I'm just hoping the entire show is not all about this one serial killer they are going to be chasing. I fear it could turn in to The Killing where they lead us in 100 different directions and drag one case on for multiple seasons. I wonder if they could use the same format and just go through a couple different cold cases that are being reopened.

And IIRC, and HDTV antenna is not a thing anymore. They stop transmitting over-the-air tv signals last summer I think. I used to do that in my room at home, where I had like 60-70 digital channels, a handful of them in HD, just using over-the-air, but then at some point they decided not to do that anymore. Unless something has changed.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 04:09 PM) I am a sportsfan and I could easily do without ESPN, college football is the only thing I watch and CBS and ABC are getting most of the marquee games there. Yeah, same here. NBC Sports Network, CSN, WGN, NBC, FOX, CBS, MLB Network are all I need for sports. I hardly ever watch ESPN anymore.

So that HDMI switcher that I bought for $10 is a pretty awesome value. Turns my 3 HDMI'd TV in to a 5 HDMI TV, and it has an "intelligent" feature that automatically switches the input when I turn on my PS3, and then automatically reverts back to the other source when I turn it off. Pretty handy as I may not even have to use the little remote control that came with it to swap inputs.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) It sucks looking at Law's list and seeing guys that we were hoping would fall to us ranked so much better than Anderson. Obviously there's nothing you can do about it but going into the Arizona's pick there was nearly a unanimous belief that we should take Shipley and if not Shipley, JP Crawford. Of course those were the two picks before us. Shipley - #25 JP Crawford - #46 Anderson - #97 Again, nothing you can do but it still sucks. Or guys we were connected to in 2012, that went right after we took Courtney Hawkins.... like Michael Wacha 6 picks later, or Marcus Stroman 9 picks later. Those were both guys that people felt we would take with our pick. Now, Hawkins isn't even top 100 ranked, while Stroman is #58, and Wacha isn't even ranked anymore because he is already has 64 very good MLB innings and has dominated in the MLB postseason. You could really pull your hair out looking at things like that on all the 1st RD picks we've missed on.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 02:36 PM) Rick and Morty might be my new fave animated show Yeah, that was actually pretty decent. Not as hilarious and outrageous as Chozen, but it has some promise. I'll watch it if it's on.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 02:01 PM) A legit, oh my goodness we have a stud, starting goaltender is pretty hard to find. Crawford is not, and never has been, said guy. Sadly, he's now paid like it. The only goaltenders who will make more than Crawford (next season) are: Pekka Rinne Jonathan Quick Roberto Luongo Cam Ward Ryan Miller Kari Lehtonen Tuuka Rask Oh my, does Crawford belong nowhere near that list of talent. Cam Ward? Ouch. -
Trade proposals from fans for David Price
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to witesoxfan's topic in The Diamond Club
That's pretty funny. In the skimming I did of other team's proposals, I didn't find the Dbacks offer to be off base. The fan said Pollock, Skaggs, and Gregorious for Price. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 12:07 PM) Keith, what are your thoughts on Chris Sale? Klaw(1:25 PM) I ranked him 47th. The White Sox took him 13th. You do the math. Why is his opinion any better than any random "scout"? People always rag on ESPN, but if ESPN hires someone, he is considered some sort of genius guru in that field. The evidence shows Keith Law's opinions tend to be just as wrong as most everyone else. Even after the 2011 season, Law couldn't or wouldn't rank Sale in the top 50 players under 25. Law also famously told us using colorful imagery, that Alexei Ramirez is an awful contact hitter, but in all actuality, he is one of the best in baseball at making contact.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 10:14 AM) It might be Michael Bay (bad), it might have Megan Fox as April O'Neil (worse), but it does have Will Arnett (bonus) and these wicked character designs. I'm in. You are forgetting the best part, in that Thad Castle and Mickey Milkovich are going to be turtles.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 08:06 AM) Nah, it's because they suck. If you think they're good then you don't know good hip hop, bruh. Eminem has a s*** ton of grammys and there's no outcry over that because he's actually good... Lol.

So while looking up some stuff on Reetz, and what his pop time and everything else was, I noticed that PerfectGame lists Alex Jackson as a VERY good defensive catcher. I was under the impression that his defense at C was sub-par and he would eventually have to move to corner OF with his huge bat. According to PerfectGame, Jackson's pop time is 1.73, which is extremely good, and quite a bit better than Reetz's 1.94. Now I realize that is just 1 part of defense, but it's something I could at least quantify. If that is the case, and Jackson is actually a good defender at catcher, then here is what I think I'd like to see given these three scenarios... If Hoffman is available at #3, take Hoffman and try for Reetz with the 2nd RD pick. If Hoffman is taken by that time, take Jackson and try for someone like TCU LHP Brandon Finnegan with the 2nd RD pick. If Hoffman is taken by that time, and Jackson is not deemed a good defensive catcher, then take RHP Tyler Kolek, and try for Reetz with the 2nd RD pick. EDIT: And let me end this by of course saying we are still 4+ months away from the draft, and things can surely change.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 09:59 PM) Yea judging by Coach Q's comments, it sounds like he's not been real happy with Bickell lately. Bickell has not been playing up to that new contract at all. And this team cannot f***ing finish. Any time the game goes in to the 3rd period and the Hawks aren't up by at least 2 goals, I get extremely worried. And obviously we are just a joke in overtime this season. -
Oh my god, that first episode of Workaholics this season. That f***ing show just kills me. Adam is one of the funniest characters on TV. When Colleen's water breaks in his face, holy s***.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 04:01 PM) I see it done a lot - even by the professional media - so I mean not to call anybody out, but I just so happened to see Joe do it which brought it to mind... It's actually the Rule 5 draft, not Rule V. Semantics I know, but it's better to be correct than incorrect. The Rule 4 draft is the First Year Player Draft. I'm also sure it won't be the last time I do this too. Excuse me? I think you mean the Rule-IV draft.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 11:07 PM) Heard Hoffman really impressed in his interview. Great presence. Big org love right now for this kid. All love his approach and work ethic. All don't love his long-toss regimen but he's committed to it. A lot can change but all things being equal, if he's there at #3 I'd be shocked if they passed. Awesome. Let us know if you hear anything about who they could be targetting in the 2nd RD, like that catcher Reetz that Quin brought up.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) Mike Ehrmantraut lives. Jonathan Banks joins cast of 'Better Call Saul' That was so essential, I'm glad they made it happen. I wonder if Giancarlo will be making some appearances on the show once Saul moves to the ABQ area.

All the sudden I have a very busy 2014. At the end of February I am driving to D.C. with my grandma, brother, sister-in-law, and my niece and nephew to go to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins. At the end of March I am driving to Florida with one of my old college roommates to go see our other old college roommate. A reunion of the Three's Company group. The girls want to go to Disney and all that stuff, so that should be fun. I haven't been to Disney since I was....7 or 8 I think. At the end of April I am driving to Nashville with the family and family friends to see the Blackhawks final game of the season versus the Predators. We all have made sure we have red jerseys because of Nashville's "Keep the Red Out" campaign to keep Hawks fans from attending games. In July, my old roommate's sister is getting married, so I'll be attending that of course. Sometime in August my brother will be having his bachelor party. I think we are going to Chain'O'Lakes for a weekend to party on our pontoon boat and get hammered. In September my brother is getting married, so that weekend will be fun. So in a way, I guess it's good that I haven't found a full-time career job yet, because now I can pretty much guarantee I am able to make all these events and go on all these trips.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) You have turned into the Macklemore version of a Beleiber. You can personally like his drivel but you have to acknowledge that his drivel is not well regarded. He simply isn't a very good rapper. Why because I'm defending him in this onslaught he is currently facing? And I never heard a single person say they thought he sucked until he won these awards and then all the sudden people starting raging and flipping cars over because Kendrick didn't take home the Savior of Rap award at the Grammys. He simply is a very good rapper.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 10:18 AM) Has there been a catcher in the history of major league baseball who skipped both Double & Triple A? You're telling me that this guy is ready to handle a major league pitching staff? You guys may have your reasoning, but you're not seeing the forest. I'm down with Stan Bahnsen's plan. It's Double A, or back to the Nationals. I'm not telling you that, the White Sox are, by taking him in the Rule-V draft. There is no "send him to AA" option right now. EDIT: Yes, they could trade for him in ST, but I'm basing my moves on the team as currently constructed, not making any assumptions on future trades.

Also, Macklemore was again forced to release another damage-control piece of "I'm so sorry I won" bulls***. This time he tells everyone that he only won because he is white, so please stop hating him for it. Poor guy, I hope he never wins another award and has to go through this hell of defending himself and apologizing for his skin color.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Pretty spot on article about Macklemore. I should have stopped reading when they declared that Mack's music somehow is terrible, but then I truly stopped reading when he comically believes that Drake's steaming pile of s*** CD was better. What a joke of an article.

Kind of a down episode for Chozen tonight. Still had it's moments.

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 10:08 PM) Thanks, but I'm referring to people who have Nieto in the starting lineup. I can't blame you for being confused. The thread creator asked for starting lineups, but some people have been posting benches, 25 man rosters, etc. I have Nieto on my starting lineup for a couple reasons. 1) Being a rule-V pick, he has to stay on the roster this season, so I'm going to assume that they will at the very least break camp with him on the 25-man to see what they've got. 2) I don't have him as the backup simply because I feel/hope the Sox realize that Flowers is nothing more than a warm body, so I am hoping Nieto will get a chance to prove he can be the tallest midget. 3) Nieto is a switch hitter, and this lineup is largely devoid of left-handed hitters. And the reason why I choose Phegley as the odd man out is because he could use some time in AAA to improve his game and I believe he is the only one of the 3 guys that can be safely placed in AAA. (Nieto can't, and Flowers would have to pass through waivers, although he probably would).

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 07:16 PM) You could just youtube the ending, the gameplay isn't all that good. True, but I've gone this far, I may as well finish. I guess I shouldn't characterize this as a struggle to play, I just don't understand the storyline or the reason my guy is on this mission.
