Was looking up the moves we made for the 2006 season and they look pretty similar to the moves we are making for the 2011 season..... 2006 - Added Jim Thome 2011 - Added Adam Dunn Both are slugging lefthanders who are DH's are are known for having 1 major skill, and that's smashing home runs. Both expensive. 2006 - Signed AJ Pierzynski to $5M annual contract 2011 - Signed AJ Pierzynski to $4M annual contract 2006 - Signed Paul Konerko to $12.5M annual contract 2011 - Likely to sign Paul Konerko to annual contract around $12M Key pieces that don't match up are the Sox trading for Javy Vazquez, and then resigning Jon Garland. This would give the Blue Jays Pierzynski, Molina, and Arrencibia. Would be nice if Kenny could take Arrencibia off AA's hands.

I would think one of Buehrle/Peavy/Rios/Jackson HAVE to be traded if the Sox truly intend of bringing Konerko back. Also, interesting that Dunn's starting point was 4yr/$60, and he took $56. Wonder if he agreed to it so long as they throw that $4M to Paulie.
