"Major League Ready Talent" Only
Kenny's M.O.-- Try to catch lightning in a bottle with the major league club, and don't worry about the minors. Nothing new here until he's gone.

2011 World Series Thread
Weather not looking promising for tonight. Wouldn't baseball be better if they just lopped off about 20 games and finshed in the middle of October? Not going to happen, but I think the product would be better.

2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread
Buddy Bell was on the radio this morning... Said Jared Mitchell had a great Instructional League working with Laker and Manto. We'll see how that plays out next year. Also mentioned Tyler Saladino. Said fans will love the way he plays the game. Pure baseball player.

5 Sox players off of roster
QUOTE (spiderman @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) I think Axelrod/Stewart or another team's prospect will be replacing Danks or Floyd. This rotation would have a lot of struggles. There's no #1, Peavy can't be trusted, Sale will growing pains, Humber will have to show he wasn't a first half wonder, and it all boils down to Floyd and Danks having 17 win seasons, neither of whom has shown that this is likely to happen. I'm not saying they would be a division-winning rotation, but it could be pretty good if everything goes right: Peavy gets his precious regular offseason that he's wanted, and actually does bounce back. Maybe not Cy caliber, but equal to what Buehrle has done. Danks and Floyd have been part of a division winner before. They could bounce back--and should. Humber goes into the second full year and improves a little. Sale may be a future ace, and could be a very solid 5th starter. And if the team still doesn't hit by July, Peavy, Danks, and Floyd could be attractive to other teams with the possibility of all of them being free agents a year from now. I guess what I'm saying is there's no need to gut this team completely this winter. They can let Buehrle go and trade Quentin, and try to compete next year. If it works, great. If it doesn't, then you just trade when you can next season, and retool on the fly.

5 Sox players off of roster
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Addison Reed has a reasonable chance to make the Sox's 2012 opening day roster, and Friday's moves don't hurt. Would anyone object to a 2012 pitching staff like this: R: Peavy, Danks, Floyd, Humber, Sale BP: Axelrod, Stewart, Ohman, Reed, Thornton, Crain, Santos The might not win, but it's not that bad if they somehow are healthy and stay healthy.

2011 ALCS: Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers Thread
QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) A Cy Young winner should also start 3 times in a 7 game series, but that aint happening because of Verlander's precious "routine". I can not believe there's not more criticism of that written this post season. He's been mediocre this postseason, but let's not criticize Leyland for only using him twice in a 7-game series. Statistically, pitchers are better on four days rest. It takes a team to win these series. I think the teams that panic and go to short rest with pitchers that aren't used to it, are hurting their teams more than helping them.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) Good for MLB in finally evening out the divisions! Now all we need is for people to get over the quaint notion of pitchers having to bat and we can get rid of the AL and NL completely and have a total geographic realignment. If they ever dismantle the leagues and put the Sox and Cubs in the same division, I will be done with baseball. That's a promise.

White Sox Bench Coach Search Thread
I hope the question is asked today, why Mark Parent and not a former major league manager or former experienced major league bench coach? I mean, yeah, all of these moves may work out in a few years. But on the surface, these coaching staff moves are weird made by a GM that should have been out at season's end.

Sox could explore deals for AJ/PK-Merkin
If they can trade Konerko and Pierzynski in deals that make sense, of course they should do it. This team isn't going to win the next couple years.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) And this year, 3 out the 4 teams that jumped to a 1-0 series lead eventually lost... Yep, unusual year. Also the first time there was 19 out of 20 possible games played in the DS.
