QUOTE (3E8 @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) The funny part of that police report is where they have to specify any tattoos and the pro has "lucky" tattooed on her back. And I can't believe the ShamWow guy is making so much money from being the voice of these things that he's staying at the Setai and paying $1k to get laid He is the owner of the company or whatever. He's not a spokesperson.

My post should be deleted and this thread should be locked and pinned. It is wonderful.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread

Reggie would know how to pick winners from losers since his team won the NIT! -
Not that spring training stats should be given the amount of weight that they are getting in this race, but saying that Dewayne Wise has better spring numbers is questionable at best: http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/sortable_player_s...amp;compare.y=1

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) --If I download some "P2P" software, whatever that is, will I be able to get this song in mp3 or some other format that iTunes/iPod can play? That link doesn't seem to specify, but I would wager the actual download is an mp3 file. So yes. You will need a torrent client. I did notice that there were no seeders on the torrent (meaning no one that has the complete file). You will most likely need a seeder before you can finish downloading it. Used to be uTorrent, but I haven't kept up with these things. I would be a little wary that the description doesn't seem to indicate the file type, but that may be common on mininova. Your IP address will be visible to other torrent users so there a small risk that you will be detected by the RIAA or some such. BT guide: http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/1.html

White Sox @ Diamondbacks, 3/17/09

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) I love how his OBP is lower than his BA. Yes, how did you figure that? Edit: Sacrifices, got it. That's very grindy. -
IIRC, there was a segment about father and son Tim Raines on SportsChannel Chicago in '94 or '95. The younger Raines was in high school then. Ah, the stupid things we remember.

QUOTE (Wedge @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 09:47 AM) If Anderson could bring a Juan Uribe caliber bat to CF, I think I'd be happy. This is what I would anticipate if he was the everyday starter. .230-.250, low OBP, and 18-25 homeruns.

Ozzie once publicly said that BA needed to decide whether he was going to be a base stealer or a homerun hitter. Is that a veiled encouragement to juice? The dude is huge now.

Padres versus White Sox ST Game
JorgeFabregas replied to caulfield12's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) I wouldn't care about the unclutch part, I care more about the quality of pitcher he's able to hit against. His swing is so far out of whack that he can only hit AA quality pitching. Yes, I would say that that the concern would be that he's hitting late (against scrubs and prospects) and not so much early. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) Anderson has hit two huge homers in completely meaningless situations...but failed continually when his bat was needed in clutch situations. I wonder how much Ozzie and KW will take that into consideration, kind of like Albert Belle stats when he was with the Sox. Are you accusing him of being unclutch in spring training? -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) His bat will not "catch up" if he's sitting on the bench. He's proven that before. He was ok last year on the bench. .700 OPS--not too bad for a defensive CF. -

BA swings hard in case he hits it. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) The best player should play Does that go for every position? The player with the best stats in ST should get the nod?

So I guess the answer to the original question is...no. No one here, at least.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 10:45 PM) Oh and to hijack the thread for just a moment Floyd has his no hit stuff going today. 4 innings pitched NO hits. He also had his when-is-it-going-to-catch-up-with-him,-it-has-to-catch-up-to-him-sometime-right? 1:1 K:B ratio going.

QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) It is time to get something in return for all the time and money the Sox have spent in Fields. Viciedo probably got more than the Sox ever spent on Fields in his singning bonus alone. He won't be sent down for $$$ reasons. Both have been playing well this ST.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Really, right now, if Kroeger can handle CF (he really needs some games there) then he's got to be the frontrunner on all accounts right now. A Kroeger/Anderson platoon/defensive replacement setup would be something we could probably handle, especially if the last bench spot went to Lillibridge, who also hasn't had a lot of time yet but hasn't looked bad. In other words, right now, my bench/2b/CF is: 2b: Nix CF: Kroeger Bench: Betemit, Anderson, Lillibridge, backup Catcher. Kroeger has not played many games in CF in the minors. I'm sure there's a reason for that.

So who else is worried about Bobby's velocity this spring?

I'm also concerned that he may be over or underweight. -

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) who's the pbp guy? The son of Gary Bender (who is best known in Chicago for one or two bad years doing Bears pbp--he was constantly ribbed for mixing up players, etc). -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) Don't forget Brian Anderson... Are you placing Brian with the Colon/Ramirez group or the Broadway/Richard/Quentin group?
