Arizona Fall League - 7 Sox prospects
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 09:48 AM) I can't figure out how determined they are to make him a starter. We've seen quotes from him where he says he likes being a reliever, but with the improved off speed stuff he featured this year he is showing that he has the ability to hold his ground as a starter. He could break camp with the Sox as a reliever, but doing so as a starter seems iffy, and it seems like the team might think he has a future there. Just make him our new Axelrod. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 09:35 AM) Yeah, I'm fine with the Nucky flashbacks, and yes, that actor just complete nails playing a young Buscemi. I had to look him up to see if he was related or not.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 01:20 AM) Jumping back on the bandwagon, I see.... I didn't realize I was ever off it. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) Boardwalk. Dayum. Was pissed about , was confused but not that upset about . But holy s*** is Narcisse just so f***ing boring. Terrible, terrible villain and is slowing down an already slow season. I feel like this show is crawling to the bitter end.

Sanu was a great pick up for me. But playing Romo over Brady could really cost me if Frank Gore doesn't have a decent game tomorrow. I need like 8 pts out of him. -

Cowboys have always had a great passing game thanks to Romo, Witten, and insert a WR here, but now with an actual running game and a competent defense, this team looks REAL good. 5-1. This is exciting. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Manning's throwing everything into the ground when he's on the move. This is getting ugly. Tossed a gorgeous ball to Julius Thomas for the TD. -

f*** you, Torrey Smith. I finally dropped you last week, and you now have 17 pts in the first half. Guess I'll drop Welker and pick him back up? I don't know. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 12:05 AM) I'd buy one if the infrastructure was there. I'd have to live paycheck by paycheck to keep up with the payments though. Maybe when I get a few more raises. It's set up nicely in California and in Europe. They got the Tesla stores and Supercharger stations networked pretty heavily there. Across the Midwest it is spread much thinner, but luckily the Superchargers are only a luxury added bonus, not a necessity. Road trips outside of that pipeline are really the only drawback right now.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) This promise was made years ago and all I've seen is pushback on the date. Don't get me wrong, I love what they're doing, but at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, these are cars for rich people, by rich people...so forgive my lack of excitement until it actually happens. And make no mistake, the 30k model will NOT be this model, nor anything close to it. You mean, they aren't going to cut $90K from their price in 3 years? Whaaaaaaat? Of course it's not going to have all the insane bells and whistles that this one does, but I'd be willing to bet their $30K model will stand up very nicely against similarly priced models from other brands. I don't plan to ever own another 100% gas car. This tech we are seeing now may be tech we see standard 10 years from now, same way that navigation and heated seats and multi-disc CD changers and rear view cameras were only in the really expensive luxury models. This $120K (or whatever they price it at) is not something I'll probably ever afford, but it's good for the future of cars that it exists. Starts the clock on when these types of things become standard.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) I would put Micah ahead of Hawkins. Oh, that's true, I forgot about Micah somehow. -

I am not an ESPN Insider anymore, but Dan Hayes tweeted that the he thinks the Sox may have 4 top 100 guys this year. Rodon, Anderson, Montas and......Hawkins maybe? He say's Montas MAY be the 4th, which means there is someone in front of him. My guess is Hawkins or Adams. -

Picked up Sanu, dropped Adrian Peterson. Kind of on the fence about starting either Romo or Brady. If Romo wasn't playing Seattle, and Dez Bryant was healthy, it'd be a no brainer. But Romo + banged up Dez vs. Seattle makes me nervous. Tom Brady sucks, but he plays Buffalo. Romo is projected for 16 pts, Brady for 15. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 08:06 AM) It's another awesome car for rich people, who already have plenty of awesome cars. 30K model by 2017-2018.

I guess I'll put this in technology thread, since it's the most advanced form of technology in a car, but my god the new Tesla that Elon Musk unveiled last name is just amazing. I can't stop talking/thinking about it. Probably no coincidence that my favorite inventor of all time lends his name to my a car company by my favorite innovator of all time. *drool*

White Sox ranked 22nd best farm system

Ugh, B/R. In good baseball source news, Fangraph's new lead prospect guy Kiley McDaniel will be putting out his Sox list in the next 7-10 days I would bet. He has plans for the Cubs list to come out next Wednesday, and the Sox would follow after. He doesn't do a top 10, or top 25, he does "Until the interesting players run out" list. I think he has done up to 30 for some teams. And he writes up at least a paragraph about every player. Here is the one he released today on the Astros. I can't wait for his analysis of the Sox. He calls and emails a bunch of scouts both in the org. and out of it to get info on the players. Seems really in depth. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/evaluating-...houston-astros/ -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 11:42 AM) i think Balta should be able to skirt around that campaign because he doesnt live in Illinois. Unless they somehow force you to reveal your team loyalty before you buy a ticket I don't live in Illinois. -
I don't understand all the outrage I am seeing over the Shaw shooting. Unless what I've read/heard is wrong, some kid/guy fired 3 shots at the officer. The officer returned fire and killed the guy, and everyone is screaming racism and policing killing innocent black people again? What was the cop supposed to do? Let the person actually hit him with a bullet before returning fire? Not return fire at all because white cops can't shoot people of other races? I don't get all the protesting and outrage over this completely justified-sounding event. I'd like to hear what the protesters think would have been the correct thing for the officer to do while being fired upon.

So I've been basically trying to pawn Terrance Williams off on anyone in my league who will give me a decent RB in return, and no one would budge. So then I offered a guy in my league Terrance Williams and Zac Stacy for LeSean McCoy. We are both 1-4 this season, so I basically sold the trade as trying to move some deck chairs around to see what happens. He denied the trade, saying he thinks McCoy would rebound, which is fine, that's why I wanted McCoy, but he gives me s*** for offering Zac Stacy who is listed as "Questionable" this weekend. Saying I'm a dick for trying to trade him "an injured player". I said fine, whatever. So then today he texts me and asks me to expedite a trade for him because he was receiving a player that would play tonight. The trade was set to process on the 14th, but he wanted it done now. The guy HE OFFERED in the trade? Vincent Jackson. His status for Sunday? "Questionable". What a hypocritical cock. I called him out on that, but of course he never responded. Because I'm not trying to be unfair and hold a grudge, I decided to expedite his trade after I got the other owner to agree on it. The player he acquired in time for the game tonight? TY Hilton. All 223 yards and 28 pts from him tonight. I hope the rest of his team blows dick this week for that move. -

Crawford made some incredible stops tonight, Kane flashed some sweet moves both at the end of regulation/OT and in the shootout, and Carcillo didn't get much more than maybe 4 minutes it seemed, which is good, but still 4 minutes too many. Also, I don't recall hearing or seeing Cumiskey out there tonight, so either he got Leddy'd already, or he was a healthy scratch. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 09:13 PM) So the Blackhawks are in town literally the night before my birthday in January. For anyone who's gone to a Hawks away game, how much is a lower deck seat worth to me and what is the appropriate thing to wear? Just red in general if I don't own the jersey? This may not help much since Nashville has a "Keep the Red Out" campaign to keep Hawks fans from buying tickets, so the prices may have been inflated beyond normal Hawks away games, but we paid like $104 a seat to see the Hawks play Nashville in April and we sat in the upper deck near the top, lined up w/ a blue line I think. -
I've been hearing the name Carson Fullmer a lot recently in the Baseball America and Fangraphs podcasts. Sounds like he has the most electric stuff of the draft so far. The problem seems to be that he is shorter, 5'11", and sometimes has command issues. Some people think this may lead to him being an elite closer instead of #2 starter. Sounds like he has a plus-FB, plus-curveball-, developing change-up. And a fun piece of trivia, he is from Lakeland, FL, just like Sale. Fullmer is expected to be a top 15 or top 10 pick.

Rundblad over Clendening? Boooo. Happy to see Cumiskey made the team though. Despite his great Chicago sports name, in the preseason games I did get to watch, he seemed to be all over the place on defense, puck hawking. Excited to see how he does. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 07:56 AM) I have Blinders on My List. Only 6 eps so shouldn't be tough. Well, season 2 is currently airing, so there are 8 episodes at the moment. Pilot episode was pretty good. As I expected, it was just a little difficult to understand their accents, so I watched with the captions on, and that helped. I really enjoyed it though.
