Saw Sourcecode last night. Thought it was pretty cool, but it was a bit confusing towards the end. So they have had the ability to let them go back in time and save people, but never considered doing it before Jake decided to give it a shot?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 16, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) There were rumors about the Nationals being interested in him last week. With his struggles, Trout's success, & the logjam in Anaheim, he might be available I guess. Ok, thanks, that's what I was looking for. I was without internet all last weekend and figured I must have missed this. I didn't know they were trying to trade him.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 16, 2012 -> 07:23 AM) Brett Lawrie ejected for arguing call, throws his helmet and it richochets up and nails the umpire. Im guessing he will be sitting out for a few http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7936517/...et-gets-ejected This kid is good, but he is also a proven tool box. Hope he gets a reality check.

Ok, what am I missing here? Where are these Bourjos rumors coming from?
-
He isn't getting paid to get singles. If he bats .300 with 10 HR, that's not what he is getting paid to do.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 15, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) Keith Law also has his first mock draft up. No idea what it says though, as I'm not an ESPN Insider. Chicago White SoxRichie Shaffer, 3B, Clemson Shaffer has the most raw power of any college hitter in this class and has a very good chance of being a solid big league regular, but probably not a star. It'll be interesting to see if ownership allows the scouting department to spend up to the new, higher slot numbers, since they almost never exceeded the old figures. I've also heard them tied to Ohio prep lefty Matt Smoral.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Well, that would be a good time to switch, early termination fee or not. Honestly, going contract-less these days is a great idea if you don't have to get phones for an entire family. I'm stuck in our family plan. I can't switch.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 15, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) Not only excuse. But it shouldn't factor in at all, that's the problem. How do you know it is factoring in?

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) That is total crap. T-Mobile's never done that to me. You simply disable the APN settings. If the phone can't get on a data network, then they can't charge you for anything. Doing so otherwise is horrible practice. Phones cost around 500-600 factory unlocked. That's just how it goes since wireless providers need to give customers an incentive to sign a horrible 2 year contract with them. So to make everything look more appeasing, they "subsidize" the phone's cost to a 100-200 dollar range so people can afford the phone and their outrageous rates. Trust me, we argued over the phone to them that 0 data was used, and 0 data will ever be used, and they said it's company policy that all smartphones require a min. $15 mo. data plan. I even asked if i could "pay per use" with the data since the whole idea of that plan is supposedly to "save people from spending too much data", and they said NO. And the worst part was, when they added the data plan on automatically to our bill, they charged us for the higher end $25 plan, not the minimum $15 plan. Assholes.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) You are only required to get a data plan if you get a subsidized phone...otherwise you don't have to tell them what kind of phone it is...just stick your already activated sim in it. What do you mean, "subsidized phone"? Because a couple months ago I took my brother old HTC Aria phone and put my sim card in it, and was immediately billed for a data plan. AT&T said as soon as the sim card is put in a new phone, the information is sent to AT&T and if it's a phone that requires a plan, then a plan is automatically added to the account. I had even turned off internet on the phone as soon as I turned it on so that way no data would be used, and I also didn't sign in to any Google account, and they still billed me.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) This right here is the biggest thing you aren't grasping. You just compared yourself to Patrick Kane. You are a 21 year old college student that goes to college, attends parties and has a good time. That's not a problem. The problem is you aren't Patrick Kane. Patrick Kane is the one of the most visible faces of a multi million dollar franchise, and represents himself and the organization he plays for. He is getting paid millions of dollars a year to perform at the highest level, and is one of the faces of the NHL. Having all that comes at a cost. Sorry Kane can't party like he would like to, but that is the price signing a 50 million dollar contract comes with. Ok, yes, see this is a perfectly reasonable response. Good post.

That may have been the saddest walk I have ever seen back to the dugout. Feeling bad for Morel.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) If they acted like Kaner, you would know about it. Kane's production has dropped 25% since his peak at TWENTY ONE YEARS OF AGE. That's enough for me. Dogs Dude, you act like no one else here understands college. I was there quite recently. Kane himself said it was time to grow up, as he represents the Blackhawks. PARTY ON WOOOO PARTY YEAHHH Nice baseless post here. 1) You again failed to mention how you know him going to parties every once and a while has made him a worse player. You have no idea, you are just making any connection you can. Weak, weak argument. Hell, it's not even an argument because arguments generally have 2 sides. You HAVE no side here, just empty assumptions. 2) You are having trouble staying on topic here. We are talking about the party in Madison, not some random pic taken a few years ago. *snap snap* Stay on topic. 3) No, I act like YOU don't understand college, because clearly you don't. If you did, you would realize that getting drunk and being in pictures is a weekly occurrence. Anything else is just speculation and something there is no evidence of. Show me pictures of videos of Kaner at Madison choking girls, getting in fights, harassing the police, ANYTHING. Post 'em, come on, you seem so sure of it all.

QUOTE (kapzk @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:28 PM) I thought AJ would be the dead duck but it ends up being Rios I think they could have had him, but opted to go for Rios instead.

Good job getting in to the run down Rios! It sure looked like they could have had AJ at the plate, but decided on ending the inning and allowing a run instead.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) The kid has done nothing but get worse the last 3 seasons. Meanwhile, his partying ways have increased. If Kane follows a simple development path of a 21 year old who nets 88 points, we'd be looking at a superstar who could have, you know, helped the Blackhawks get a little further this season. Instead, Kane continues to regress when he should be greatly improving, all the while party party party act like an idiot. How many other young NHL "superstars" do you see getting black out drunk and having multiple people claim he's assaulting a woman, and at best acting like an idiot, taunting cops, and passing out in bars. I follow sports for one reason - to hope my teams win. When I see a little s*** like Patrick Kane care more about locking down p**** of fat ugly college girls and act like a complete douchebag, it annoys me. That is because we have statistical evidence that he is not applying himself enough to improve at the craft that is giving him millions of dollars. More power to Patrick, do what you want. I've been rather consistent that I'd like to see him doing that elsewhere. Joe, we all get it, you're - how old? I seriously have no idea - but you can't even afford a cell phone with a data plan so you can't be old enough to understand. A 23 year old like Patrick Kane - hell, like Slav, where is he (I think he's 22 or 23), understands that it's time to get your ass in gear. I just don't think you can understand at this point, and you think PK is just cool as hell because he's acting like a complete idiot (and let's not forget putting himself, his career, and the Blackhawks on whole in jeopardy). PARTY ON WOOOO KANERRRRR Lot of interesting things here.... 1) I have no idea if other young NHLers go out and have fun and get drunk. But if they do, who am I to care? Go for it, have fun, just try not to get in trouble, or let it effect your playing career. Do you KNOW that Kane acting like someone his age would has somehow made him forget how to play hockey? No. But you are going to grasp at the first thing you can to try and figure it out. If we found out Kaner was a huge D&D fan, I'm sure you would try and say that it's ruining his career. Just like how ESPN is trying to say that Ovechkin living at home with his mom is making him into an average player. Grasping for answers. 2) For someone who is choosing to believe everything he reads from blacked out college kids, you sure do like to ignore the fact that most testimonies said he was banging hot, good looking girls. Not that their looks are any of our business, but you seem intent on trying to pick certain parts of the stories you've read, while completely ignoring other parts. 3) I think myself being nearly 22 years old means I understand how people our age act. I go to college, a party school at that, so I kind of understand how college parties work. People get drunk, people get annoying, people take a bunch of drunk pictures. That's all we really know about Patrick Kane's weekend. Oh, and he and his crew all wore similar attire (Looked like a Beer Olympics type-thing to me). Party on, Kaner.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) What did he do exactly in the Limo that had his team and Patrick apologizing last time/ I don't know anything about the limo thing other than that picture, which I see nothing wrong with (unless that picture was taken when he was underage, he looks rather young in it), but I know that has nothing to do with the "incident" at hand now.

QUOTE (KG#1 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Bryce Harper home run #2 He's got to start trying places other than CF to hit the baseball. He could have 4 or 5 HR by now if he went down the lines more.

All these claims about Kaner choking women, getting in fights, harassing the police, etc......where is the evidence? Every picture I have seen looks like a young dude getting hammered at a party in his free time. You uptight people seem to just be hoping he did something terrible to prove a point. Don't believe everything a blacked out college kid anonymously emails to a website and asks for high sums of money for supposed video clips.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) $440 gets you a Galaxy Nexus, unlocked (from Google too). If you have the money, you ARE allowed to get one (assuming you have a GSM carrier). This means I wouldn't have to get a data plan? That's the only reason I'm not allowed to get a smart phone, the requirement of a data plan.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:44 AM) Can I get 5/15 added to the title? You'll get nothing and like it.

2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I consider a loyal fanbase one that sticks with a team when it is bad, not blindly believes they are always a good team. That's the difference. Just taking time out of our day to post about this team on a message board all the time proves our loyalties. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 14, 2012 -> 11:06 PM) Haha, still defending him. You're sure something. Not everyone can be a 50 year old trapped in a 20-something-year-old body.

Fun with WAR...... Best hitter in baseball - Josh Hamitlon (3.2 WAR) Best pitcher in baseball - Jake Peavy and Justin Verlander (2.0 WAR) Worst hitter in baseball - Albert Pujols and Brennan Boesch (-1.0 WAR) Worst pitcher in baseball - Clay Buchholz (-0.6 WAR) Quite a few names that you wouldn't expect to be there 1 1/2 months in to the season, huh?
-
What a terribly dumb list.
