  1. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 06:26 AM) Who'd ever think ANY of us want Tyler Flowers here in 2019? Hah! No joke
  2. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 09:39 PM) Part of me thinks this is damage control. “Sure, we lost him, but he was no good anyways. No big deal, no reason to lose faith or not buy season tickets.” That sort of deal. But then again, who knows. Never seen the guy. Damage control from a new management team who has nothing to lose by "bending the truth"?
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) Now I'm getting mad. This is irresponsible. We're not going to win a pennant without some leftovers. These 2 guys are excellent hitters and ballplayers and both have intangibles a team likes. If Hahn trades these two you may all have your wish, I may be gone as a fan. Done. It's ridiculous to trade these two and think we're going to win one or two or more WS titles with the rebuilt group. Ever hear of a mixture of guys who've been with the team a while and all the new young players? Hahn obviously (if this report is true) loves the fact all the statniks/trade people are praising him daily. Mr Hahn I ask you, what the hell is wrong with Abreu and Avi??? Why the need to trade them for MORE prospects. Take your daily prescribed chill pill and then stack another two on top of it... if they trade either of these guys it's going to be for a massive haul. Considering what it'd likely take for us to move them - like another poster mentioned - the likelihood isn't very high at all. Feeling better yet, young grasshoppa?
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 03:32 PM) Thymaster ? Thyranasaurus ? Thykwando ? Priceless! You win this thread ?
  5. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/gamm...es-swihart.html Braves expect to lose him The most astounding part, to me... is this:
  6. Yea man - I saw that when he posted it as well and instantly started texting my friends similar sentiments. Unf***ingreal. Dude takes BeastMode to a whole new level. "Can't wait to see this dude pitch with the Sox" was the exact phrase I used. ? So f***ing amazing. He's almost pulling a TON... SIDEWAYS!
  7. Just a friendly reminder folks - the original intention was to generate your own 2019 scenario... not just question the only poster who already did his version.
  8. Frazier was indeed primarily at third for the evil empire last season. Hell, we've got a metric s*** ton of cash and we'll get great pieces in due time. Harper and Manny are only the peak of this upcoming ice burg. We've got TONS of options. I'd be happy with Donaldson. Then you've also got the whole offloading a big contract / trade scenario. If it was 2019 or 2020 and we had the excess of prospects like we do along with a wide open payroll... you'd better bet your ass we'd be presenting the best offer. More opportunities like that will indeed come up at the right time - Not to the same level as a generational bat like Stanton... but, you all catch my drift and I don't need to continue blabbing. blah blah blah blap blap blap yada yada yada and a BING BOOM to conclude. ( insert "what the f*** is wrong with that guy" thought here )
  9. My initial thought when reading your free agent signings was, "no way we're spending over 400 million bucks in a single off season." Then I remembered how few financial commitments we have in the coming years and immediately did a 180. The 2019 offseason could be wildly entertaining for us Sox fans.
  10. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Nov 18, 2017 -> 08:50 AM) You can't trade Avi unless you are getting a s***load of a haul. It's tough to get future HOFers and you don't give them away. Be smart Rick. He's an integral part of our 2019 World Series championship team.
  11. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Nov 18, 2017 -> 07:24 AM) David O'Brien @DOBrienAJC I'm hearing there's a good chance that MLB announces results of #Braves investigation on Monday. Hip Hip. Horray!!!
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 06:06 PM) I'm sold. I want all the Cubans Look into some video on him - dude's a freak. I'd LOVE to pick him up for Avi.
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 03:11 PM) Of course he sees something. The guy throws hard. I'm just saying that working on his command will be a challenge from what cooper normally preaches. Understood my brotha - understood. ??????
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) I wonder about that. I feel like they consult cooper for ML guys, but after we acquired Lopez/Giolito it was clear cooper hadn't watched much on them. I wonder if he's brought in on the minor league guys or if it's left to the scouts. I've read on multiple occasions interviews with Kenny Williams back in the day and more recently Hahn which reference Cooper being consulted on draft picks, free agents, and trade acquisitions.
  15. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 11:21 AM) I LOL'd at your use of that Kopech pic in your banner. Hell yea - you're the first person to get the joke! Wanna prize?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 09:44 AM) Sensitive Squad‏ @EazyEthann @barstoolWSD don’t know if it means anything but…. Avi cancelled tomorrow’s appearance at Chicago Sports Spectacular ????? ? Hah - we're at this part of the offseason, I see. ??
  17. So... one thing I'm willing to do to help pass time during the offseason is make signatures for board members. Just give me a concept / overview of what you would like made including any phrases, players to be featured, style direction ( not required ), etc. I'll then make some photoshop magic and post your sig here in all of its glory. If you want to use the 2018 sig that I personally am using, you can also feel free to do that and we could have a #Rise crew kinda like last year how we had a #tank crew. Cheers ??
  18. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 17, 2017 -> 05:57 AM) Cooper may have some difficulty with this guy. He doesn't have many "rules" for pitching like some coaches, but he likes to teach "standing tall" throughout the motion. This guy really doesn't do that as he flexes his trunk over a flexed lower extremity. You know I respect your opinion and value your unique insights... that said, I must point out that Cooper is usually consulted on trades involving pitching talent. I suspect he "sees something."
  19. I dig the late life his fastball has on it to - moves in and slightly up as well to right handers and away from lefties. Totally can see him being a beast en el peno.
  20. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) The article stated he would be under international signing bonus restrictions. That would be so lame!
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) Source? It was reported at the time of the showcase - which was some time ago so I do not recall. I'll pull a google search to see if I can dig it up thou. Rosenthal
  22. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 10:29 AM) Yeah, you could tell he was nervous on camera I forget what year it was - perhaps 2011 when we signed Dunn / AJ / Paulie or 2016 when Sale and Eaton were traded... but Hayes was featured for the first time in a segment from the Winter Meetings and he was so nervous you could feel the fear emanating from the TV. I thought it was cute.
