Saw Sourcecode last night. Thought it was pretty cool, but it was a bit confusing towards the end. So they have had the ability to let them go back in time and save people, but never considered doing it before Jake decided to give it a shot?

He isn't getting paid to get singles. If he bats .300 with 10 HR, that's not what he is getting paid to do.

Every picture I have seen looks like a young dude getting hammered at a party in his free time. You uptight people seem to just be hoping he did something terrible to prove a point.
