I read these books in high school: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, The Chocolate War, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Of Mice and Men, The Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I have also read All Quiet on the Western Front , which was mentioned in this thread. I thought they were all good books. I don't see why people have such a problem with books like these. Take I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings for example. The only thing I see that could be argued as bad is when she is raped. I don't see any other reason. Let the kids read these books, they're all great books.
  3. They are going to get a 12th school. The money from football is great for ND, but the other sports do need a conference, and most conferences say football has to be involved. The Big Ten is the only place I could see them going.
  4. That's all a joke. I hate it how he says everyone throws 1908 back at Cubs fans. The biggest thing I make sure to tell my Cubs fan friends is how we beat them up this year. Cubs fans arn't loyal, they are all on the bandwagon. If the Cubs weren't winning, everyone would say that's why there the loveable losers. I'd rather be the asshole winners than loveable losers. One of my professors says it best about State and U of M. Anyone can be a Michigan fan, but it takes character to be a State fan. That is how it is here too.
  5. Oh yeah, what a situation that was. It's funny how no one on the Phils backed up either guy in that situation. When Thome was asked about Bowa and Houston, he said let's talk about baseball. That team mirrors us pretty good; our closers at beginning the year are no longer closers (Koch and Mesa), we had a struggling power hitter (Konerko and Burrill), our managers have gotten alot of heat (JM and Bowa), and we each had an ass with no heart get cut (White and Houston).
  6. BerniedabreweR is my name. Man I love that mascot.
  7. I got aim.
  8. I liked it. Everyone who I know who has seen it liked it. The whole zombie thing is a little odd, but Depp is good in it. Many one liners which leave you laughing. I don't think it would be the same second time, but I liked it.
  9. 6-5 Fish, Top 8.
  10. Where at? I'd come in.
  11. WinMX works well. I have all kinds or songs. They all come out good quality.
  12. Ever see Pirates of the Carribean? When the girl started using big words which the pirates didn't understand, Barbarosa said 'we're not but humble pirates.'
  13. Glad he got number 20.
  14. That's awesome. That's something he will always remember. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to represent the United States.

New episodes on it. Wow, I want that. I should probably get the first two, just been too lazy.
  16. I'm not but a humble pirate. You confuse me man. Ha.
  17. You're the second person who I have seen say Marte could start. Could he do it? I like him in the bullpen. Rauch was supposed to be a stud, he was the number 5 starter going into 2002. I know he was hurt this year, but what has happen to him?
  18. Wow, that chicks so hot!!! She looks great in those pictures. I like the second one personally.

I never saw that movie. I assumed Meg Ryan lived. Wow, that's some kick. I wouldn't cry at a movie, but sometimes I my eyes start to water. I remember first time I saw Armageddon, that got me a little at the end. At the end of Gladiator I got it a little bit too. I think the music helps add to the effect. All the movies I have ever had teary eyes, had great scores.
  20. Haha I liked it. I had never heard it before.
  21. Carolina. Look at the Bucs ripping the Falcons apart last week. Bucs scored 31 points on Atlanta, while scoring 9 on the Panthers. Carolina will be fresh, and the Falcons offense isn't going. Duckett has a had an injury, I believe a quad or something (not sure), and Price has been doing poorly with his new team. They had to send Woody Dantzler in to score a td. I sure hope Carolina shuts them out, I have the Carolina Defense in my league.

Historys my favorite subject too... Was I the only one who enjoyed Gym the most.
  23. That stuff was cool.
  24. No I didn't mean it nessecarily like that. Alot of players are asses, I know that, but I mean who would just absolutly tear the team up, if he was told to do something by the manager, who was right by telling him to do it. Also people who are not team players. I am not talking about money or anything.
  25. I don't care who we get, just as long as he shows emotion and can light a fire under the Sox and get them going. No more underachieving. It gets old. Only problem is this team has a bunch of little b****es. We don't want our clubhouse to explode. So bring in the right guy and ship many the Sox away.
