Red Sox playing. Cool nickname!
  3. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) Wait, let me get this straight, I don't have to watch Cliff pitch for 15 days? Damn this summer just keeps getting better and better every day! A lot of short memories around here :headshake
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) Or, if Sweeney is indeed capable... LF: Pods, Mack, Ozuna CF: Sweeney, Pods, Mack RF: Dye, Mack, Gload Or something like that. I want to make sure I understand the theories being posted in this thread. People want to replace a rookie CF, who is great defensively but is unproven against major-league hitting with another rookie, who is new to playing CF and is also unproven against major-league hitting. Umm
  5. QUOTE(Chip Z @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Forget about Politte, just throw Jose in the bullpen during his off days, lord knows he could handle it! QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) I love that idea, especially since Cliff is down on the DL. When using sarcasm please color your font in green. People might think you are serious. Thank you.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) One thing I want to know is his HR placement. I swear, at least 15 of his homers have been to LF this year. Can someone find that out? Out of his 20, 8 have been to LF. Jim Thome's MLB Hitting Chart
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) I didn't forget, I was at the game. And Gooch was not on 3rd base, which is the point of this thread. I'd like to see Thome's stats with a man on 3rd and 1 out, which is the easiest RBI situation in the game. They probably aren't very good. Do the research before you assume... Guess why...
  8. Don Cooper said in his next start Jose will begin throwing left-handed
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) See what happens when your best pitching prospect pitches more than once every week to ten days or so? Incredible job by the pitching staff, not allowing a hit with RISP the whole game. A guy in his first time in the set-up role is supposed to be ready and loose every ten days. Silly. We expect that...
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) You've been great this year man. I mean it, really great, just spectacular. But if you could make f***ing contact with a man on 3rd and 1 out, I'd really appreciate it. Sac Flys aren't evil, and this game would be tied if you could hit one. That's all, and I hope this thread gets a bump later as you get a game winning hit. :headshake unreal...
  11. If "Pro" is the opposite of "Con"... Then is "Congress" the opposite of "Progress"?
  12. My fave is the nice elderly gentleman seeling me my line-ups for the day: "Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. The LINE-UPS"!
  13. It's the day a unnecessary, crappy remake of a classic horror film comes out to cash in on the MTV-fed, teenage audience who weren't alive when the original was released!
  14. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) times like this the Sox REALLY miss Rowand, the guy was a clubhouse morale machine. Having Thome is awesome, but giving up Rowand meant a lot to CF defense, base speed, a near 300 avg, and a huge intangilble of keeping guys loose and simultaneously fired up. Watching him go this winter broke my heart after what he meant to them last year. Anyone see his diving cath webgem last night, or the collision at the wall that put him on the 15day DL a couple weeks back, that kind of thing just fires people up and I wish he was on our bench right now. Maybe we can give Philly Garland and Anderson in a trade Um...Anderson may be better defensively, Rowand might be a touch faster...but can you tell me when last year Aaron hit .300? Come on guys, let's keep things in perspective
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Who can match Hermanson's 0.82 ERA? What about Politte's 1.77 ERA? Heck even Damaso had an ERA of 2.29.... Since we dicussing it, I think those are the main differences right there: the abscene of Dustin and Cliffy being lights out.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) We saw the 2 star ones also. The rickshaw ride from the hotel to the park was quite the experience. The park sucks. The bathrooms are vile. The food wasn't bad at the park, but I figured if a star resturant wasn't concerned about the mice.. Fenway surely wasn't either. :puke And if you ever have to pick up tickets via will call... good luck. Get there at least 2 hours before game time and expect to wait. And wait. And wait. They are the most un-organized park I have ever been to. And a lot of the fans were assholes. I agree, BTW. When we took a trip out there a few years back they made Rob and I go back to our car and remove our White Sox jackets because, as they put it, " they were not responsible for what might happen to us." We told them that we were not obnoxious fans. We would clap politetly and respect their field. But they said the fact we wore anythig but Red Sox gear made us targets to all fans. Nice place.
  17. QUOTE(pcullotta @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Why is it so hard to just admit we have THREE problems with this team. 1. Bullpen 2. Shortstop / 8 Hitter 3. Centerfield / 9 Hitter The main problem changes from day to day. Three games ago, we lost because the bottom of the lineup failed to produce. They pitched around Thome; Konerko and Iguch sucked; and we couldn't score any runs because the bottom of our order was crap. Oh yeah...they suck. :headshake
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Flawed logic is a b****. Last year through May: Cotts: 3.38 Vs 3.22 now Vizcaino: 6.46 Vs 5.28 of McCarthy Shingo: 5.97 Vs 3.80 Jenks now You can't use full season stats for one and only 2 months for the other, it makes absolutely no sense.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Thanks Mr Obvious, you're a lifesaver! PLUSHIE PATROL!!!

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Expensive s*** hole. Not nice anywhere. Ate in a 4 star resturant and there were mice running around the dining room. But those were the best, damn-looking mice in the East Coast! Those weren't some s***tin' 2-star mice, right?
  21. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:44 AM) Quite Frankly his show is a piece of s*** and he is a first rate douchebag I still remember during the 2004 NBA finals he was a BIG Lakers supporter. After the Pistons won 2 games, he said the Lakers "Will win the title" then he added "Did I stutter?!?" when the studio host asked him how. Now he's the biggest Detroit fan.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) I just can't wait for the inevitable jumping of Southpaw outside of the employee gate by Rhubarb while strung out on meth when he hits bottom. It will be the perfect sequal to the the Ligue stories I tell ya. Ribbie is always there with a fix...it'll never happen.
  23. Our bullpen is a concern. It was one our strengths last year. But unfortunately its a problem that can only be solved internally right now and externally later.
  24. QUOTE(juddling @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) manny=3rd Mr. Spears. Oh you know that's coming down the pike!! She is a train wreck, but the sad fact she will never be a "has-been". She has earned too much money and the fluff showbiz shows will keep her in the spotlight forever. She'll do an "exclusive" interview with Barbara/Diane/Oprah, then she'll cry, make that inevitable comeback album and land on the cover of People magazine under the headline "THE COMEBACK" which will contain a story of how wonderful and brave she is....(unless some other celeb is getting out of rehab that week) :banghead
