  1. Get a damn run in here.
  2. De Aza has the flu. He's not available.
  3. If you're playing somebody out of position, obviously it's Dunn in LF, Viciedo at 3B, and PK stays at 1B.
  4. No Carlos Lee next weekend. DL. Brett Wallace up.

Garfein tweeted Danks side session went well today, but may need a rehab start. I'm good with that. Quintana on Wednesday, please.
  6. Just noticed something weird....Viciedo only has 4 doubles. Since April 26, 10 homers and 2 doubles. Weird. You'd think he would have more gappers that didn't go over the wall. Not that I'm complaining. Just interesting.
  7. Walked Tex. Tie game.
  8. Valverde is about to blow a save.
  9. Cabrera homer with 2 out in the 8th. He's pretty good, isn't he? With he and Fielder being as good as they are, it really shows how bad the rest of the Tigers have been...or a lot of them.
  10. Swish tied it up with an RBI single.

  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Why is Danks an upgrade over Fukudome? The guy has a tough time making contact playing every day against weaker competition. I think he'd be hard-pressed to do anything playing as infrequently as Fukudome. Fukudome at least has done it before. Its best for Jordan and the Sox he not be called up to take Fukudome's place. If Fukudome were in AAA, he'd probably be hitting over .300 and the consensus would be to call him up. Fukudome is 35, and I just don't think he's doing any good sitting on the bench. Like I said, I think you can keep Danks involved in the game more as the season goes on. His splits have been very good this season other than striking out once a game. We'll see what happens.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Fuko is a perfect backup outfielder. Why in the world would Sox bring up Danks to sit? I think at the price, Fukudome was a decent gamble and looked good on paper. What has he done in a Sox uniform? Nothing. Jordan Danks isn't projected to be a starter in the big leagues any longer. He's at that age (almost 26) where he's played enough AAA baseball and he could be a valuable bench piece. De Aza has been great, but giving him a rest once every 10 days during the hot months would be a good thing, and that's where Danks can help. He can also go in on defense for Viciedo (who isn't bad, but Danks is better).
  15. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) I am benching Gavin today in Fantasy because I don't trust him anymore until he gets on one of his runs. Therefore he is guaranteed to throw a complete game shutout. You're welcome. Floyd's best months are June and July. It's June.
  16. Hearing Juan Nieves on the Score, it sounds like Danks probably won't be ready Wednesday. No rush. Maybe let Quintana start Wednesday, and send Danks to Charlotte for a few innings, then let him tell his brother he made the bigs and they got on the plane back together.
  17. Could you imagine it's late October, and Buehrle is starting Game 1 or 2 of the World Series at the Cell, with Ozzie, Joey, and Zambrano in the visitor's dugout? That would be wild, and also not impossible.
  18. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) Eduardo Escobar and Michael Earley for Youkilis? I was thinking Floyd and Quintana for Youkilis and one of their better lower level starting pitchers. But I hope they pass for now.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) We don't need him yet. I want to exhaust the Hudson/Morel resources before deciding on him. More specifically, I want to see how Morel looks when he gets off the DL. He's a plus defender when healthy. Having Hudson on the bench and a 1-2 time/week starter would be great. And I don't want the Sox giving up pitching only to help the Red Sox, who could be a team the Sox play in October.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) 1 game back of Texas for best record in the AL. Winning streaks do wonders. Winning streaks win divisions. The "winning series" philosophy is a bad philosophy. I think Robin has this team only thinking about showing up to the park THAT DAY, and playing the game the right way, and with the talent they have, good results will happen. By the way, take away the head-to-head vs Texas in their park, and the Sox have the same record as Texas. Sox are in very good shape.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 02:22 AM) On the other hand, even I'm starting to get down on Trayce Thompson. I was thinking about that too. I'd like some examples of current very good major league players that couldn't hit for average in High-A at age 21. I'm sure some exist, but I'd like to know.
  22. Danks over .300. Johnson with 2 more homers. Mitchell with his 8th triple.
  23. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) I think the attendance discussion is very much on point. Everyone knows White Sox fans won't come out if they team is not winning. Well.. this is First Place Chicago White Sox! I won't be surprise if it's in the 22-24,000 range tonight, but Saturday and Sunday should be well over 30,000.
