  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) That was an incredibly pointless article. I agree. I dropped it without comment, but it was pointless. I will say, give Sale enough time, he'll always say something on the dumb side, or cringeworthy.

  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) You do realize if the season ended today, Jose Quintana would be the AL Cy Young award winner? He wouldn't be close and prepare for an all star snub possibility too. I love Q, but get real.
  5. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 04:19 PM) The INTL program has come a long way. I really hope that's true. It's difficult to give them the benefit of the doubt until some of these guys are on full season teams and doing well.
  6. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 03:11 PM) This team has become so irrelevant unless you're into torture. Won't watch a game until Ventura is gone.

    Blow It Up

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) Some of those guys may end up with better years. I never said they wouldn't. I said he should be the current leader as he's having the best season up to this point. Hope he isn't an all star snub.

    Blow It Up

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) Well congrats. I don't think ESPN is a viable news outlet. Quintana has accumulated a 3.1 fWAR with a ERA of 2.63 and a 2.60 FIP. Corey Kluber is the next closest. If their system doesn't have him in or near the top, then their system is a f***ing joke that shouldn't be taken seriously. He's having a great year, and I personally would have him in the top 5 now. But they don't vote now. In my opinion, come actual voting time--Sale, Hamels, Salazar, a few other guys will have proven out over 33 starts to be better than Q. And that's ok. Quintana is good, he's just never winning a Cy.
  11. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) They won't end up as bad as the Twins (or can they?) I see them ending up with #7 or #8 pick. Funny enough, I looked at the reverse standings last night, and thought 8 was as good (or bad) as it's going to get. 77-85 team.
  12. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) I see Robin is still manager. Lol this organization gets what they deserve. I kind of thought if we don't hear something in the next 90 minutes, Ventura is surviving this series. I was somewhat hopeful they would at least make this move, but it doesn't appear it will happen. 104 days left.

    Blow It Up

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) He should clearly be the AL favorite though. It's not that close either. It's not gospel, but the ESPN Cy Predictor doesn't have Quintana in the top 10 now. Sale would win today, as he should, but Hamels and few other guys will be there at the end of the season. Q won't.
  14. Miami playing in an elimination game this afternoon. Collins could be available to sign soon. Caught a couple Remillard AB's last night. Small body for a 3B, but swings hard. Double and triple, and a few nice plays at third.

    Blow It Up

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) That's ridiculous. I love watching Sale, Quintana, and Rodon pitch. Quintana should be the frontrunner for the AL Cy Young. To each their own. Quintana is having a great year as always, but he's not winning a Cy.

    Blow It Up

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) If the Sox finish under 75 wins and Shields continues to be the worst pitcher in baseball, I would be shocked if no FO movement happens. I wouldn't put a win total on it, or all on the Shields deal. Short of making the playoffs, changes must be made. It's a terrible organization on every level.
  17. A sweep would move it to 10-30 in the last 40. People like nice round numbers, so that would be a thing.
  18. It's a good day to do it. Cavs are getting the national media's attention no matter what. The local media probably isn't heavy in Boston today. It would give the team a few days away before getting the brunt of the local media on Friday, when he'd be gone already. Or we just have to wait 15 weeks. They should make the change now though. Like today.
  19. Maybe wishful thinking, but I'm hoping it's done tomorrow afternoon before the game. Maybe it's a better PR move doing it while the team is on the road. Get it out of their system before playing at home Friday.
