  1. I wouldn't mind the Sox making a bid for him to play 2nd or 3rd.
  2. Obviously Hahn is going to trade Viciedo, Danks, and cash to Houston for Jason Castro.
  3. My college group of friends had our "Dirty Santa" gift exchange game tonight. It's white elephant, but with dirty gifts. I bought a fleshlight type thing, but it was a mouth instead of a vagina. Could have went with p****, but I thought mouth was funnier. The gift I received was a penis toothbrush and cock sucker.
  4. Has Flavum posted in this thread tonight?
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 05:56 PM) Signing Melky worries me for 2 reasons that have nothing to do with him on the field. I wouldn't want to go more than 4 yrs/$52M on him. I wouldn't want to lose our 2nd RD pick on him. Our 2nd RD picks recently have been solid picks (Danish, Adams). I'm not saying I would rule him out because of losing a 2nd RD pick, it just makes me not dying to sign him. And none of those things happened. I'm happy.
  6. Obviously C, 2B, 3B are still areas of need, but you rarely see a team address 5 different spots in a team so quickly. I think we are safely a wild card contender at this point. If Hahn can add a big 3B or C, I think we are a division contender, and if Hahn can add both, I think we become a division favorite.
  7. QUOTE (MAX @ Dec 13, 2014 -> 11:52 AM) Part of me expects a phil humber like regression. Pitcher in a new league, no one should be surprised if he regresses a bit from his awesome 2014. I think he could still be a solid 3+ WAR pitcher next season, but I don't see him being a 6 WAR guy.
  8. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 13, 2014 -> 02:49 AM) The Sox trade for Todd Frazier, sending Viciedo and Chris Beck .....and Anderson and Montas and Danish? Frazier put up a 4.7 WAR last year, 122 wRC+, 29 HR, stole 20 bases, and has been a really good fielder, and has 3 years of arb left. The dude has huge value. I'd love for the Sox to trade for him, but it won't be for spare parts. Unfortantely, the Reds best 3B prospects as ranked by Fangraphs comes in at #17, and he will be playing in Low-A this year. The Reds may be selling off parts, but for Frazier you'd have to offer them a couple of our top players and may as well offer Gillaspie as well.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 07:44 AM) 2014 fWAR: Lester (6.1) + Arrieta (4.9) = 11.0 Sale (5.4) + Quintana (5.3) = 10.7 Samardzija = 4.1 He didn't say "had better seasons", he said IS BETTER. That's a big difference, and the reason that comment is asinine.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 12:18 AM) What I like about this deal is Jennings is still young. Fits that age group Hahn was talking about. I like Rienzo, but this guy will certainly help us alot more. Hope he isn't effected too much mentally from that line drive. Prior to injury - 35 IP, 37 H, 32 K, 15 BB, 2 HR, 1.03 ERA After the injury- 5 1/3 IP, 8 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 3.38 ERA Obviously we are working with an extremely small sample size after his injury, but those are the numbers.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 05:57 PM) https://www.facebook.com/alli.urycki?fref=ts Wow! Right? I never got the chance to run in to her at a party at IU, but I wish I did. She's smoking hot.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 07:35 AM) It does. An adult rooting for and talking trash about 2 teams in the same conference? Mind. Blown. What?
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 10:43 PM) Wow. What a deal for them. :/ As in....ABC?
  14. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:53 AM) And somewhere there's a cub fan that would try to sell you the idea that its better to have Lester than Samardzija, Sale and Abreu. On another site I frequent, I had a Cubs fan tell me that he'd rather have Jon Lester and his contract, than Chris Sale and his contract, because Sale "has a scary motion that will ruin his career". And then he insists that Arrieta is better than both Quintana and Samardzija, and Lester/Arrieta might be the best duo on baseball. A lot of Cubs fans just have no clue.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 04:16 PM) Allison Urycki ‏@AllisonUrycki the great moment when your ex gets traded from the white sox to Miami! Thank you sweet baby jesus! ??#hegone #imfree Weird, I know her. We aren't friends or anything (other than Facebook), but I had no idea she ever dated Andre. She's a bombshell model though. Went to IU.
  16. I realize this is a minor move, but it's hard not to love this. Rienzo is a throw-away player, unfortunately, and Jennings is 27, has pitched 100 good innings, and is under control for 5 more years. Love this, even if he's only our 6th inning guy.
  17. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 02:04 AM) Ya this is crazy Dodgers broadcaster was just on MLB Network and made things even crazier. He just said the Padres may be the 3rd team, and it would mean Matt Kemp to Padres, and all the Padres prospects plus maybe prospect or two from the Dodgers to the Phillies for Cole Hamels. So in total.... Dodgers get: SS Jimmy Rollins, SP Cole Hamels Padres get: OF Matt Kemp Phillies get: SP Zach Lee, Padres prospects, additional Dodgers prospects. The idea is that the Dodgers could get Hamels and Rollins without giving up any of their big 3 prospects of Pederson, Seagar, Urias, and they could move an OF.
  18. I hope it's Masterson on a 1-year deal, the idea being to flip him midseason if the Sox are out of it, moving Rodon in to the rotation.
  19. Marlins have signed a starter, but it's not Masterson.
  20. The Rollins deal is not done yet because some speculate that one of the pitchers in addition to Zach Lee going to Philly may be from the Marlins trade for Dee Gordon. So, the Dodgers will end up making 2 3-way trades, simultaneously. Jesus, Friedman. Is he doing this from his PS4? Another theory is that a 3rd team is involved.
  21. So Dan Haren said he'd retire if he is traded outside of LA. The Dodgers have agreed to pay all of Haren's $10M remaining on his deal, so the Marlins essentially get a free pitcher they may never get to use. If I am the Angels, who are desperate for starting pitching, I call up the Marlins and say "Hey, give us Haren, because he is useless to you, and we will give you a lower level prospect in good faith."
  22. Dodgers get Jimmy Rollins Phillies get Montas, Carlos Sanchez, Zach Lee Sox get Dee Gordon ???
  23. Wonder how we could possibly work Dee Gordon out of this. Send the Phillies Montas + maybe?
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 01:50 AM) David Robertson's Awesome Strange Arsenal http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/david-rober...trange-arsenal/ Breaks down how Robertson's slower pitchers still get the job done. Visual aid. His fastball does seem to have a jump at the end. Certain looks faster than 92. I can't figure out if his breaking pitch reminds me more of Jenks or Santos. I think Santos because Jenks was more 12-6. Santos has more slider movement.
