  1. Not surprised by this. I’ll be watching less postseason baseball, and the final day scoreboard watching…that’s done too. Thanks greed.
  2. Feeling very trade deadline-y. Let’s get Conforto, Ray, and trade Kimbrel for Segura.
  3. Going to be interesting to see how far Omar Vizquel will drop. He was at 49.1% last year because most of the votes were in before his news dropped. I bet he’s under 10%.
  4. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/baseball-hall-of-fame-ballot-2022-alex-rodriguez-david-ortiz-join-bonds-clemens-schilling-in-final-year/ It’s that time of year again. Last year on the ballot for Schilling, Bonds, and Clemens. I’d vote for the three mentioned, plus Rolen, Helton, Kent, Buehrle, Hunter, Hudson, Rollins
  5. RIP Julio Lugo, heart attack. Was once traded for Chris Duncan…also no longer with us.
  6. I think the deadline is 4pm tomorrow, which is standard time. If it’s today, it’s still daylight time. Change your clocks tonight before you go to bed.
  7. Hopefully Cano will remain the Mets problem to pay or play the next couple years and then he’ll disappear from baseball.
  8. Manfred may have to hand the trophy over in Atlanta. Good luck with that, Rob.
  9. Somebody I’ve never heard of is starting Game 4 of the World Series. Literally have never heard of Dylan Lee.
  10. Good game. Anderson is a confident, stud pitcher. Wish he went longer, but can’t argue with the outcome. Go Braves!
  11. We shall see. They can’t routinely end the season this late though. It’s ridiculous. With expanded postseason, they may be able to shorten the regular season by total number of games, or scheduled 7-inning doubleheaders. They have to get the postseason going by September 20th or so.
  12. Speaking of weather, I guess it’s a good thing the Twins weren’t actually good this year. If game 6 and 7 was in Minnesota this season, they’d be playing the games in the 30’s. It wouldn’t have been much better here if the Sox advanced. I really hope the next CBA addresses the schedule—as in, the modern game doesn’t need to be 26.5 weeks and 162 games. It’s outdated. Opening day should be the first Monday in April, and World Series should be in the books by October 21st…so the regular season should be done 5 weeks earlier if they’re going to expanded postseason.
  13. What a stupid thing to talk about. The World Series starts tonight. The Astros and Braves are playing. Watch it if you want. Or don’t.
  14. Obviously he should have been in long, long ago and enjoyed it himself. He was second best AL player 1951-1961, after a late arrival to the American League for obvious reasons. It’ll be nice when they right a wrong, but completely bittersweet.
  15. Peter Scolari, 66 RIP
  16. So it’s not Correa’s time after all? That’s a shame.
  17. Red Sox/Braves was the only watchable World Series for me after the DS, so I’m ok with this so far.
  18. Consider this hypothetical… Throw out the Twins, Royals, Orioles, Rangers, and Angels out of the AL. Sox play the other 9 AL teams 18 games each for 162. What’s their record and where do the finish in the league? Until it’s 90 and they’re one of the top 3, they’ll never get to a World Series. So our 93-win team is ok, but not really a championship quality team yet.

No strike, so that’s good. Get the last season of Saul on the air!
  20. When’s the last time a hitter got hit by a pitch and immediately ran out to the pitcher to throw down? Arenado years ago? It just never happens anymore. I’m not condoning it, but…at some point stop talking about it.
  21. The Sox rolled over bad teams- Twins just never got it going, Cubs post-punt on season, Orioles, Rangers, Pirates, Reds after they were eliminated. To me, the Sox “out-talented” a lot of teams, and they racked up enough wins each month. But they never really showed anything that they were going to be a postseason threat to better AL teams.

Apparently that was not an accurate report.
