White Sox sign Daryle Ward and Jeff Gray
Ward is old and crappy, but Jeff Gray is an interesting name. He just recently turned 29, and was terrible with the Cubs last year. However, prior to last season he put up real solid numbers in 2009 for the A's. Between AAA and the Major League team in 2009, Gray pitched 67 innings, striking out 41 while walking just 8 batters unintentionally. Gray has a career 55% GB%, which is very solid.

White Sox sign Daryle Ward and Jeff Gray
Phil Rogers.... According to Baseball America, #WhiteSox have signed former #Cubs Daryle Ward and Jeff Gray to minor-league deals. Both former Cubs, and both signed to minor league deals.

Winter Meeting Buzz
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) The Sox would gain a supplemental pick. A team signing a "B" loses nothing. Ok, even better then.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Buster_ESPN: Heard this: Good progress being made by D-backs to bring J.J. Putz in as potential closer. Damnit. At least the Dbacks have a good 2nd RD pick. #3 in the 2nd RD I believe.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:10 PM) Lorenzo Cain being dangled? MLBtraderumors says the Brewers are looking for a starting pitcher. If we can give them Floyd, that really improves their pitching a TON with Floyd and Marcum. And Cain looks pretty good, even if he is going to be 25 before the season starts and has yet to really see much time in the majors.

Just caught myself up on all 59 episodes. Crazy. I think this season has been seriously lacking in creativity, but the finale is setting up as f***ing epic.

Nats are likely to shop Willingham around.

Whats the plan for Dayan?
Honestly, I think we trade him. With Dunn and Konerko, it likely means the next 3 years will be occupied at 1B/DH. In those 3 years, it is entirely possible to groom a 1B prospect via draft or trade. As much as I like Viciedo, I think he needs to be traded for a legit OF. I wonder if the Cardinals could be a match with Pujols and Berkman likely off the books after this year. And if the Cards resign Pujols, they could always trade Dayan and upgrade themselves as well. And I think we all know what OF the Cardinals have that Kenny/Sox fans would like to see.

Joe Crede?
No. Let Morel do his thing.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) What are the Jays getting back? No idea. Details haven't been released yet. I believe it's 2-3 prospects. Rumors have Brett Lawrie, Jeremy Jeffress, Mark Rogers, and Jake Odorizzi being tossed around as names.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
Blue Jays are trading Marcum to the Brewers. I think that deal should be a good comparison for what we can expect to receive for Floyd.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) OF course, on average, only 1/2 of those games would be at the Cell, then it's over 2 years, so that's maybe 4 extra HR a year based on the walls. Ooooh ok. I thought those were last year in Washinton. Damn, I was getting pumped.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) A pretty safe assumption for a guy that makes a career out of hitting deep flies. Below is Dunn's 2-year spray chart. You can see that there are several fly outs as well as base hits near the average outfield fence that US Cellular's short dimensions and/or wind tunnels could turn into home runs. Am I crazy, or do I see somewhere around 15 outs made at the wall there that would be homeruns in US Cellular?

White Sox trade Scott Linebrink to Braves
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) Merkin said the $2M saved on Linebrink pays for AJ so they could be getting $3.5M Damnit. Cutting $4M was SUCH a steal. Dropping $2M is a still good, but a little letdown.

Question about Joe Borchard's 504 ft HR
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) All I remember is that it hit one of those hanging planters. I could be wrong, though. I thought it bounced at the top of the steps. I'll find a video.
